* EvenBetterSequel: This game is near universally considered much better than the first handheld installment. A lot of features that were missed in the prior installment were added for this one like a level map, progress towards level objectives preserved upon death, and a far better difficulty curve. Further, unlike the first game, getting every firefly isn't mandatory for finishing the game, meaning the player is free to skip some of the more frustrating level objectives if desired.

gypsy isn't a slur so censoring it on here makes no sense, especially considering Lady Gaga has a song called Gypsy that provoked no real controversy, also this isn't really an example of this trope anyways as Values Dissonance is about changing attitudes, not words that some people don't like using

* GoodBadBugs: Should you be on your last life, and fall into the water or a bottomless pit, but pause and exit the stage at the last moment, the lives count will underflow, granting you 100 lives instead.
* ValuesDissonance: One of the levels in the third homeworld has the G slur as its name. If this game wasn't obscure then it would have gotten a ton of backlash.

* FranchiseOriginalSin: The fireflies in this game are a substitute for the dragon eggs in ''VideoGame/SpyroYearOfTheDragon'', with the main distinction being that fireflies need to be frozen with ice breath so they can be collected. While it doesn't add much, this mechanic isn't minded since fireflies don't move far from where they spawn and ice breath is an important part of Spyro's moveset for the whole game. When ''VideoGame/SpyroEnterTheDragonfly'' did something similar with the dragonflies, it was received much worse; dragonflies have to be caught with bubble breath, which is completely worthless otherwise, and dragonflies in the open work like faster, smaller Egg Thieves, making them annoying to chase down.
