* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: As funny as their cameos might be, it's easy for one to leave the theater feeling the characters of Reynolds and Hart could have used in a better way, especially given how unnecessary the latter is in the final film (he only serves to take the heroes to Samoa, which could have been perfectly replaced by one of the three mentioning a simple line like "I've got connections") and how the former's friendship with Hobbs is entirely PlayedForLaughs (except by the mid-credits scene, where he serves as a semi-humorous SequelHook). Madame M also sees very little screentime.

* HarsherInHindsight:
** Creator/KevinHart plays a guy who wants to get in on the action in a franchise built around car chases. Shortly after the film’s release, he suffered a horrific compound spinal fracture in a car accident.
** Brixton attempting to cull the population with a deadly virus becomes this after Idris Elba tested positive for the COVID-19 virus in March 2020 (he got better).

* HilariousInHindsight: Brixton at one point compares himself to Superman. Idris Elba would go on to play of Superman's enemies, Bloodsport, in ''Film/TheSuicideSquad''. Said film would also team Elba up with Wrestling/JohnCena, who played another supervillain in the next ''Fast & Furious'' film, ''Film/{{F9}}''.

* AssPull: Much like everything involving Cypher and Owen, the reveal that Deckard never actually betrayed [=MI6=] and was framed by Brixton is very clearly thrown in to make him more palatable as a hero following his HeelFaceTurn in the previous film. In a possible subversion, though, this kind of retcons have become so usual in the franchise that it might have weird ''not'' to expect to see it in the movie.

* CompleteMonster: [[TheHeavy Brixton Lore]] was once an agent for [[UsefulNotes/SecretIntelligenceService MI6]] before betraying them to join the terrorist organization [[NebulousEvilOrganisation Eteon]], killing his whole team and framing fellow agent Deckard Shaw for crime, forcing Deckard into hiding and becoming a criminal. Getting shot by Deckard, Brixton would be resurrected by Eteon and turned into a cyborg SuperSoldier, becoming their chief enforcer carrying out their nefarious plans; one of which involves unleashing the [[TheVirus super-virus]] "Snowflake" onto the world to eradicate one half of the world's human population. Pursuing Deckard's sister Hattie to retrieve the virus, Brixton would kill her whole team before framing her for the murders and attacks a CIA headquarters to kidnapped Hattie when she injects herself with the virus. Loosing Hattie to Deckard Shaw and Luke Hobbs, Brixton would torture Professor Andreiko about the trio's whereabouts and later tortures Hobbs and Shaw before Hattie rescues them, causing Brixton to travel to Samoa, hoping to kill them there.

* WhatAnIdiot: Brixton arms his men with "smart guns" that are [[EverythingIsOnline connected to the internet]] and can be brought offline and disabled by a skilled hacker. Brixton knows that the team he is going up against includes a skilled hacker in their number.\\
'''You'd Expect:''' Brixton would either arm his men with normal, un-hackable guns or at the very least find a workaround so that they can operate offline.\\
'''Instead:''' He does nothing and just has his men continue to use the wifi guns.\\
'''As A Result:''' Shaw's brother is able to bring their guns offline, forcing Brixton's men into a melee battle against Hobbs and his family, all of whom are extremely strong melee combatants.

* HoYay: More than one person has claimed that Hobbs has more sexual tension and chemistry with Shaw than he does with Hattie. Also doubles as FoeYay, considering that most of their interactions consist of bickering.

* EndingFatigue: The climax is action packed but goes on much longer then it should've. We got the fight against Brixton's forces against Hobbs family along with Shaw, a car chase and finally the final battle with Brixton himself which sets up a future baddie. [[StealthPun It's hard not to feel exhausted after three back to back climaxes.]]

* MemeticMutation: Brixton's line of declaring himself "black ComicBook/{{Superman}}" was memetic enough. Then another trailer came out where the plot involves Brixton getting his hands on a virus that is so potent it could wipe out half the population. Cue people insisting that Brixton is more "black ComicBook/{{Thanos}}" and using his "[[Film/AvengersInfinityWar perfectly balanced]]" quote.

* EndingFatigue: The climax is action packed but goes on much longer then it should've. We got the fight against Brixton's forces against Hobbs family along with Shaw, a car chase and finally the final battle with Brixton himself which sets up a future baddie. * OverlyLongGag: The retinal scan scene, where Shaw tries to bypass a retinal scanner by hauling a dozen unconscious mooks and scanning them ''one at a time''. [[BrokenRecord "''ACCESS DENIED. ACCESS DENIED. ACCESS DENIED. ACCESS...]]
