* BrokenBase: Fans of ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'' either see this as a nice tribute to the show, its creator LaurenFaust, and her husband, CraigMcCracken, or are disappointed that, for a fan made project that was supposed to be "accurate to the show", it ended up having a poorly paced plot that's similar to fanfiction and littered with cultural references and memes. The fact that the [[spoiler: crossover aspect]] was a completely unexpected plot twist also didn't help.

** Zachary Rich has stated since the film's release that while he might have started with the intentions of making the short "accurate to the show", he quickly realized that this could potentially make the effort underwhelming in contrast to the actual show. Thus early on quickly hitting on the crossover concept that would be more a tribute to Faust.
* {{Fanon}} : Some fans felt the use of the Fanon idea of [[spoiler: Pinkie Pie's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0OKxomJeQw reality warping]]]] went against the concept of staying true to the show.
** People have also criticized the Scootachicken joke, as it came without context, is focused on too long to be a FunnyBackgroundEvent, and ultimately is a huge non-sequiter for anyone who doesn't understand the joke - exactly how ''not'' to handle a reference.

The reaon I put that there was because that was one of the scenes being accused of using fanon. It\'s not. It\'s just a joke, not commenting on a supposed \"Truth\" that fans think is canon. What\'s more, as I showed, the \"scootaloo is a chicken\" joke shows up in the show, too, so the accusation of this being \"Fanon\" is absurd. When we get down to it, Pinkie Pie\'s reality warping powers aren\'t even fanon, because they happen a number of times. Granted, they happen with Twilight and Trixie, too. The only thing that happened here was they were exaggerated.
