** "To all of the housemates here, we are deeply sorry for any upset that we have caused today. It was totally banter. And we are really, really sorry."During the Celebrity Big Brother UK revival series in 2024, Lauren Simon and Louis Walsh were forced to write an apology letter for discussing who they think might have nominated Lauren and singling out Zeze Millz in particular. When they read the letter to the other housemates, it turned out to be very short and didn't seem sincere, and there was an awkward silence that went on for a while as the others didn't know how to react. Many viewers thought this moment was very memorable."

YMMV can't be played with.

** Averted - Jade Goody would have never lived down the bullying of Shilpa Shetty in Celebrity Big Brother or her stints on the previous Big Brothers if she were still alive. Which is, in hindsight... very saddening. Goody's vile behavior was punished on the most extreme level- her body withered and developed terminal cervical cancer. She spent one month married to fellow houseguest Jack Tweed. And what makes this so eerie is that Goody developed this cancer when she appeared on the Indian version of Big Brother, Bigg Boss... after she previously harassed an Indian actress... two days into the playing.....almost as though she fell victim to a spiteful Indian curse coming onto that show.

*** Speaking of Triple Evictions, the one that occured in Big Brother 22 (All Stars 2) was also deemed controversial by fans, but for different reasons. Days leading up to the Triple Eviction, Dr. Will made a special appearance, where he heavily implied to the houseguests about the incoming Triple Eviction. This disappointed some fans, as Double Evictions (let alone America's first Triple Eviction) were traditionally done without any prior warning to the houseguests. While production did attempt to keep the third eviction a secret during the live broadcast, a camera feed of the main set was accidentally displayed to the houseguests during the 2nd eviction cycle. During the leak, several houseguest noticed the set was displaying "TRIPLE EVICTION NIGHT" on the house's façade. This forced Julie to announce prematurely that there would be an additional eviction during that broadcast.

As per this Crowner decision, The Scrappy can only be used for reality show contestants if the audience reaction to them is directly acknowledged within the show/franchise itself.

* TheScrappy:
** Mr. Pectacular Jessie Godderz from Big Brother 10 and Big Brother 11 has been a constant annoyance since Season 10 because he is always so cocky and tries to remain blameless, with producers turning him into a mascot for the series who has managed to evolve into a OnceASeason appearance.
** Frankie Grande of Big Brother 16, mostly for being a CreatorsPet, being highly repulsive & offensive, a gigantic attention whore and coming off as fake and disingenuous. The reaction towards him became even more intense when Frankie decided to backstab his ally: fan favorite Zach, said he wanted to "euthanize" Zach, stab his heart and "bathe in Zach's blood". He also showed zero remorse in making fun of Zach (including making rude and negative comments about Zach's personality, his weight, etc) to everyone in the house. It also didn't help when he insulted every single female houseguests except for Joey and Paola (who were the two earliest boots). To top it all off, Frankie made a highly offensive rape joke about Victoria.
** Paul became a full-blown Scrappy in Big Brother 19 due to the amount of rigging that went his way, as well as his extreme bullying tactics. Much of the cast of that season also qualifies.
** JC who seems a little too creepy with how infamous his ice cream scoop incident has become, as well as his fondling Tyler in his sleep. People are also troubled by the lengthy discussion he had with Bayleigh about the appropriate use of derogatory terms like "midget" and "nigga", which prompted the unpleasant return of the anti-prejudice disclaimer last seen in the dreaded Big Brother 15. While the discussion was positive and showed JC meant no harm, Bayleigh was genuinely hurt by even hearing the word because she grew up in a predominantly white community. The show's producers also treated this incident with care and did not use these inflammatory remarks to get the ratings up, but educate people instead. This has made JC forgivable but people wished he showed more caution in what he said. Asking if Rachel was transgender and feeling her Adam's apple didn't sit well with a lot of people, either, because Rachel became uncomfortable and asked him to stop.
** Kyland from Big Brother 23 earned his spot as a Big Brother Scrappy for being a dick to pretty much everyone including Sarah Beth, and especially Xavier who he nearly got expelled by purposely saying at his eviction that he was an awful role model for his nephew, kicked Hannah when she was down, and corrupted Sarah Beth.

* Adorkable:
** Lane in Season 12, especially around Britney. Lane's behaviour around Britney suggested that he may have had a crush on her even though Britney was taken at the time and had a boyfriend back home. There was so much ShipTease between Lane and Britney that many fans wanted the two of them to get together.
** Ian from Season 14 was geeky, awkward, and really endearing.
** In Season 16:
*** Nicole's thick-rimmed glasses really really make her look like this.
*** Zach is quirky, offbeat, intelligent and a math nerd. The fangirls also think that Zach is very loveable, adorable and super endearing, especially in his interactions with Frankie, Donny, Nicole and Victoria.
*** Being around Nicole really makes Hayden say some dorky things. He's also very endearing. Plus if his confession is to be believed, he's a nerd.
*** Jocasta's signature bow ties make her rather endearing. She is never not seen wearing one; she even chooses to wear bow ties with formal clothing. Jocasta is also incredibly offbeat, quirky, and downright zany.
** Season 19:
*** Dominique is BlackAndNerdy and TheSmartGirl (she's a government engineer after all!) plus she's sweet, adorable and a NiceGirl too. However, even though she does have a very endearing and cute side that makes her likeable, she is very much a SassyBlackWoman who is strong, tough and opinionated and should not be underestimated.
*** Jillian's naive and happy go lucky personality made her somewhat endearing. Her DR sessions also make her come across as awkward.
*** Cameron is a loveable, dorky and awkward nerd who wears NerdGlasses and is TheSmartGuy and a ScienceHero.
*** Cody can be very awkward and dorky, mostly due to his lack of social skills. His interactions with Jessica and Alex are a highlight because he tends to lighten up and smile a lot when he's in their presence. His adorkable side was played up even more when he was dressed up in Toad Costume as a punishment in Week 2.
*** Despite his large size, there is something incredibly cute and endearing about Mark. It's probably to do with the fact that he's a GentleGiant and an EmotionalBruiser. On top of it, his interactions with Elena are incredibly sweet.
*** Raven consistently displays an enthusiastic and lively demeanor during each eviction vote alongside Julie. Raven expressed a desire for temporary tattoos after the "Inked & Evicted" challenge ended. Matt, her showmance partner, opted for a temptation that required him to wear a ballerina costume. After the conclusion of the challenge, Raven, who is a dance teacher, playfully offered him her tutu to wear. Nevertheless, her endearing demeanor is subsequently marred and perceived in a more unfavorable manner when she discloses that beneath her charming facade, there exists a highly unpleasant and aggressive disposition. She appears less attractive when engaging in acts of bullying or expressing explosive anger towards others. The constant embellishment of details about her personal life does not enhance her overall likability.
*** Alex can be very endearing at times, mostly because she's AsianAndNerdy (and she plays video games!) with a side of AsianAirhead. She's also a GenkiGirl who is incredibly quirky, energetic, and bubbly. She is additionally the smallest female houseguest, and her petite stature enhances her overall charm. She is frequently seen wearing cat ears, an accessory that has come to be recognized as her iconic item.
*** Kevin is very endearing and loveable, especially when he goes all TeamDad on the younger houseguests. His relationships with Paul, Josh, Jason, Christmas, and Alex in particular are very heartwarming. It also helps that he's a CoolOldGuy with a offbeat sense of fashion and style.
*** Josh can be very dorky and endearing especially when he's fooling around or goofing off with Paul, Christmas, Alex, and Jason.
** Season 20:
*** Despite Brett's inclination towards athleticism, he possesses a charming and endearing personality, which is characterized by his goofiness, dorkiness, and silliness. He possesses both eccentric and intellectual qualities, which are evident in his occupation as a cyber security engineer. Despite his outward appearance as a jock, there is no denying his nerdy tendencies.
*** Normally, Angela is very aloof, cold, and distant towards people. However, when she is around certain individuals like Tyler and Kaycee, she undergoes a transformation from an IceQueen and EmotionlessGirl to a DefrostingIceQueen. In their presence, she becomes remarkably lovable and endearing. Also, when she lets her guard down, she can be quite dorky and goofy. Given that she is also socially awkward, it adds to her endearing qualities when she is trying to have fun.
*** Kaycee possesses a unique combination of endearing, dorky, and lovable qualities. The presence of Kaycee's impressive physical strength as a football player does not diminish her endearing qualities. Her dorky side is accentuated whenever she becomes the target of ridicule or is made the ButtMonkey for having to wear punishment outfits. This was evident when she was forced to wear a vibrant Pinwheel Costume during the first few weeks and later the Peanut Costume in Week 6. While wearing the Peanut Costume, Kaycee's whimsical and jovial nature emerged, especially when she had to perform a lively Peanut Dance accompanied by music. Tyler has recently been affectionately referring to her as "Little Peanut" or "Salty Peanut" ever since she started wearing the Peanut Costume. Angela affectionately refers to her as "Peanut."
*** Tyler's endearing qualities stem from his warm, friendly, and personable demeanor. The fans find his interactions and bond with Sam heartwarming. Additionally, his curly hair gives him a unique, quirky appearance. During the Week 5 Power of Veto competition, Tyler's adorable side was further emphasized as he sported a nerdy costume, complete with a bow tie. Tyler displays certain nerdy traits, as seen in his reactions during the OTEV Veto competition in Week 7 and his response to Zingbot during the Hide and Go Veto competition in Week 8. Upon seeing Zingbot and OTEV, Tyler's reaction resembled that of a young child finding numerous Christmas presents under the tree on a joyful Christmas morning. Given Tyler's profound interest in Big Brother and his extensive knowledge as a devoted fan, his responses to participating in these competitions are particularly captivating and endearing, especially from the perspective of the audience. Furthermore, Tyler exhibits a tendency to feel socially uncomfortable in the presence of girls whom he finds attractive or with whom he has a romantic interest. His interactions with Angela have revealed a tendency towards social awkwardness, reminiscent of an infatuated young boy whenever Angela is present. Tyler acknowledges his occasional tendency to be socially awkward, which adds to his charming demeanor.
** Season 23 has quite a lot of Adorkable houseguests. Hannah, Claire, and Derek X were a trio who all seemed to bond over the similarities in their cute and kind yet dorky and sometimes awkward personalities. Azah also had quite a lot of cute, dorky moments throughout the season, such as when she fell over while trying to dance and when she quoted Harry Potter. And even Alyssa, while not showing much of her dorky side on the show itself, was still cute and endearing, and has proven to be quite a dorky goofball too in her interviews and on her social media outside of the show.
** Celebrity Big Brother 3 has a handful of Adorkable houseguests as well. Mirai came across as socially awkward in the house and had trouble making friends, and yet most fans found her very adorable and endearing. Lamar and Chris Kattan also came across as this for being totally clueless about how the game works, making them seem dorky in their attempts to understand what was going on, and yet were so sweet to the other houseguests that most fans loved them anyway.
** From Canada Season 2:
*** Nate has a GeekPhysique, and is a nice guy as well as a huge Big Brother fan.
*** Arlie's a fairly nice guy, a Keet, and a huge fan of Big Brother who wants to win it all.
*** Jon has some geeky attributes to him. For example he self describes himself as goofy, his social manners are awkward and quirky, and he's a college student. He also dances like a total dork when he's drunk.
** Betty from Casnada Season 10, especially in one competition where she had to answer questions about the house design and was clearly trying her best.

** Season 25 also gave us another: The invisible Head of Household. More specifically, its particular execution of it. Invisible Head of Households provide a lot of paranoia in the Big Brother house - but because it was done with only eight players remaining, the houseguests immediately figured out who it was (Jag) with the main power being the ability to compete in the next Head of Household.
** Instant Evictions in the Canadian edition. The Head of Household has to make nominations on the spot, and then the house has to evict one of them right then and there. No veto is played, meaning they have no chance to take themselves off.
** Triple Evictions in the Canadian edition. One person is evicted, the Head of Household is played, then nominates three people. Veto is played, and the players vote to save one of the three nominees. Many viewers feel that this speeds up the game too much, but at least these players do get a chance to play in the veto but it also allows the Head of Household to essentially eliminate an entire alliance (Notably the French Connection alliance in Season 5) in one fell swoop.

* AudienceAlienatingPremise: The eleventh season of the Canadian version removed the live feeds altogether (Replacing them with "Digital Dailies") and changed the schedule to Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday. Because of this, casual viewers would have to dodge spoilers until Tuesday's episode which would be five days behind the "Digital Dailies"; while those who watched the "Digital Dailies" found little reason to watch the broadcast episodes as they would have already known what was happening long ago. Viewers were not happy with the decision, and hope that [=GlobalTV=] returns the feeds for the twelfth season.

** One rule unique to the Canadian edition as of recent is that the [=HoH=] does not play in Veto until much later in the game. Proponents of this mechanic suggest that this could keep fewer "Blowout weeks" where the veto isn't used and keeps things chaotic. Opponents suggest that it discourages the [=HoH=] from trying to make big moves since statisticaly speaking, the Veto will be used.

This has sparked a fierce debate over whether the runner-up is at fault for failing to manage their jury properly, or if the jury is at fault for being bitter and voting based on personal feelings rather than voting for the person who played the better game.

*** While nearly everyone is happy that an African American player won for the first time in the show's history, the circumstances that brought it about tend to be the main point of contention. Supporters of the Cookout argue that the end goal justified the path taken to get there, especially given the historic treatment of black players on Big Brother. Those against the Cookout tend to point out that it's the first alliance in the show's history to be formed explicitly based on race, and if an all-white alliance had formed to evict all the POC in the house it would have immediately been shut down by production. Some have also expressed fears that the Cookout's success will lead to black players being targeted in future seasons. Even among those who liked the Cookout’s mission, many wished that gender were factored into the mission too, since the setup of their plan allowed two of the most athletic men in the game to get to the end, when they likely would have been targeted earlier, and then dominate the final competitions to instantly get out the two women who did the bulk of the work in getting them that far.
*** Debates on the Cookout from a purely strategic view are similarly divisive. Some view their plan of each forming a close friend outside of the alliance and taking turns evicting each others' friends as a brilliant strategy, and point to the fact that all six members made it to Final Six without anyone outside the alliance even suspecting it as evidence that the Cookout should be considered one of the greatest alliances of all time. Others found the gameplay boring to watch, as once it became obvious that the Cookout would pull of their plan, the game turned into the Cookout predictably evicting their targets week after week, with any potential for a member of the Cookout to turn on the alliance never coming to fruition. From an entertainment standpoint, some also found it frustrating to watch players considered to be TheLoad like Azah and Derek F make it so far into the game without winning anything, while more well-liked players like Derek X and Claire were evicted due to circumstances largely out of their control.

** Tyler counts big time from Season 20. So beloved that he even appeared on another CBS game show prior to the season, Total Knockout. ** Paul from Season 19. * MoralEventHorizon: Todrick Hall became one of the show's most hated players. Him and Miesha shifting the eviction to Shanna was in many ways seen as some brilliant gameplay... but when Shanna was evicted? Todrick Hall decided to KickTheDog in one of the most brutal ways: Shanna had explained about the time she was robbed and the burglar said "Don't be hard on me". Todrick said this quote verbatim to Shanna as she left. It would be one thing if he didn't know this happened, but he knew it did - meaning he did this just to hurt her.
