** As shown in CounterpartComparison Bart was paired up with Stewie, while Lisa was paired with Meg. However Bart and Meg share far more in common with each other the either of them have with Stewie and Lisa. Both are the first born child and are abused and neglected by their parents because they resent them for being born. Which has caused them to act out to get some form of attention even if it’s negative and when they do get positive attention it causes a drastic change in personality. For Bart he becomes a much better person while Meg goes full {{Yandere}}. Finally both are shown to be better musicians than Lisa.

** The stolen car wash scene serves as this, both in and out of universe. It involves Homer and Peter, but overweight and plain-featured older men, doing the "sexy car-wash routine", clad in skimpy female tops & shorts with lots of slow-motion closeups of them grinding and pouring water over themselves and jiggling their flab.

* DudeNotFunny: In-universe. Part of the crossover deal is to show what different standards of BlackComedy both shows have - whereas ''Family Guy'' often rely on [[RefugeInAudacity over-the-top violence]] and overly vulgar humor, ''The Simspons'' has always been somewhat lighthearted by comparison (doesn't mean they don't have dark humor though, look at the ''Treehouse of Horror'' series). The Simpsons family react accordingly to their respective counterparts because of this. Bart is weirded out when Stewie makes a rape joke phone call to Moe, and kidnaps all of Bart's enemies; Nelson, Jimbo, Principal Skinner, Sideshow Bob and [[OddNameOut Apu]] (although [[ActuallyPrettyFunny Bart gets a good laugh at Stewie saying]] [[JustForPun he "took Apu"]]). Lisa is creeped out by Meg risting in her name on her arm so she'll always remember her (although, when you know [[ButtMonkey Me]][[TheWoobie g]], it's kind of justifiable).

* AuthorsSavingThrow: When asked about Quagmire, Homer has no idea who he is - effectively applying either a DiscontinuityNod or full-on CanonDiscontinuity to the ''Family Guy'' episode where Quagmire rapes Marge and murders the Simpsons family.
** Realistically, though, no one should ever take a cutaway gag as canon unless it's explicitly referred to in a later point in the series. That gag, while absolutely horrible, was most likely never in canon to begin with, and was a result of the shows' writing team going overboard in their TakeThat to ''The Simpsons''. Even Seth MacFarlane stated that he regretted letting it be put in afterward the episode aired.

** Peter's TheReasonYouSuckSpeech. ''The Simpsons'' not being as good as it used to be is not a unique complaint. It's practically a BottomOfTheBarrelJoke. And while few will disagree, or even feel that ''Family Guy'' has been mostly good in the time that their competition has lost steam, to many others, it comes off as the pot calling the kettle black, especially since there were complaints of ''Family Guy'' [[SeasonalRot rotting]] as early as it's [[{{Uncanceled}} uncancellation]] while ''The Simpsons'' at least has the excuse of [[LongRunner being on the air for nearly three decades]] for the strain on it's creativity.

** Peter's TheReasonYouSuckSpeech. Yes, fans have gone on record mentioning ''The Simpsons''[='=]s SeasonalRot in their complaints, but that largely due to being a LongRunner and opinions vary when it happened. But the ''last'' person they want to hear it from is Peter whose fans have been complaining of his show going downhill since it came back from cancellation... in season four (though the Writers Guild strike from 2007-2008 is really when the show started to deteriorate in quality, since season five is considered by some fans to be better than season four. Everything after season five is very hit or miss, with seasons six, seven, and ten being a big miss while eight and nine were hits).
