Specifically, the revelation that he had been manipulating and controlling AIDA behind the scenes, and that his ultimate goal was to use AIDA as mass mind control over all of humanity. But the biggest blow against him was his treatment of Atoli, who had long been one of his strongest supporters. Turns out he had met her on a suicide website, preyed on her fears about being alone and considered worthless, effectively brainwashed her into depending on him, and then {{Mind Rape}}d her to bring out the power of her Epitaph. When all of his plans fail and he gets infected with AIDA himself, he then spends the first half of the final volume putting together a sadistic tournament for the sole purpose of making Haseo and the rest suffer (harming quite a few others in the process), and ''laughing'' at the pain he's causing.

* DisappointingLastLevel: After testing Skeith's ultimate form, the rest of the FinalBoss fight is done with the regular playable characters. Futhermore, most of the next fights against doppeldangers and the final one will barely pose a challenge if the player already defeated the doppeldangers from Disc 1 and 2.

* ChewingTheScenery: It's easier to count the character's that ''don't'' do this at some point.
** Notably, Haseo might be the worst offender. He's a massive DeadpanSnarker with NoIndoorVoice who's hotheaded temperament frequently means he'll get into shouting matches with whoever he's with, especially in volume 1. There are no less than ''nine times'' in volume 1's cutscenes ''alone'' where there is a zoom-in on Haseo's face as he's screaming his head off about something.

** The new [=PS4=] and PC version, due to being a compilation release, is likely to fix most of these issues, and create proper parity between the three versions.

* WhatAnIdiot: Some of CC Corp's decisions are so bad you'd think they were ''trying'' to get The World shut down, but [[spoiler:kowtowing to Sakaki – an AxCrazy ten-year-old boy drunk on AIDA – and making him a '''system administrator''']] is in a category of stupid all on its own.

* Reality Ensues: As of Reconnection, R2 is imminently shutting down after people terminate subscriptions as a result of CC Corp's mismanagement of the AIDA crisis

Of all the things Haseo's "bunch of computer data" rant at the end of the area gets wrong, the fact that the Lucky Animal is programmed and doesn't have emotions is the one thing ''does'' apply to and is understandable why it's what pushes Haseo over the edge the most.
** Sakaki at the beginning of Volume 1 - before Haseo's Data Drain - smugly spouts his ideals to Haseo. Atoli comes up and Haseo sees her as Shino, at which point Sakaki notes it's not unusual that other players share that same design. If Haseo had listened to nothing else but that line, a lot of his troubles between him and Atoli in Volume 1 would be solved.
