* NightmareFuel: Generally a lot of the actions of the series are PlayedForLaughs and are generally not terrifying, there can be a few exceptions.
** Season 4's finale involves Sonic blowing up the movie theater full of people inside of it. We even get to hear panicked sounds of screaming before the theater explodes and seemingly kills everyone, including all of Sonic's friends and others that were invited just to spite Tails. [[spoiler:Becomes NightmareRetardant when Eggman, Earthworm Jim, and Soniqua all were revealed to be alive and that they knew there was something up and Sonic took quite a while before the theater blew up]]
** Season 7's driving point is the "Creator" messing with Sonic. It gets especially creepy in "Kung-Fu" when Sonic chooses to have sex with one of the characters, then she turns into random other unsettling characters before turning into Mother Brain, to Sonic's disgust.
** Season 8 starts off with "Sonic Mania", which has the deaths of both Mania Sonic and Mania Tails being pretty graphic. Sonic shoots Tails in face which some animals slowly eat, while Sonic ties up Mania Sonic and some animals slowly eat him, showing his corpse in full. Sonic and Tails consider taking over the game, but then said animals start swarming the game and destroying it rapidly, leading for the two to run for their lives.

** In the episode featuring the Avengers, Mario and the other Avengers were annoyed with Black Widow's posing, which was exaggerated as twerking - with Iron Man even calling her useless. Come the [[Film/BlackWidow2021 Black Widow]] movie, and her adoptive sister Yelena is shown mocking Natasha over her infamous fighting poses.

* SeasonalRot: Some have viewed Season 4 as this, with the KafkaComedy being cranked UpToEleven to the point that the antics Sonic gets into feel more depressing than they are funny. Most of this can be attributed to [[spoiler:the change in personality for Tails]], who takes absolute ''glee'' in making Sonic's life a living hell.
** Season 6 is a more downplayed example. While still having fans, many others felt like the season's storyline felt too aimless, suprisingly convoluted, and dragged on for quite a bit. Thankfully this season has since been [[VindicatedByHistory vindicated after the season compilation was released]], letting the whole story flow much better.

** One of the alternate timelines Sonic ends up creating when messing with the Epoch is one where his series has completely fallen into obscurity while VideoGame/CrashBandicoot retained his insane popularity from the late 1990s into the present day and was considered one of the top gaming icons. This episode was released when Crash's series was at its lowest point and was in very real danger of becoming completely forgotten. Flash forward a couple years and Crash Bandicoot had an extremely successful revival which rocketed the series back to the top while Sonic's series was once again on a downward spiral.
