* TheScrappy: Spitz, Mikey, Samantha, Billy, the two comic relief Cops.... Really, it's just a cast full of Scrappies. [[spoiler: Thankfully they all die by the end of the movie, except for Billy (who's mercifully the least offensive of them]]

Added DiffLines:

** A lot of fans generally consider Michael's crying to be a VillainDecay moment. The viewpoint being that Michael crying kills the scary aura of him and the original concept of Michael being pure evil .

* AssPull: The Man In Black. WordOfGod claims that they didn't even know who he should be before the next film was made.

to:

* AssPull: AlasPoorScrappy: Despite [[spoiler: Tina]] being disliked, she dies sacrificing herself so that Jamie can get to safety.

* EnsembleDarkhorse: A lot people think that Jamie is the only reason to watch this movie, primarily for Danielle Harris giving a great performance and the fact she doesn't actually do anything obnoxious.

** Likewise a lot of fans were furious at [[spoiler: Rachel]] getting killed off, claiming she would have made a better protagonist than Tina.

** It should be noted though that Donald Pleasence's confused delivery of "Cookie Woman... Cookie Woman???" is the best line in the film.
* TheScrappy: Tina for many.
** Spitz, Mikey, Samantha, Billy, the two comic relief Cops.... Really, it's just a cast full of Scrappies. [[spoiler: Thankfully they all die by the end of the movie, except for Billy (who's mercifully the least offensive of them]]

* SignatureScene: The only other reason to watch this movie besides Danielle Harris's performance is to see Loomis take Michael down. Even vocal detractors loved it. Loomis traps Michael in a net, shoots him with tranq darts, and then proceeds to wail on him with a 2x4. Even a stroke can't stop the BadassGrandpa.

Added DiffLines:

** The PeekABooCorpse in the attic. As if Jamie hadn't been through enough up to that point.

* {{Tearjerker}}: Though the scene where Micheal is called uncle, sheds a tear, takes off his mask, and reels back in shame when Jamie tries to touch him could be considered narm, consider this. Micheal may be FAR from sympathetic, but it seemed that there was at least some bit of humanity in his heart. Considering that he never openly takes any joy in killing (just pure emotionless killing, with some sinister tendencies), this implies that Micheal is a slave to evil. A disease that can never, EVER be cured. And for a moment...he knew this.

** Even Rachel, and Loomis suffer from this due to extensive CharacterDerailment. Loomis has turned into an AxeCrazy psychopath, and Rachel is a ditzy blonde who could care less about Jamie's well being.
** In fact, Michael himself qualifies, with this being seen as his worst outing due to tearing up, which many fans see as a horrendous example of CharacterDerailment. [[JumpTheShark Introducing the man in black]] just made it worse.

** Retconning the twist ending of 4 is seen as this too.

* EnsembleDarkhorse: A lot people think that Jamie is the only reason to watch this movie, some even find her puppy love subplot with Billy to be the best part of the film. Billy counts as well due to being so kind and loving to Jamie, when the character really needs it.
