* WhatAnIdiot:
** In ''New Getter Robo'', Ryoma at one point tells Benkei that Michiru would fall for him if he shows her his [[UnusualEuphemism little warrior.]] He actually buys this. Justified, given that Benkei has lived a very sheltered life and as a result, he has NoSocialSkills.
** One for entries that end up in villains trying to prevent the Getter Emperor's universal rampage. The villains never just ''ask'' humans to stop using Getter Rays, not even explaining their actions until the final battle, where the heroes are fighting against an invading threat. After all that violence and death for things that they hadn't done yet, is it any wonder that, once Getter Emperor shows up in the future, humanity rampages in the first place? In some entries the villains ''do'' give humankind a chance to stop all research on Getter Rays, but Professor Saotome's obsession is so strong that he simply ignores their demands and carries on, provoking their anger.

* With Gurren Lagann Fans: Getter Robo fans tend to get annoyed by Gurren Lagann fanboys for thinking it's the most badass, manliest mecha anime. The fact that Gurren Lagann takes heavy inspiration from Getter doesn't help. At the same time. Getter fans will acknowledge the respect Gurren Lagann's creator has for Getter Robo given he is it's self-proclaimed #1 fan.

* AudienceAlienatingPremise: ''Darkness'' is generally held up to be the ''worst'' adaptation of Getter Robo, with the most cited reasons being the gratuitous sexual assault and gore, the decidedly ''un''-Ishikawa character designs and fan-favorite character Musashi being needlessly gender-flipped and made into a BuxomIsBetter MsFanservice. Its unpopularity lead to it seemingly being quietly cancelled during its hiatus.

** You would think that someone subjected to TheyKilledKennyAgain usually qualifies as MemeticLoser, right? Not for Musashi's fans. No matter which continuity it is, Musashi's death are chock full of [[DyingMomentOfAwesome awesome moments]]. Special mention goes to his ''Shin vs Neo'' incarnation, where he manages to take out the entire Dinosaur army alongside Manhattan at the cost of his life. Even Getter Emperor is impressed enough that it creates army of Musashi clones out of its memory, although the status doesn't apply to them.
*** To lesser extent, all 3rd pilots, especially Benkei, also gain this status.

Other characters are quick to forget this, even after he tries to kill them all almost immediately after getting control of the Getter, though this is because Hayato is quick to prove himself as a skilled pilot and a reliable hero.
