* GoodTroiEpisode: "The Sissy." Compared to the usually more overwrought and hateful tracts, this one actually takes a far more gentle tone that is almost approaches [[MisterRogersNeighborhood Fred Rogers]]' style for Chick with a beefy Christian trucker witnessing with a measure of sociability.

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Well, bronze maybe, but the author really does seem to want to save people from Hell. His comics that feature the FamilyUnfriendlyAesop of people doing good deeds and still ending up in Hell, while people praying at their deathbed can literally get away with murder, seem to be made because many people think that the good deeds should count, and Chick wants to warn people that, according to him, God doesn't give a damn about your good deeds. Or rather, [[IncrediblyLamePun he does give a damn]]. Of course his message might get through a little better if he didn't assume that every person on the planet is either a proper Christian, an ignorant one conversation away from being a Christian or a CardCarryingVillain.

in-story, God acts are portrayed positively. It disqualifies him by the very first requisite

* CompleteMonster: Played straight, played with, and done unintentionally. The demons in the tracts are just evil for the fun of it. They don't really have a rhyme or reason for it. Additionally, many of the ordinary characters are portrayed as complete monsters for the horrible sin of not believing in God. Many of them are shown donating to charities, helping the poor, and doing things in life that are genuinely good and virtuous, and yet, the way Chick portrays them, they may as well be all members of the Manson family. Also, unintentionally, God comes off as a complete monster, especially when he punishes people to suffer eternal damnation for sins that are oddly mundane.

** One could argue that the very fact that there is a separate tract series just for black people is this trope, though YMMV.

* CriticalResearchFailure: "Dark Dungeons" is similar to the film ''MazesAndMonsters'' in that it bares little resemblance to how RolePlayingGames are actually played. For example, Marcie is instantly declared dead and does not even get to make a saving throw to see if she survives. Generally, instant deaths in role-playing are reserved for important non-player characters. She is also treated as though she "no longer exists"; it's not like she could take her character and go to ''another'' gaming group, or even have someone here pay for a resurrection!
