* WhatAnIdiot:
** Gathering 10-20 rings in 30 seconds in [[GreenHillZone Green Hill]] [[VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog1 Zone]] shouldn't be that hard no matter how old you are.
** Many contestants would blatantly disregard the ideal direction to move Mikey to the Goal. For example:
*** If the Goal was three spaces directly below Mikey's current position, a contestant might choose to move him left or right instead.
*** The few contestants who were [[TooDumbToLive stupid enough to go backwards on the board]] and activate the "Time Bomb", where they would have to [[NintendoHard pong-spell a word in ten seconds]] with each other to keep control of the board. One of these instances, however, had the teams do a loop around the top of the board and surround Mikey with Time Bombs, leaving the team in control with no choice but to head in the one direction that had just one Time Bomb in it and deal with that (in all other scenarios, team(s) trapping Mikey with a bunch of Time Bombs also prompt the end-of-round signal to sound when there's nowhere left to move).
*** In a ''WesternAnimation/RobotChicken'' skit, this was re-interpreted as a bunch of sadist contestants continually guiding a scared Mikey into literal time bombs set on each space on purpose until he was but a torso with a head, while Phil Moore kept up his infectious enthusiasm even as Mikey was blown to literal bits.
*** About half the time when Mikey was one space away from the Goal, contestants would move him in a different direction (if the Goal was one space right, for example, they would move him up). It is believed that many contestants would avoid the Goal on purpose (especially because Mikey almost-always ends up moving to the Goal automatically due to time constraints [[note]] if the teams take too long or move around the board in a way to trap Mikey in a sea of "Time Bombs" on the spaces they passed over, a synth xylophone buzzer sounds to send Mikey to the Goal automatically and prompt a sudden death question [[/note]]) in order to hunt for Prize and Bonus Point squares, although this usually didn't work out.
*** Some were stupid enough to try to move Mikey in a direction he couldn't even go. To make matters worse, Phil rarely paid attention to Mikey's spot leading to moments like this:
----> "Mikey's moving right... Oh, he ''can't'' move right! He's at the edge."
** Upon being asked the question "How much does an ounce of gold weigh?", one team responded with "14 ounces".
** One kid did an Arsenio Hall-esque "whoop-whoop" arm motion throughout the game to pump himself up. He continued doing this even as he and his teammate went down in a flaming sub-50 point defeat at the hands of the red team.
** Whoever wrote that question about ''{{Literature/Misery}}''. Seriously, who in the right mind would expect a typical child to correctly answer a question about an R-rated film adaptation of a Creator/StephenKing novel?
** On the ''Series/ClarissaExplainsItAll'' special, one of the video puzzles was to predict how many bricks out of 35 a Taekwondo expert could break in a minute. The yellow team's prediction? ''[[EpicFail 58]]''.
** Of all the contestant's failures in the Video Zone, Nadine's run--where she got stuck on the first level--[[https://www.dailymotion.com/video/xcsbfq sticks out the most]]. Her goal was to collect all of the coins in a temple while dodging obstacles, and to hit a light that'd clear out all the enemies. After getting hit a few times, she manages to find the first coin, and hit the light that clears the enemies.....only to get a major brainfart and get ''away'' from the coin. She then ''slowly'' and carelessly heads to the bottom to collect the others, only to get hit by spikes and thus have to restart, which she also takes her sweet time in selecting. By the time she seems to finally get into gear, the game ends.
