* VindicatedByHistory: It was nearly FranchiseKiller thanks to several meddling and some unnecessary additions. But as time passed on, this series is still looked upon more favorably since it also has more memorable moments and some of the characters' acting were pretty good.

* CompleteMonster:[[spoiler:Vulgyreserves as the true antagonist. A plant-like alien who once coveted the hand of Princess Meadow, after she refused him, he took her life. Later impersonating her, he would use her as his figurehead, creating the Galactic Imperial Army Zone with the purpose of destroying 1000 inhabited planets with the hope of becoming immortal and the God of the Milky Way. After succeeding in destroying 999, he made his way to Earth to complete his goal. He forcefully transformed his general Doldora and her subordinate into a mindless monster after they discovered the truth about him and refused to continue working for him. He helped turn Chevalier into a killer to corrupt his soul with the blood of his victims, with the purpose of killing him off later to gain a power-up. Later becoming Galactic Super Beast Vulgyre, he launched an attack on the city and it was shown that he had kept the soul of Meadow from moving on just so he could have her for himself. Vulgyre is obsessed with pleasing only himself, uncaring to the countless innocents whose lives that he took and has one of the highest body counts in the history of the franchise.]]

** Then we have Galois, after destroying the Fivemen's HumongousMecha, but not the Fivemen themselves, he decides to draw them out, by attacking their school full of children. The scene with the children running to escape like they're about to die cements it. Shortly before these happens, he has dropped his ButtMonkey status, if you didn't notice.

* FanFavorite: Remi is rather popular, both character-wise and actress-wise. Guess who reappears in Series/KaizokuSentaiGokaiger to represent this series.

If he showed regret, then probably not so much. Then again this is YMMV

** Billion has a two-fer in back to back episodes. First he tricks a girl that loves him and wants to protect the Earth into fighting against the Fivemen, stabs her when she gets in his way in battle, tells her that he never cared about her, and she loved him to the end, even wanting him to be the one to finish her off.
** In the very next episode, Billion gets a sword that makes its user BrainwashedAndCrazy, as well as giving them evil powers. He gets one of Gaku's kendo students to use it, preying on the fact that the kid wants to be stronger in order to protect his parents because he knows the Fivemen won't kill the kid.

YourMileageMayVary on this one considering that it was her who pushed Billion's sword through her neck, and even Billion was genuinely shocked at this action and even sends her flowers from afar at her death.

No YourMileageMayVary elements on this, definitely.

* CrowningMomentOfAwesome - Ken defeats the MonsterOfTheWeek without transforming into Five Blue to teach his students that regular humans can overcome their limits.
* CrowningMomentOfFunny - The whole Episode 26. Watch as a Zone tradition day 'Topsy Turvy Day' made the usually ruthless Galois, Doldora, Billion and Saza turn into goofball slaves for the {{Mook}}s and the MonsterOfTheWeek!
** Chevalier's taunting the Fiveman's song is kinda funny in a way too (done in the episode when Fumiya and Remi cannot transform):
