** Soujirou Agata and Michiru Shinba's relationship. They have been best friends since they started High School, and Michiru ofteen worries about Soujirou's well-being when he focuses his attention into an obsession, such as that time he thought there was a LoveDodecahedron involving his little sister, Saaya. The anime, in fact, {{ship tease}}s them a ''lot'' as it uses [[AdaptationDistillation scenes that are nonexistent in the original manga]].

** "Concentration" is a piece from the soundtrack that is absolutely wonderful and it's used whenever Bossun is in "Concentration Mode". That is partially due to the fact that the animation wouldn't work if Bossun was just sitting in there thinking and connecting points he missed at simple sight. InUniverse, it would be seen as boring and uninteresting, too.

** Any song sung by The Sketchbook that was used in the anime. Especially "[[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQycEhfmhfM Clear]]" (the last opening of the anime), since it can pump you out.
* DieForOurShip: Initial reaction from the fandom towards Saaya Agata was bad (she is a parody to the {{Tsundere}} character archetype, for starters), but it got worse when she developed a crush in Bossun, the ObliviousToLove hero who wouldn't notice that Himeko also had a crush on him (whose relationship was beyond "LikeAnOldMarriedCouple" status). [[spoiler: She later confesses her feelings to Bossun (and she hinted it to Himeko as well, due to the School Trip Rhapsody arc's [[FreakyFridayFlip circumstances]]), and eventually gives up when she finds out that he gives a "special" attention to Himeko that he doesn't notice besides their friendship.]]

* FriendlyFandoms: With ''Manga/{{Gintama}}'' (although they borderline into FandomRivalry). Both series have been constantly compared on and off from time to time ever since ''Sket Dance'' was first published, due to their similar premises (resolving problems through an Odd-Jobs Shop) and comedy (BokeAndTsukkomiRoutine, BreakingTheFourthWall, etc.), especially since Kenta Shinohara may have been inspired by ''Gintama'', at the time he was working as an assistant to Hideaki Sorachi. However, both series play off each other's weaknesses and strengths in their own styles, according to their narrative storylines and characters' relationships.
* FunnyAneurysmMoment: Chiaki, "Captain", in episode 4 wants to win the Pelollipop contest because her little brother said the [[CreepyDoll doll]] looks like his deceased mother[[note]]That is because of how similar both of them stick their tongues out[[/note]].
* HarsherInHindsight: Switch's LargeHam personality is a way to show off his emotions to his friends and other strangers as well, and to make him look normal, although he speaks through his laptop. [[spoiler: Until it is showed in "Switch On" that he developed it (and his pop culture references' knowledge) when he was a [[{{hikikomori}} shut-in]], as a way to maintain his mind busy at the time he was still mourning the loss of his younger brother.]]

** Koma-chan, who despite being a tall girl seen as a "giant" for others, she is too shy and some of her poses in some scenes are a little suggestive to not notice her "moe-ness".

** Any song sung by The Sketchbook that was used in the anime. Especially "[[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQycEhfmhfM Clear]]" (the last opening of the anime), since it's made to pump you out.

Take account that the series played a ''lot'' of ShipTease towards them, and there are ''even'' arcs that fueled it (considering their {{Backstory}})... especially towards the last chapters. When he [[spoiler:leaves Japan, Himeko goes to the airport and finally tells him that she likes him. Bossun's response? He tells her that he likes her too... [[LoveYouAndEverybody and the rest of his friends.]]]] Definitely unexpected by any fan of the ship. Some others (shippers or not), however, think this was something natural from him, giving his ObliviousToLove personality.

* AwesomeMusic: The 'Concentration' track does it absolutely wonderful to the moment where Bossun is 'concentratring'. Because, of course, you need to add awesomeness to the moment where he is thinking and connecting points that were missed at simple sight/heard, because in.universe it could be boring.
** And speaking of, 'Cool & Crazy', when stuff is going in the favor of the Sket Dan.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: Switch's Bossun drawing, a non-character, that made up in the Top TEN of the first Popularity Poll.
** The series has a lot of this, as the second popularity poll revealed. Among the other notable ones are Anthony, an action figure, and Tanabe-kun, a character created by Bossun and Tsubaki in their attempt at fixing the writings in a banner.
* FaceOfTheBand: Dante in his band [=JardiN=], though the other members have names too, there is only Dante and Rodan who have more talkative roles.
** Same would be applied to the old bands that the Sket Dan were part from in the Kaimei Rock Festival. You just remember mostly about THEM as well.

* RelationshipWritingFumble: A chapter in the manga, Brother and Sister, explores the ambiguous ties between Bossun's [[NotBloodSiblings not-blood]] sister, Rumi, and his biological twin brother, [[SeparatedAtBirth who had been separated at birth]] Tsubaki. They were supposed to see each other as brother and sister, but the way their relationship develop is almost exactly like a romantic set-up of romance mangas (i.e. they have a movie "date", hung out together the whole day, and it ends with Tsubaki saving Rumi from falling off a bunch of stairs).
