Ambiguous Disorder is now Diagnosed By The Audience, an audience reaction and an YMMV item;

* AmbiguousDisorder: Jessica. Seriously she displays a good few sociopathic tendencies given that it's her idea to cover up the murder, she [[spoiler: kills Garrett without a second thought and attacks Maggie for supposedly sleeping with her boyfriend]]. Add that her snarking at every situation involving the killer.
* AwesomeEgo: Jessica is just magnificently self centred and is LoveToHate for most.

** Mrs Crenshaw, who is played by Carrie Fisher, wielding a shotgun is considered by some the ''only'' reason to watch the movie.

%%* * TheScrappy: Megan's little sister, Maggie.Maggie. In a film that has no shortage of funny, witty dialogue, her lines tend towards the tryhard end (yet are treated as epic owns); a shaky performance from the actress doesn't help.

* SugarWiki/SheReallyCanAct: After a string of generic roles in {{Teen Drama}}s and {{Made For TV Movie}}s, Leah Pipes embraces the ridiculous nature of this movie and has a ball playing the AlphaBitch Jessica. Her hilarious performance is a highlight of the film.
* SoBadItsGood: The film strangely becomes DenserAndWackier halfway through, completely destroying all tension, but also becoming quite enjoyable - particularly Jessica's deadpan reaction to finding Megan's corpse and all the ridiculous twists and {{Red Herring}}s. It's far more entertaining as a (somewhat) unintentional comedy than a straight horror.

** The film quite blatantly rips off ''Film/BlackChristmas'' (both the 1974 and 2006 versions) with its characters - and the girls now being harassed by an anonymous killer. But TheReveal [[spoiler: that Andy is the killer]], and does so in a black fraternity robe, is hilarious in hindsight of the 2019 version of ''Black Christmas'' - which makes the villains evil frat boys.

* EnsembleDarkhorse: Chugs, Maggie, and Mrs. Crenshaw.
** Jessica may count as well. [[spoiler: Many fans thought she was the best character and were NOT pleased when she died.]]
* IdiotPlot: The girls decide to keep Megan's death a secret even though they had nothing to do with it. In fact, only Garrett would've been punished, which would be even better because they were already mad at him for cheating on Megan.
** Actually they are probably guilty of involuntary manslaughter or negligent homicide considering they were the indirect cause of Megan's death.
*** True, they could be charged with involuntary manslaughter or even being an accessory at worst, but it's not very likely that they would be found guilty. Especially if all of them just decided to have their testimony be "Garret stabbed her as we begged him to stop!"
*** Actually, the plot would've been so much better if they had done that. Then the killer would've been Garret seeking revenge instead of what we got.
*** Further IdiotPlot: the girls' first reaction is "Let's dump her body in mineshaft!" instead of what most friends' reactions would be, which is CALL AN AMBULANCE!
**** They tried helping her, but she ''was impaled through the chest and died in seconds.''
*** All of them couldn't have 'just decided' to pin the blame on Garret - Chugs wasn't going to abandon her brother, Cassidy was too full of scruples to go through with it comfortably and Ellie was a weepy wreck who would have fallen apart the moment the police tried to get a statement out of her. So much for a united testimony.
**** Too full of scruples to report a murder?
**** Too full of scruples to absolve herself (and the other girls) of ''their part'' in the murder.
*** Chugs isn't going to abandon her brother even after he murdered one of her best friends...can we throw that in under IdiotBall?
*** Why? First of all she obviously knows that the 'murder' was not intentional and secondly it's pretty normal to side with your family when they are being thrown to the wolves (by your other 'friends' no less). Chugs sticking by Garrett is probably the most realistic reaction anyone has to anything in the film.
*** The IdiotPlot is that there are several chances for this whole serial killer situation to have been avoided. First, they didn't need to fake the girl's death. Second, they could have stopped the prank after the "death" instead of letting it go on and on. Third, Garrett could have not stabbed the "dead" body. Fourth, they could have turned themselves in. Any of these things could have averted the story.
* LesYay: During the toast, Chugs' "Ellie, I love you because you're always there to help with homework. You're like a spellcheck with a nice rack" line, and later, her reaction to Megan being given fake CPR ("That's hot").
* MisaimedFandom: Chugs is pretty popular in the fandom for her unapologetic skankiness and snarkiness.
