Moved in two items from the trope page that became YMMV

Added DiffLines:

* NintendoHard:
** Larger boards with more hidden mines require a larger amount of skill and luck to detect the location of mines.
** ''Crazy Minesweeper'' and ''Super Minesweeper'' contain modes with medium and large-sized bombs that count as two and three bombs respectively, making it harder to determine which tiles contain mines in a given area.

Added DiffLines:

* SelfImposedChallenge: It is possible to win a game of Minesweeper without ever setting down a flag. Some clones in particular have separate high scores for games that are finished with no flags dropped.

* MemeticMutation: Minesweeper Bosses [[labelnote:Explanation]]A meme started by video called [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PoupKIi1JMQ "Minesweeper Final Boss"]], featuring a mock-up of a 9 tile (due to the way the game works, an 8 is the highest number you can get in regular gameplay) set to a [[VideoGame/{{Undertale}} Megalovania]] remix. It has inspired a series of similar videos showing other hypothetical number tiles being set to boss music, including numbers of the [[NonNaturalNumberGag non-natural kind]] such as [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBc84M2h5BE negatives]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoTGLqD-ec4 fractions]], [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8QCsV3pNgQ irrational]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBc84M2h5BE numbers]] and even [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhalOEe6tIs infinities]].[[/labelnote]]

* OlderThanTheyThink: Many people came to know the game through Windows, but its origins go as far back as the 1960s. The LevelGoal system introduced in the Windows 8 version is derived from various games in the 1980s, such as ''Mined-Out'', ''Relentless Logic'' and ''XMines''.

No Damage Run was only YMMV due to a mistake. Moving this to the main work page.

* NoDamageRun: Outright required for the original game, but optional for ''Super Minesweeper'' at the cost of having some extra time placed on the clock when the game ends if you do accidentally uncover a mine or two.

* NightmareRetardant: The Vista/Windows 7 version has a mode that replaces mines with flowers that, when clicked, plays a very relaxing tune that would more likely be associated with winning than losing. Done in part to prevent NoExportForYou. There are parts of the world where mines are TruthInTelevision and including the game would prevent Windows from being sold there. So we get a pleasant field of flowers instead.

* AccidentalNightmareFuel: The game can become this when a player is very concentrated and suddenly clicks on a mine. Especially in the Vista/Windows 7 version where the mines actually make explosion noises when clicked. That and the way the smiley face in previous versions just sits at the top of the screen, staring, waiting for you to mess up.
