LesYay: Fern/Vylette really comes off as a StalkerWithACrush towards Liz Purr. She obsesses over her, describes her as perfection and spends all her class time gazing at the beauty marks on the back of Liz's neck.

* OneSceneWonder: Jeff Conaway as Mr. Fox, Marcie's father. Even as the sensitive father who watches Oprah and his perceived [[InformedWrongness "corniness"]] (by Marcie, anyway), in his all too brief encounter with his daughter, [[GenreSavvy he was completely right]] [[BetaBitch about her position in life (and in the movie).]]

* [[SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome Crowning Moment Of Awesome]]: Courtney's responsibility for Liz's death is revealed to the school as she's crowned Prom Queen. * TrueArtIsIncomprehensible - For the kind of movie it is, there are some ''very'' surreal moments. Like the scene showing Fern's transformation into Vylette immediately.

* EpicRiff: ''Where to start?''

to:

* EpicRiff: ''Where to start?''Four whole albums worth, thankfully.

* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: The main reaction to ''Dear You'' upon its release in 1995, due to the much slicker production and Blake singing much more smoothly in comparison to the previous three Jawbreaker records.
* VindicatedByHistory: ''Dear You'' wasn't received all that well during its original release; however, fans started reconsidering their view of it after Jawbreaker broke up. When Adam Pfahler licensed it from Geffen Records and re-released it in 2004, there was a much more positive response.

!! The movie:

* WhatAnIdiot: Invoked in-universe, as this is pretty much Julie's reaction to Courtney upon learning she gagged Liz with a jawbreaker.

* TooDumbToLive: Courtney. When Fern/Vylette pissed her off, ''why didn't Courtney just find out a way to blame her?'' The fact that Fern had conveniently disappeared beforehand would have made it easy for Courtney to pawn the murder off on her!
