* AntiFrustrationFeature: The map, accessible after a fight with Magnus and Gamey [[spoiler:(or at the start, with the Zero Suit Derek picked)]], makes OneHundredPercentCompletion much more accessible.
** The levels are designed in a way that allows leaving them after the boss fights without much backtracking.

* ThatOneBoss: While much of the game is NintendoHard, most bosses are relatively easy once you've fought them a few times, and the final boss of the good and bad endings is [[AnticlimaxBoss even easier]]. And then there's [[spoiler:the Judge]], who is a GoddamnedBoss to {{Metroidvania}} veterans (because you have to beat all three of his forms and [[spoiler:climb most of the way out of the Abyss]] before you can save) and this to everyone else. His first form is as close to BulletHell as any platformer should dare to get, and getting hit ''at all'' by the other two will usually either knock you into a BottomlessPit or [[OneHitKill kill you outright]]. (Technically, he's a BonusBoss, but [[spoiler:reaching the Abyss without shooting any white rabbits, zombie Blemineg, or Gamey before his compact with Magnus]] forces you to fight him instead of the usual final boss, so he still counts.)

* ComplacentGamingSyndrome: The Spirit of Peace is ''far'' more useful than the other badges. It allows you to as it basically extends your health bar by the length of your grenade bar.

** Defeating
the length of boss in the mines gives you double damage, the ability to shoot underwater, and on your grenade bar.way there you're getting [[RecoilBoost a shotgun-powered]] DoubleJump. By comparison, defeating the boss in the Sunken City gives you the ability to breathe underwater (which at that point is more of an AntiFrustrationFeature) and a health bar extension, while the boss of the tombs gives you nothing but a MacGuffin. They can be defeated in any order, but starting with the first one makes things much easier.
