** In an earlier part of ''P.T.'', before the hallway was starting to collapse, you would hear a baby's crying and someone's aggressively knocking the bathroom door, prompting you to peek in. Although this one was particularly creepy moment, there's something unintentionally hilarious when the ghost lady suddenly appeared from the other side of the door and angrily closed it, and she somewhat looked annoyed at you more than anything else.

** There's an argument to be made that ''VideoGame/AlanWakeII'' is the closest we'll ever get to a realized version of this game. We have several {{Unnaturally Looping Location}}s, a highly meta story, otherwise mundane locations being made terrifying, and [[spoiler:elements of TimeTravel]] all wrapped up in a package of insane graphical fidelity. Sam Lake and Kojima have collaborated in the past, with Lake making a cameo in ''VideoGame/DeathStranding'' and Kojima doing the same in ''VideoGame/{{Control}}''. Kojima himself [[https://twitter.com/IGN/status/1719765518213689607 retweeted an IGN article that made this claim]], so he seems to agree somewhat.

** The infant's ending monologue. He explained how his father was boring, always being the same, ''and one day killing his entire family''. And he said his complaint was that ''he wasn't original'' (or it would be a complaint because he was "dying of boredom anyway). It's hard not to sort of chuckle at how well he's taking it.

The Tear Jerker and Never Live It Down examples are both real-life examples. Tear Jerker does not allow real-life examples, period, while Never Live It Down requires 25 years. The Never Live It Down example might fit better under Overshadowed By Controversy, which has a much smaller waiting period of 6 months.

* NeverLiveItDown: A meta-example; it's safe to say neither Kojima or Konami will live down the fact that their falling out led to the game's cancellation.

* OvershadowedByControversy: The ''P.T.'' demo will forever be associated with the falling-out between Hideo Kojima and Konami, which severely damaged Konami's once-stellar reputation and led to the full game's cancellation.

* TearJerker:
** The utter cancellation of the game is this. Fans were eagerly awaiting what Kojima and Del Toro had planned and from the playable teaser and concept trailer, as it ''looked grand and amazing''. Sadly, it's only a WhatCouldHaveBeen.
** Del Toro himself hit it hard, especially considering how much [[TraumaCongaLine he's suffered when it came to trying to get into the gaming industry]]. Even worse is how much he really feels disappointed how Konami could screw the plans for the game up so badly. You can ''feel'' the man's pain. Del Toro later said that he would never work on another video game, not because he doesn't love the medium, but because he views himself as a bad luck charm since every horror game he's tried to work on directly has been cancelled.
** Norman Reedus as well was hit hard by the game's abrupt cancellation, even trying his best to do a protest movement to bring back the game, to no avail.
** Even Microsoft tried to flail their arms in the wind by buying the game's IP as an Xbox One exclusive by Xbox head Phil Spencer; to no avail.
** And lastly with Kojima as well, who ''cannot'' say anything due to his contract obligations with Konami, especially considering how excited he was to work on a ''Silent Hill'' game, and now it was just ripped away from him.
