** In "Tinker Ed", we're supposed to feel sorry for Jimmy because Kevin tells her that fairy tales aren't real. But maybe if Jimmy hadn't been running around the library and shrieking at the top of his lungs when Kevin was minding his own business and trying to study, maybe Kevin wouldn't have messed with him in the first place.

But maybe if Jimmy hadn't been running around the library and shrieking at the top of his lungs when Kevin was minding his own business and trying to study, maybe Kevin wouldn't have messed with him in the first place. What makes it worse is that Kevin had already politely asked Sarah and Jimmy to keep it down, only for Sarah to start loudly reading reading the fairy tale just to irritate Kevin ForTheEvulz.

** In the episode "The Ed-Touchables" lines like "There's a serial toucher on the loose!" have some very unfortunate implications if taken out of context.
** Double D's name alone can be an innuendo, and is in fact used by one in a commercial featuring a blind date between Ed and Daphne.

* AwesomeMusic: The entire score to the show could qualify. It's composed entirely of energetic, free-form jazz.

** After years of being the show's fan favorite, Double D is slowly starting to gain a notable backlash to him because of how popular he used to be, due to a combination of him often stealing the spotlight away from the other characters (and most importantly, the other Eds) and having his positive traits cracked UpToEleven (while everyone else has their negative traits Flanderization Flanderized in turn) to the point he ends up becoming an insufferable PossessionSue in almost any fanwork he appears in. The 2013 Kevedd craze certainly didn't help matters, either.

*** Similarly, did the series suffer SeasonalRot after it was Un Canceled? Reactions range from believing so to be the case, to others saying that they're either just as good as the pre-cancellation episodes or not quite as good but, overall, still pretty funny and enjoyable in their own right.

* GodModeSue[=/=]VillainSue: Kankers. They almost always succeed in whatever they plan, especially if they want to torment the Eds. Unlike everybody else, they never got any serious comeuppance for their misdeeds, even in the Movie.

* JerkSue: Kevin and Sarah have frequent moments of this.
** Eddy, being despised by everyone but his friends, is an interesting variation. Ed and Edd remain loyal to him, even if it means getting involved in yet another doomed-to-fail scheme, being treated like shit (Brother, Can You Spare An Ed?, for example) and getting punished for their involvement.

** While Edd is smart, sane and problably the most sympathetic character in the show, fangirls tend to crank his positive qualities UpToEleven and turn him into a MartyStu, totally forgetting about his flaws (SuperOCD, physical weakness, judgmental nature, nagging and overreacting tendencies, lack of spine etc.). Also, some fans act like he never did anything wrong and think that every other character in the show is either a jerkass or a moron. Some people hate him for this exact reason.

* RefugeInAudacity: Even for this show, some moments and implications are so cartoonishly violent that they go from tasteless to CrossingTheLineTwice. Some examples: the Kanker sisters setting up an elaborate trap to marry the Eds using a toy train and a haunted house in "Honor Thy Ed," the house collapsing after Ed breaks the support beam (because he's tied to it) in "Rent-A-Ed," and Sarah taking Nazz out with a car (as in "She picks up an actual-sized car and throws it at her").

** Don't forget Kevin. He is disliked for being a total Jerkass to the Eds even when they aren't doing anything to him ("Your Ed Here", "Smile For the Ed"), as well as being a real KarmaHoudini and treated as a JerkSue by the other kids. Granted, he usually has a good reason to hate the Eds, but other times his cruel tendencies is cranked UpToEleven.

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: Kevin in This Won't Hurt an Ed. The viewer is supposed to feel sorry for him because Eddy kept exploiting his fear of needles. However, considering that the episode aired after Your Ed Here, among his other JerkAss moments, some wanted Eddy to give Kevin what he deserves for once.

* UrbanLegend: One surfaced as early as 2001 about an infamous MissingEpisode known only as "The Scarecrow Boy Episode." The story goes Sarah puts on a play - her own version of Film/TheWizardOfOz - casting herself as Dorothy, Jimmy as the Tin Man, Eddy as the Cowardly Lion (apparently he was also tied to a chair the whole time because he kept trying to walk out on Sarah so much), Ed as the Scarecrow, and Double D as the director. Sarah becomes outraged with Ed continuously blowing his lines, and ends up kicking and locking him out of the house (while still in costume); when Kevin and other kids in the cul-de-sac see Ed roaming around, they keep calling him "Scarecrow Boy," which somehow causes Ed to grow stiffer and stiffer everytime he hears the name. Eventually, the episode ends with Plank nestled into the ground, and Ed standing ontop with his arms straight out, as if he has become a real Scarecrow Boy. There is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that remotely proves such an episode exists, though many fans swear to have seen it, and that it only aired once, which gives it its UrbanLegend status.

** Sarah, for being unnecessarily cruel to the Eds and receiving almost no comeuppance for her wrongdoings. Probably the most hated of the show, probably more than Kevin.

** Also in 'All Eds Are Off', Eddy doesn't win the money in the end of the episode because he tried to cheat, but can you blame him for being pissed off about Ed's eating habits when he got a detention when Ed spilled his gravy mix in the pool?

** In the movie, although Lee and May shown hints of genuinely caring about their Eds, Marie said, "Ain't nobody beats on my man but me!" So...it's not O.K. if the others beat Edd up. but it's O.K. if you beat him up? Does she really care about Edd or is she [[NotSoDifferent no different than the others, who tried to beat the Eds up?

* UnintentionallySympathetic: Eddy in "Sorry, Wrong Ed" is considered this. People feel bad for him for all the curses he suffers from answering the cursed telephone despite the fact that he brought it upon himself for digging it up even after Rolf, former owner of the phone, has already warned him of the curse.

However, most of the fans that see Eddy as the sympathetic type in this episode seem to be more upset over the fact that Edd shows no concern over what happens to Eddy, even after all the shit that happened to Eddy was right in front of him.
