** Another one from the same book would've been the WMG of all the exes coming back for a final fight since it was alluded that the exes may have not been dead in volume 2. The final plan was cool, but by comparison that one would've been cooler. Also add in that Gideon's GenreBlindness at the end with [[spoiler: Scott using the one-up to come back to life]]. It seemed odd that he wouldn't see that coming.

* WhatDoYouMeanItsForKids: Actually, the game is great family fun. But the {{Gainaxing}} raises some eyebrows.
** It's not too family friendly. Todd Ingram gives Scott the finger, some people may object to Kim and Knives kissing, and [[spoiler:[[BodyHorror Gigadeon]]]] may scare some younger players. The game warrants a 12/T rating at the very most.

* TearJerker: You'd think there wouldn't be any... but there are a few.
** One noticeable one is when [[spoiler: Ramona says goodbye]].
*** Almost immediately after that is Scott's [[spoiler: attempts to find Ramona's cat Gideon, culminating in him staying up so late ''in the snow'' that he actually misses it when Gideon ''does'' show up... and then pads off into the snow again...]]
** Another is when [[spoiler:Scott moves away from his current girlfriend, Kim Pine]].
** Also in volume 5, during the twins' fight when [[spoiler:Kim, who still has feelings for Scott, has to lie to him in order to make him believe that it isn't over between him and Ramona.]]
** Ramona [[spoiler:abandoning Scott]], followed by Kim [[spoiler:leaving Toronto.]]
** When [[spoiler:Scott is killed]], the sheer look of horror on everyone's faces, including previously ambivalent/jerkish characters, is a pretty powerful moment. [[spoiler:This is, however, followed up with some MoodWhiplash from Gideon offering to buy everyone drinks.]]

** Not that we can hear the music, but come on, the fight with the first ex culminating in a song battle is pretty damn awesome.
** Dare we mention "Invaders Must Die" by The Prodigy in TheMovie's trailer?
** In volume 6, [[spoiler: the song Envy sings, and the lousy cover of "I'm a Believer" by Shatterband]] are very awesome moments.
** The movie's version of Scott's fight with the Twins. "Threshold" is a pretty awesome song already, but the way it's ''used'' makes this quite the triumphant example.

* ExcusePlot: Though there still manages to be lots of talking. Although, this trope is YMMV at the very least.

* HateDom: Scott Pilgrim's reputation as a film/series with hipster appeal tends to turn the anti-hipster crowd away. Just try mentioning this on 4chan and see what happens. (and [[PlayingAgainstType what appeared to be]] a suspiciously typecast Michael Cera in TheMovie trailer didn't help)

* AmbiguouslyAutistic: Scott. Possibly a minor case, as he only displays some of the symptoms, and seems to have too much self-directed social ability and free will, but may simply have had fortunate circumstances/experiences/training in that regard. Nevertheless: Laser-focused on music and videogames, has difficulty articulating himself at times and acts extremely awkwardly around people he isn't familiar with, obsessively sorts his powerup drinks by color and alphabet, etc. Autistic people also have a very hard time picking up social cues, subtle signals, intuitively connecting to others, but usually care at least as much when they know (The difference between [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Empathy#Cognitive_versus_affective_empathy "cognitive" and "affective" empathy]]), they simply have a much harder time expressing it. This could explain what some would perceive as his most unthinkingly insensitive actions towards people he technically cares about.
