** In a subversion, he reviewed Film/SevenPounds expecting a backlash of (in his own words) "Equilibrium times ten" proportions, only for most of the comments to agree with him on how disturbing and Glurge manipulative the movie was.

** Film Brain got a bit of a backlash after panning CultClassic Film/Equilibrium. The hate for this is a weird one, seeing how the film was critically panned when it was first released (Entertainment Weekly even called it a complete ripoff of Film/TheMatrix) and it's a mild CultClassic at best. He gives nods to the reaction in later reviews.

** His projector reviews increased in length [from around 5 minutes to around 20] with deeper analysis. Compare the original projector reviews from 2011 to his current ones shows how far he has come.

* GrowingTheBeard: Film Brain's general setup hasn't changed, but there's a general change in focus from the early episodes and especially following the hiatus. His voice has got more relaxed, and his Series/Screenwipe influence has become more obvious.
** He's also toned down his delivery, to the point he no longer has he same sarcastic inflection 20 times in a given review.

Clearly he forgot about the scene in Film/TheLivingDaylights where 007 stages a fake assassination. Also, Bond having to shoot an ally for real has never happened in any of the films.

* FunnyAneurysmMoment:
** Film/TheJazzSinger review has a joke about Creator/DougWalker sleeping with Mike Ellis which gets pretty uncomfortable when a list of grievances came out and Ellis sexually harassed multiple people.

** The joke was already funny, but Film Brain commenting that Creator/WesleySnipes avenging his childhood martial arts instructor in The Art of War II is ridiculous, adding "What's next, his pet dog?" gets even better now that Film/JohnWick is a thing.
** In his review of Shadow Man, he does a massive FacePalm after Creator/StevenSeagal somehow manages to shoot down a helicopter with just a handgun. Flash-forward to 2015, and Franchise/JamesBond does the same thing (albeit in a way that doesn't look anywhere near as ridiculous) in Film/Spectre.

* BrokenBase: The Film/SuckerPunch review is either a hilarious ripping of a pretentious movie, or one DoubleStandard joke after another over a decent, if unexceptional film. Many blame WebVideo/JesuOtaku's involvement for this, as he's credited as a primary writer and it's clear through the review that he has a much stronger dislike for the film than Film Brain, especially when Film Brain states that he found a DeletedScene would have been an improvement for the film (even if only a very slightly one) if left in, while [=JesuOtaku=] didn't care about it.

In this case DC fans have less of a problem with him not looking forward to the original version rather than him being rude to people that are looking forward to it barely knowing anything about the behind the scenes issues.

* ValuesDissonance: When reviewing Film/BrideWars, Film Brain's "Creator/KateHudson would look healthy if she gained five pounds" would have been seen as a positive statement at the time. However due to SocietyMarchesOn, the world has become more aware of the Double Standards between 'fat shaming is horrible and dehumanizing' and 'thin shaming is empowering and/or funny'. Basically his attempt at an empowering statement just looks like shaming a woman for her weight not fitting his idea of ideal.

* AndYouThoughtItWouldFail: Following the polarising reception of his Film/Equilibrium review, he was terrified that his Film/SevenPounds review would garner a similar reaction. On the contrary, it's regarded as one his best episodes and even managed to change Creator/DougWalker's opinion on the film.
