** According to the Nightmare Knight, the first Disaster Masters were flawed, which accounts for why Splashmaster was DumbMuscle, and Mutemaster and Noisemaster are TheDividual. Following after them, Rosemaster's trans identity seems to be implied to be a flaw, though likely only accidentally. Additionally, describing the Disaster Masters are flawed and pointing to Splashmaster's intelligence as an example echoes real world prejudice against mentally impaired people.

* IKnewIt: In Chapter 3, enough hints were dropped in the story that several readers figured out the exact nature of [[spoiler:Rosemaster's [[LaserGuidedAmnesia memory manipulation]]]] before it was explained in the story itself. Consequently, the true identities of [[spoiler:King Aster, King Sunflower, and Princess Azalea]] were deduced some time before TheReveal.

** Also relating to Chapter 3, [[spoiler:Saturday]] being the missing Flower Kingdom princess was once a common theory, but mostly forgotten after [[spoiler:Azalea]]'s introduction... which is likely how the reveal that [[spoiler:Saturday ''is'' Azalea]] went all but unnoticed.

* ViewerGenderConfusion: Cosmo. Possibly. Assumed to be male, but there really isn't an indication of Cosmo's true gender. No one in the comic has actually used the word "he" or "she" yet. For her part, Gigi is intentionally keeping Cosmo's gender vague.
** Glitchmaster, though justified considering her appearance.

** Mr. R managed to capture the hearts and minds of the people before he even uttered a line of dialogue and his popularity seems to only be set to increase with time.

* CryForTheDevil: When Almond yells at Cucumber for trying to talk to the Nightmare Knight, she says "it's just a trick". This makes the Nightmare Knight flashback to a previous legendary hero who says the same thing when the Nightmare Knight attempts to talk to him and his sister, to be given the same reply. It gives a hint that the Nightmare Knight was once more hopeful and amenable to working things out, but the endless cycles of resurrections and heroes has worn him down.

* BaseBreaker: Fans are divided on Almond; she receives the lion's share of the focus over the ostensible protagonist Cucumber, while being hypercompetent and even her mistakes turn out for the best. Some find her a boring character because of this, while others argue that part of the story is subverting conventional hero roles and she's fulfilling Cucumber's role as the legendary hero.

Some find her a boring character because of this, while others argue that part of the story is subverting conventional hero roles and she's fulfilling Cucumber's role as the legendary hero. For her part, Gigi considers Almond and Cucumber both the main protagonists, but some still point out that Cucumber still hasn't had much opportunity to step outside of other people's shadows.

* RootingForTheEmpire: Rosemaster, being a compelling and sympathetic villain with an excellent flair for the dramatic, had more than one fan saying they wanted ''her'' to win during the BossBattle in Chapter 3.

** Rosemaster was such a compelling villain that numerous readers told Gigi they wanted to see ''her'' win, rather than the heroes. [[spoiler:Finding out she's actually an AntiVillain who had long questioned her orders to hurt people that never hurt her and was actually ''happy'' to learn of the Nightmare Knight's sabotage added even more.]]
