* AudienceAlienatingPremise:
** Many have dismissed the film for being a remake of ''Film/{{Ghostbusters 1984}}'' instead of a sequel (as the trailer text sort of implies with "30 years ago", but it's appealing to nostalgia instead). Others would have preferred that there be no more ''Ghostbusters'' movies, especially since Creator/HaroldRamis (Egon) has passed away and it's now impossible to get the whole original crew back together.

** The original's tight script that provided realistic drama with excellent and fast moving one liners is replaced with a much sillier feel where a huge chunk of the jokes are slow moving pieces of rambling improv. The sheer difference in both movie's respective approaches to comedy is jarring, and many fans of the original didn't care for this reboot's feel being so dissimilar to the original.
