It's especially jarring given how good they looked standing still at the end of Season 3.

* SeasonalRot: While things were getting a little murky come the second season, it still managed to attract fans and keep telling a relatively compelling storyline. Season 3, however, is where most fans agree the show really started falling apart, with many plots seeming only half-developed or rushed, and everyone turning on each other at the drop of the hat, making the heroes ''and'' the villains pretty unlikable for once. It also doesn't help this season decided to play heavy with a time travel plot to RetGone the ending of Season 2, played up an obvious EvilTwin plot with [[spoiler: Alec]], and in general had many of the characters suffer from CharacterDerailment. It's also a major sticking point this was the season that caused the network to cancel the show, approving just one more mini-season (only 6 episodes) to wrap things up.

* SpecialEffectFailure: When [[spoiler:Past!Alec]] is stabbed in the neck and then pulls it out, the resultant blood spurt is pretty...lackluster. The neck has some pretty big vessels, and arterial spray is known for flying ''feet'' from the victim if it's a big enough hole (given the object he was stabbed with, it had to be a big hole). There's also the way it squirted ''more'' after he'd already collapsed, rather than an initial surge of blood and then weaker dribbles as his heart ran out of blood and ceased pumping.

The first example doesn\'t have enough context, the second is straight up wrong in my recollection, and no conversations on these pages.

* IdiotBall.
** Season 1: You'd think Sonja, a genius doctor, would know how to make sure someone's dead. She must have self-sabotaged.
** Season 2, Episode 6: Kiera comes out to Carlos about being a time traveller. Of course he things she's nuts. Why didn't she just show him that future tech super suit she wears everywhere? Or demonstrate one of her cyborg superpowers?
*** Correct me if I'm wrong, but the suit may have been broken at that point in the story.
