A lot of fans find their RomanticTwoGirlFriendship much more interesting than Twilight's barely there romance with Flash Sentry.

* RootingForTheEmpire: The Dazzlings have an ample amount of fans rooting for them to win, despite their [[TakeOverTheWorld world domination]] goal. It stems from EvilIsCool and EvilIsSexy tropes, which the Dazzlings exploit for all they're worth (being {{Enthralling Siren}}s and all). Other factors include [[BigBad the leader of the group]] being one of the most effective antagonists in the franchise, another member is a hilarious, adorable [[TheDitz ditz]] comparable to Pinkie Pie, many people think [[VillainSong their songs]] are by far superior to the main characters', they are only the second villains in the franchise to have a battle scene (Tirek was the first), firmly cementing the EvilIsCool factor, and the ''Equestria Girls'' series is polarizing in the first place, so some would rather have the villains win instead of the heroes.

** Even though Flash Sentry's arc in the movie is built around his Dazzling-influenced desire to win Battle of the Bands, his band is never actually heard and he never competes against the Rainbooms, with that role instead going to the otherwise narratively unimportant Trixie -- thus wasting a chance to build more substantial friction between himself and Twilight and/or Sunset.

It helps that she never does any intentionally cruel actions by herself, making it a bit too easy to assume she's only following the examples of Adagio and Aria.

** The introduction of the Dazzlings seems to have also been well accepted. While the first film had Sunset Shimmer as your typical AlphaBitch, these villains are clearly using evil magic on the students of Canterlot High and are that much more threatening for it.

* MagnificentBitch: Adagio Dazzle is the leader of the [[EnthrallingSiren Sirens]] and the brains behind everything they do. When they realize Equestrian magic has been brought into this world, Adagio plays a game of XanatosSpeedChess to locate the source of the magic in the Rainbooms and enflare tensions between them to make them fighting, letting the Sirens absorb their magic and regain their full powers. She balances this with using their singing to drive the school into a competitive frenzy, generating more and more energy for them to feed on while they await the Rainbooms giving into fighting. Along the way, save for frustration at her sisters [[TheDitz Sonata]] and [[GrumpyBear Aria]], Adagio stays calm, confident, in-control, and always ready to twist an unexpected turn of events to their favor.

* RonTheDeathEater: Many of Flash Sentry's haters are quick to hound upon his [[KickTheDog cruelty to Twilight]], never mind that [[NotHimself he was under the Dazzlings spell]] and reconciled with her immediately after he was broken out of it. Even more so if they use Shining Armor as a mouth piece in calling Flash out when he was under the same circumstances.

** Sunset Shimmer's redemption arc and promotion to protagonist of the ''Equestria Girls'' series ended up setting up this trope to Starlight Glimmer, who similarly started as a villain that went through a redemption arc and joined the cast as a supporting character. The {{Flame War}}s of which of them did it better tend to be heated ones, and [[RuleOfCautiousEditingJudgment let's leave it at that]].

* CounterpartComparison:
** Aria's MegaTwintails have sparked comparisons to [[Music/{{Vocaloid}} Hatsune Miku]]. The fact that she's an EvilDiva certainly helps (though Miku isn't evil [[OCStandIn unless you want her to be]]).
** The Dazzlings have also been compared to another trio of villains from ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender''.
--->'''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9XHLIPPW50 Huebert J. Flank]]:''' So then Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee infiltrate the Earth Kingdom!\\
''[MEEEEP]''\\
'''[[Creator/JoshScorcher Huebert J. Flank]]:''' Oh, sorry. ''[reading a sheet of paper]'' Adagio Dazzle, Sonata Dusk, and Aria Blaze infiltrate the school.\\
''[ding]''
** They are also similar to the Tremaines from ''Disney/{{Cinderella}}''. Adagio is Lady Tremaine, Aria is Drizella, and Sonata is Anastasia.
** They are also similar to [[WesternAnimation/WinxClub Icy, Stormy and Darcy a.k.a. the Trix.]] Some fans have also compared the Humane Six's transformations to that of the Winx - and [=AMVs=] with the Winx transformation music over them can be found online.
** Fans of ''WebAnimation/{{RWBY}}'' will no doubt find something familiar in a trio of mysterious villains led by a CreepyAwesome manipulator who infiltrate a school to further their plans.
** And then there's their resemblance to the Sanderson sisters from ''Film/HocusPocus''. But don't take our word for it, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHH60g3p07k see for yourself!]]
** They've also been compared to the Sirens from ''WesternAnimation/SamuraiJack''.
** The Dazzlings are also, albeit jokingly, compared to the [[Manga/JojosBizarreAdventure Pillar Men.]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoOW1Vvl2oU Case in point.]]
** An aggressive leader with a temper, lots of hair and a warm color palette, a blue-skinned girl who many expected to perform a HeelFaceTurn, and an apathetic SnarkKnight who utilizes a lot of green in her design. Are we talking about the Dazzlings or [[WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse the Homeworld Gems?]]
** And then there's their strong resemblance to [[Film/{{Heathers}} the]] Theatre/{{Heathers}}--Adagio being Heather Chandler, Aria being Heather Duke and Sonata being Heather [=McNamara=]. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mXiQJwZNps Exhibit A...]]
** Rarity is a pop musician with a keen sense for blending fashions from several eras, inspiring comparisons to Stevie Nicks and Joni Mitchell. As the directors said in the DVDCommentary, "What era is she from?" "I mean, guys, she ''does'' look fabulous."
