** The Creature alone isn't actually too hard, with hard-hitting but easily telegraphed attacks. It's when you meet two of him in the Nest of Evil that shit hits the fan: You can't reliably predict what one of them will do because the other is off screen or surrounding you, about to sucker punch you. You also can't stand on the corner of the room and bait only one of them because both start acting as soon as you enter the room. Abusing the NotCompletelyUseless Clear Skies spell is almost mandatory here. The worst part? This is the FIRST room of this floor. This is followed instantly by a floor with NINE Cave Trolls, then two Double Axe Armors and an Iron Golem just to chip the precious last bits of your health away. The boss of this gauntlet is Abbadon, which can be a lot trickier than the other Nest of Evil final encounters if you don't know how to deal with him.
*** You can just try to survive against the Creatures for sixty seconds, at which point the door to the next room will open whether they're beaten or not. Not that this is much easier, mind you. And you can forget trying to beat these two if you're playing on Level 1.

** The Doppelganger from the Nest of Evil is the final encounter of the whole area and supposedly the boss to end all bosses, but it is a cakewalk compared to what you fought all the way to get to them, especially when you are playing as Johnathan and Charlotte, where the Doppelganger randomly takes the form of one of them and uses their currently equipped weapons and sub-weapons the moment they enter its room, but it can't change weapons unlike you. One can easily cheese it by equipping nothing on both characters, enter the room, set them back; it will just blindly throw punches and rendered entirely crippled. Even if you don't cheese it this way or you are playing as Richter and Maria, it's still easy to avoid its attacks as long as you don't bring something particularly annoying to dodge into its room, and any sub-weapons it uses are never Mastered.

* DemonicSpiders:
** There are two enemies encountered in the [=13th=] Street that are resistant to the Holy Element, possess troublesome attacks and sometimes appear in large numbers; Amalaric Sniper and Nyx. This means that not only they will take some time to kill with the upgraded Vampire Killer, they could easily dogpile or snipe you to death in offscreen positions. Nyx can also poison your player character if her syringe lands.
** The Cave Trolls in the Nest of Evil are a step up from their Symphony of the Night versions; one of these will do around 200 on average with their tongue whip attack and their electric field will kill you in SECONDS. Even worse, later on there is a floor with nine of these and attempting to take all of them at once is death sentence. The only good thing is that they will not attack instantly when you enter the room they are in, so even when they appear in numbers you can pick them off one at a time.
** Another potentially lethal foe that appears in bulk exclusive to the Nest of Evil is the Gold Skeleton. Any attack they are not weak to will simply deal ScratchDamage to them and they throw a bunch of bones that hit hard. The first room they appear in also had 5 of these and multiple of these attacking you will spell quick doom. Thankfully, just like the Cave Trolls they have a limited range of sight, so you can just pick them off one by one.

** Depending on the fight, the Thousand Blades Dual Crush skill can basically trivialize it. A sufficiently strong Johnatan/Charlotte can make short work of quite a few bosses in the Nest of Evil (Gergoth and Zephyr being notable offenders) with it if you apply proper timing to the skill. The killer part is that this skill is literally the first Dual Crush you find.

** The skill mastery system in general. For starters, Charlotte cannot help you master anything, even though you'll be using her for about half the game. And Jonathan's just take forever to master. Almost every skill has a SP requirement in the thousands, and you get one or two from almost all monsters. You get SP as long as the monster has been A) damaged by the skill, and B) the monster dies by your hand, which is simple enough. The other big problem is the damage of the skills, since their power comes from the INT stat, which Jonathan just doesn't get naturally. It is perfectly possible to finish the game without mastering a single skill (or even realize there is such a system in the first place), using Charlotte sensibly and the few skills that are mechanically broken.

Natter. If the preceding example is not valid, just delete it instead of making a counter-argument. The second example is just actor trivia, not something that makes elements within the game funnier than they originally were.

* HilariousInHindsight:
** The main pair make an impressive team. Jonathan is the truly talented one, with the training necessary to accomplish his goal, but he suffers from deep self-esteem issues. The younger 16-year-old Charlotte accompanies him with her own (even if considered lesser) talents and much-needed moral support, allowing him to reach his full potential. Cue the sixth season of Series/BritainsGotTalent and the second-place team of opera singers Jonathan and Charlotte, who have the exact same team dynamic.
*** In reality, that dynamic might be considered reversed in the game. Jonathan is the one that at first boasts of being the wielder of the Vampire Killer whip, but Vincent is disappointed when he learns Jonathan can't even use it, and Jonathan is angry that Charlotte revealed that information. Meanwhile, Charlotte's incredible magical powers cause her to be known as the secret Final Weapon against Dracula, and even Vincent has heard of her as a 'Great Magician'. In addition, most characters in the game belittle Jonathan, while Wind, Death and Brauner immediately take notice of Charlotte's intelligence and talent.
** Creator/TakahiroSakurai's role as Jonathan Morris is even more hilarious if you know he voiced both vampires Edward Cullen and Ruki Mukami in Japanese, the same kind of monster Jonathan is hellbent to destroy.

Not an example. From the Game Breaker page: "A power-up that would be a game-breaker, except that it only appears when the game is essentially over, is Purposely Overpowered". Even then, Sisters Mode is a bonus mode whose mechanics are completely different from the main game, so it does not qualify for Purposefully Overpowered either.

** Sisters mode is incredibly easy for two reasons: the sisters float and hover in the air (at the cost of MP), and their method of attack is entirely done by the touchscreen. Stella does physical attacks by rubbing the stylus over, while Loretta launches a barrage of ice magic where the stylus is placed. With Loretta, even ice-resistant enemies fall in seconds (save for mage-type enemies). Attacking also consumes MP, but on the ground they recover it quickly. They're also immune to all status ailments. Of course, you have to beat the game just to unlock the mode to play as the sisters first, so there's not much of the game left to break.

** Similar to the Charlotte example above, Jonathan can buy the Shuriken subweapon really early in the game, and you'll almost never need another one. It's easy to master, and when mastered it basically obliterates anything in front of or below you.

She is garbed in what can basically be described as a Stripperific golden bikini, constantly struts her stuff and shakes her hips during battle, has lovely tanned skin, and a surprisingly deep yet sexy voice. Even Jonathan thinks she's beautiful, and that's when he isn't charmed by her. What's not to love?

** You can duplicate A bug enabled you to get quest rewards again and again, meaning you could sell them for potentially infinite gold. This coupled with the fact that the shop was right next to the quest reward guy, and that the shop sold the $300000 Holy Claymore, meant that you could get one of the most powerful weapons in the game early access to before fighting the Holy Claymore.first boss]].

*** However, it becomes incredibly easy if one takes advantage of the [[spoiler:door: just move Johnathan to right in front of the door, then turn around, activate Stonewall, and have Charlotte start the spell. Charlotte will be under the overhang, so no Death From Above spells can hit her, while Johnathan blocks all frontal attacks.]] Doing this makes the fight last about as long as it takes Sanctuary to complete.

** JONATHAN! CHARLOTTE! JONATHAN! CHARLOTTE!Speedrunners quickly alternate between the two characters to exploit a glitch that enables faster movement, leading to the two names being repeated ad nauseum for most of the playthrough
** (SCREAMS) and (SOBS), the game's very articulate way of expressing inarticulate vocalizations.
** The description of Death in the manual. "Lawful evil. Has some samurai-like aspects."

* NightmareFuel:
** Legion, as usual. A grotesque tentacled demon that protects its core by covering itself with the corpses of countless men.
** In one of the miniquests, you have to get a tear located near a certain statue. When you take it, the statue in the background is covered in blood.
** Both GameOver screens.
*** The regular screen is a bloody skull with its mouth open wide as if it were screaming, a sword going through its mouth and a snake in its eye sockets.
*** In Sisters mode, there's a nun crying TearsOfBlood, looking directly at the player. And they're the only pair with a different GameOver screen, so it's extra-startling if you played Richter mode first and were expecting the regular image.

* FridgeBrilliance: The moral of the game is that you're stronger as part of a team than as individuals. You would assume that would mean that you use one of the dual attacks in the final battle, but you'll quickly get wiped out if you do this, because Dracula has learned the moral of the game as well. So if unity is strength, how do you defeat an enemy? By dividing and conquering; since Death can fly and Dracula cannot, all you need to do is run up to one of the higher platforms in the room, Death will get there much faster than Dracula, allowing you to take him out with the Cross sub-weapon. Dracula is then a piece of cake, since they were far stronger together than apart.
* FridgeHorror: The Nation of Fools. [[spoiler:It's mentioned that Brauner lost his daughters because of the first World War. The painting (and by extension, the stage) shows the aftermath of a circus and town torn apart by war. Put two and two together. Worse, as you go further into the level, the stage gets turned on its side, and then upside down, representing how Brauner's life was literally turned upside down. And then there's the boss...]]

* HilariousInHindsight: The main pair make an impressive team.
