* AssPull: Several concerning the camping trip flashback.
** For starters, the idea that the Cerise and Fujihachi families would take a camping trip to the woods of Kalos, which are infamous for being the spot where children died, is terribly irresponsible even for people the story has repeatedly called out regarding their parental incompetence.
** Secondly, Chloe and Goh are just left to their own devices and allowed to walk away from the camping site. Again, this is a stretch even for allegedly irresponsible parents like Kurune and Ikuo, and the professor and Talia.
** While walking, Goh just happens to catch sight of a Shiny Vivillion, which is an ''extremely rare'' encounter to most people, and it leads him into a river with Chloe following along while only telling Goh to stop, to no avail.
** Goh jumps after the Vivillion, and he's such a bad swimmer he nearly ends up drowning. That's bad enough, but his phone ''just so happens'' to be in his pocket when this happens, meaning it gets ruined when he gets fished out.
** Moments later, Chloe's attention is caught by a Shiny Gourgeist, which comes moments after the Shiny Vivillion for a one-in-a-million back-to-back Shiny Spotting, and it helps Chloe take Goh to... A group of Gourgeists, leaving Chloe to go find a flower that will allegedly heal Goh instead of, maybe, asking the Gourgeist to get it for her, or just ditch the Pokémon in the first place and take Goh, her supposed friend, back to safety.

* EsotericHappyEnding: During the later part of the car, Goh and Chloe end up getting to talk (long story), and the boy eventually promises her that he's going to start go back to school until she returns, something that Chloe appreciates and thanks him for. All's well that ends well... except that the story has made no secret that Vermillion City School [[SuckySchool is probably one of the worst schools to go to]], as even without the [[GangOfBullies bullying around the school]], which could easily get Goh as a target instead of Chloe, it's populated by [[ApatheticTeacher teachers who don't care enough to do their job right]] and [[AdultsAreUseless are outright worthless in solving the bullying problem]]. Not only that, ''everybody'' in the school practically hates Goh, as revealed by Hannah and Daiki in the previous chapter, and it's no secret to them how he caused Chloe to get onto the Train, with the caveat that they also ''don't'' know about the details regarding what actually happen. In other words, what seems like Goh making a promise to cheer up Chloe seems more like Goh willingly entering a lion's den where he will be [[TraumaCongaLine bullied and mistrated in Chloe's place]] until she eventually returns, at the bare minimum, ''months later''.

Just thought of this and yikes, the story really skipped a very a significant issue with the promise. I mean, I'm pretty sure they're gonna be fixed, but as things are now, Goh's got a rough time coming for him.
