** Talarist. A relatively decent person who [[IDidWhatIHadToDo does what he has to do]] to survive and prosper in the cutthroat world of politics and can be a useful ally, potential mentor, and/or loving husband for Elodie? A complete BitchInSheepsClothing who only likes Elodie for her title and her womb? [[TakeAThirdOption Somewhere in between?]] A [[BreadMilkEggsSquick pedophile]]? Opinions are varied on his character and people can be quite vocal on how they feel about him. Making the debate worse is the fact that there's a lot of circumstantial evidence implying that he could be behind [[spoiler:Adair's assassination]] but no concrete evidence that he's the culprit. Even if directly asked in one of his marriage epilogues, he denies any involvement beyond simple opportunism, and the text notes that although Elodie has no reason to disbelieve him, she'll probably never know the whole truth.
*** The ending where Elodie marries him ''soon'' after the coronation mentions that he was apparently in no hurry to produce an heir, as he encouraged his wife to play with the exquisite horses he gifted to her and, on his part, enjoyed his new political position. * WhatAnIdiot:
** If you misallocate Elodie's skill points, she can make some very stupid decisions, such as refusing to fund a printing press or a field hospital and trying to push out an arrow after being shot.
** The chocolates deserve special mention. It's attached to ''several'' possible skill tests to unlock the option for her to do anything ''other'' than glut herself on poisoned candy. You still get the option to eat it, even if you pass them all.
** At the beginning of the game, her maid knows more geography than she does, and may have to awkwardly tell her that they don't own Sedna. Talasse borders Nova (and Sedna borders Elath), so it's not exactly obscure knowledge.
** When it comes time to adjust the royal budget, it now requires an accounting skill check to decide to just ''leave the tax rates alone''. Otherwise Elodie blindly messes with things she clearly doesn't understand.
** Some of Elodie's marriage decisions can fall into this, especially if she chooses to propose to someone whose family members she had previously executed. In the best-case scenario, they might simply reject her, otherwise she might find herself nearly killed, poisoned, or at war.
