** When the plane takes off from New York, it's a twin-engine Convair CV-240. When it reaches cruising altitude, it's a four-engine Focke-Wulf Kondor. When it's diving into the ocean, on fire, it's stock footage of a stricken B-24 bomber from UsefulNotes/WorldWarII.

* HilariousInHindsight: The primary antagonist of the film is Gary, who mutates into a (sort-of) man-spider monster after being bitten by a giant, radioactive spider. [[ComicBook/SpiderMan Later that decade, a much more popular character bitten by a radioactive spider came about]].

** For that matter, '''do''' they take off from New York? The establishing shots of palm trees suggest Gary's office is in UsefulNotes/LosAngeles, but once the plane is in the air we see flyover stock footage of New York City.

* EnsembleDarkHorse: Fans of the [[Series/MysteryScienceTheater3000 MST3K]] episode seem to be rather fond of Babs. This is helped by the fact that she comes across as a fairly tough, no-nonsense, [[DeadPanSnarker snarker.]] Despite having a few JerkAss moments, she is one of the only women in the movie that has a distinct personality and is portrayed as relatively competent. Not hurting this at all is the fact that she is a huge source of FanService throughout the movie.
* LesYay: Two dancers insist they never dance in separate groups. Babs sneers she's had enough men. Of course, they all find the professor's assistants irresistable, so it could be a case of GirlOnGirlIsHot titilation.

* UnfortunateImplications: ''Loads.'' As Mike and the bots put it, apparently when you're a woman in a plane crash, you instantly become languid, helpless, and sex-starved, and you murmur a lot.
