Seemingly trying to weasel an "arguable" non-YMMV trope in by putting it in YMMV

* JerkassBall: People might find Gretel's grounding by her parents in "Grounded" unnecessarily cruel just for forgetting to do the dishes before bedtime, all so there'd be a reason for this episode to exist. However, Gretel does have a reputation of trying to get out of her dishwashing chores, Carolina did state that she's putting her foot down this time, and Gretel did intentionally abandon her task just to look for U.F.O's (which her parents can't even know about), and did not return until bedtime, and the grounding only lasts a weekend, so others may find the punishment Justified.

Also, what has Bobby Kotick to do with ANYTHING here?!

..."no proof"? Dude, this was all CLEARLY STATED IN THE EPISODE. Gretel DOES have a reputation of trying to weasel her way out of doing the dishes in "Grounded" (and "Superhero Sibling Rivalry"), Carolina DID state she was putting her foot down in "Grounded", Gretel DID intentionally abandon her task to look for UF Os in "Grounded", and was CLEARLY shown to not come back until bedtime in "Grounded", and Carolina LITERALLY stated Gretel was going to spend the weekend in her room in "Grounded". Did you pay ANY attention when watching the episode?!

Even if she did, you have no prove! And even if you did have proof, which you don’t.. it would no doubt be poorly edited! So tell Bobby Kotick that he brought this series’ downbringing on himself!!

Added DiffLines:

* DemographicallyInappropriateHumour: A couple of surprisingly adult references made it in some episodes:
** In "Abuelita's World", after Hamster and Gretel have revealed her superpowers to Abuelita and Kevin notes their parents don't know about this, Abuelita reveals that she used to be a go-go dancer before Carolina was born, in turn making Kevin and Gretel grandchildren of a whore. Kevin and Gretel have an appropriate response.
** In "U.F. UH-OH!", Gretel tries to warn Kevin about them driving the U.F.O. into the dam, by yelling "DAM!" Kevin mistakes this for an AtomicFBomb and berates her for using foul language.
** In "Sleepover with the Enemy", Gretel chases after a truck commandeered by Tina, as she and her Bolgylvanian cohorts are kidnapping Bailey and her dad. As Gretel flies next to the truck inside the tunnel, Tina instructs her cohorts to use the truck to crush Gretel against the wall, which leaves a large crack and a lot of ABloodyMess red substance... which turns out to be ketchup from a packet Gretel had in her pockets, but it's still surprisingly graphic.
*** This particular scene is notable for being included in the "Respect the Unexpected" promo, with the ketchup reveal snipped out. Out of context, the scene really does look like a GoryDiscretionShot, surprising nearly everyone about the BloodierAndGorier scene.

Added DiffLines:

* FandomRivalry: A handful of vocal Owl House fans think their serious, serial show got cut short (as the series was cancelled, renewed for only 3 more specials, because it "does not fit the Disney brand"), in favor of the more episodic and comedic Hamster & Gretel, and got ready to call the end of an era for Disney Television Animation for shifting their focus from serial shows to "kids-only" shows (despite the fact that Hamster & Gretel has an ongoing plotline and sometimes adult humor).
** Naturally, those same handful of Owl House fans were pissed at the "Sleepover with the Enemy" scene detailed above as was shown in the commercial. They were quick to call hypocrisy on Disney's part for cancelling The Owl House for "not fitting the Disney brand" when the entire show was nearly not as graphic as Gretel getting "violently crushed by a truck and leaving blood on the wall" in that one particular scene.

Broken Base is when one thing in a work becomes the subject of a great conflict between two or more large and vocal factions. I've heard no one talk about "Grounded" with these specific complaints, so needless to say, this is NOT Broken Base, just a single negative opinion. Also, this take makes no sense either: Carolina clearly said that Gretel MUST do the dishes before bedtime (and clearly stated that she's "putting her foot in" (down)), so Gretel has no other choice but to obey. She clearly disobeys by abandoning her task in order to look for a UFO (which her parents can't know about) and didn't come back until bedtime, so her getting grounded (for ONE weekend) is a fine enough punishment for trying to get out of doing the dishes for the umpteenth time. And, the whole correlation you're making with the "Gets grounded" videos makes no sense either. You DO realize that getting grounded is a concept MUCH OLDER than those Go Animate meme videos, and most often have NOTHING to do with said meme videos? tl;dr, this whole thing makes no sense.

* BrokenBase: "Grounded" doesn’t feel right, Gretel shouldn’t be chewed out just for a minor infraction! She did what she had to do, and she got punished just because she forgot to do a simple chore! It’s bad enough those "Gets Grounded" videos are popping up on Website/YouTube, we DON’T need them to show up on Disney Channel or any family friendly network!

You can tell her voice actor put a lot of energy into it to capture Gretel's character.
