** "''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjp1hVpMyx0 The Siamese Cat Song]]''". Its portrayal of the Siamese cats is rather... dated to say the least, but the song is still well sung and perfectly captures the sneaky and mischievous nature of Lady’s new guests.

IIRC "tramp" still means "homeless person" in the UK.

* ValuesDissonance: The portrayal of the two [[YellowPeril Siamese]] [[EthnicScrappy cats.]] It's no wonder that [[Film/LadyAndTheTramp2019 the live-action remake]] changes them into Devon Rexes and gives them a new song.
** The word "tramp" has changed its main colloquial meaning since the movie was made, with its modern connotation being aimed at women and decidedly less family-friendly. It's unlikely the word "tramp" would ever appear in a modern Disney animated movie unless it was specifically referencing this film. It makes the fact that there's an entire song about it HilariousInHindsight.

** The three vicious street dogs and the reason why they chase Lady. They don't like trespassers in their territory? They used to be guard or police dogs before becoming stray so anyone which they see as an intruder can set them off? [[FridgeHorror Or]], it's likely Lady was in heat at the time, given the BabiesAfterAfter ending and the fact that the puppies seem to have been conceived during that night's adventures with Tramp...

If the characters are still very loved today and not near as controversial as Si and Am, this doesn’t really count

* FairForItsDay: Tony and Joe's Italian stereotypes are far more cartoonishly exaggerated than Si and Am's, but haven't seen quite as many complaints because they are arguably the nicest characters in the movie, especially since they go out of their way to make a date for two ''dogs'' as romantic as possible.

how is having a non-princess female protagonist progressive? Sounds more like trivia (plus, Wendy predates Lady by 2 years)

** This is one of the earliest non-princess Disney movies with a female protagonist[[note]]Lady gets more focus than Tramp, having more screen time and ultimately it is her story we follow, not his[[/note]], though the fact that Lady still gets two DamselInDistress moments and [[spoiler:isn't the one to rescue Tramp]] seriously detracts from this.

Family Unfriendly Aesop is now Hard Truth Aesop, and the movie isn't actually trying to teach a lesson that animals shouldn't be left alone with kids.

* FamilyUnfriendlyAesop: Aunt Sarah insisting only cats should be left with babies. Leave it to Lady to prove she can. Now here's some real-talk: If you pay any remote attention to the news, one ''should'' be careful about leaving a baby or young child unattended around a pet. Doesn't matter how well trained you think they are, or if they are not a dangerous breed, animals can hurt them in an instant, intentionally or not. Cats can suffocate a baby unintentionally by laying on them, and dogs, even if the dog normally acts gently, may mistake them for a prey animal (not every dog instinctively understands that a baby is a small human), bite in response to a baby accidentally poking it in the eye or pulling at it, or try and pick it up like it is a toy or its own baby. A dog OR cat can easily kill a baby just by standing up too quickly, and accidentally knocking over its bassinet or stepping on it.
