It doesn't have to be repaired when it's broken; the repair button is greyed out when the button is active but you can still click it to repair the button back to full health.

* ThatOneAchievement: Finger Breaker requires you to reach a 10k combo on the Button Machine. You'll have to repair machine once in a while, and you have to do it fast enough or the combo will be lost. There's also chance you will overshoot and break the combo by clicking a broken button. Needless to say, there's quite the room to make a costly mistake.
