** Lexi breaking her legs [[ItMakesSenseInContext after pretending to be]] and everybody thinking it's fake and just leaving her there. God, we know she's an AlphaBitch, [[KickTheDog but that was just harsh]]...

** Even the [[IronicNurseryTune so-called childrens songs]] from the episode [=PerformANTs=] when they are "The Happy Fuzzy Friends" especially the first song which is catchy, although its pretty dark.
* DidNotDoResearch: Did the writers just google "Famous Broadway Musicals" and just pick one? Why on earth would Chyna, a young African American girl, and Lexi, a tall, petite "beauty queen" be competing for the role of Tracy Turnblad, a short, plus sized girl? Especially when there are roles in the show that specifically fit both Chyna's and Lexi's body shape, talent, and personalities? Chyna would be an ideal Little Inez, while Lexi is perfectly suited for Amber Von Tussle.
** Maybe this was done intentionally to give Lexi a more legitimate reason for Lexi to hate Chyna than Chyna being just as talented, if not more. By Lexi losing out to Chyna for a part not even remotely bulit for Chyna makes it easier for Lexi to hate her. I do believe she wouldn't be to fond of Chyna if she did win a role (that is meant for Chyna) over Lexi, given Lexi's overall demeanor.
** It also could have been done to show the viewers how bad of a drama teacher Mr. Zimbaldi is. Something we later find out.

** The songs when they are "The Happy Fuzzy Friends"

* LesYay / FoeYay: The end of "You're the One That I wANT" has [[ItMakesSenseInContext Lexi playing the male lead]] to Chyna's female lead. They sing a romantic song [[TheJimmyHartVersion somewhat similar]] to "[[{{Grease}} Summer Nights]]" that was originally supposed to end with a kiss. They don't kiss, but still ...
** Also, the below mentioned IdolSinger episode has Chyna singing "You are beautiful, no matter what they say..." The fact that Lexi mistakes this as Chyna singing the song ''to her'' is played as a joke, but the scene is ''seriously played out like Chyna is singing it to Lexi!''

* SuppressedMammaries: {{Subverted}} attempts with Lexi and Paisley wearing more layers than what would be deemed as necessary. While it either doesn't work or isn't in effect, they seem to go to great lengths to cover Lexi's cleavage in her pageant gown during an interview by the pageant host, which does work.
** {{Justified}} since its on Disney and they try to support a certain image for their young stars. They also do a great job portraying Lexi and Paisley as popular yet tasteful dressing girls, which could be a hidden {{Aesop}} slipped in there.

** Also, the below mentioned IdolSinger episode has Chyna singing "You are beautiful, no matter what they say..." The fact that Lexi mistakes this as Chyna singing the song ''to her'' is played as a joke, but the scene is ''seriously played out like Chyna is singing it to Lexi!''
* {{Shotacon}}: Paisley is sometimes this toward Fletcher in a "Adorable kid" way.

** Arguably the whole episode "MutANT Farm", but this quote "You got a text message from Satan! 'See you soon'..." takes the prize. That joke came from the first episode, which this episode was [[RecycledScript based]] off of.

* EarWorm: The theme music. Also "Cameron Parks: Space Cadet" from "ClarivoyANT".

* IdolSinger: Chyna and Lexi both get chances to [[TheCastShowoff showcast their natural talents]]. There is even an episode where they make to the Hollywood phase of an [[AmericasGotTalent Idol show spoof, called America Needs Talent]].

** Angus somewhat invokes this
* NightmareFuel: From the 1st episode, melted Chyna wax statue. in fact, Gibson said this upon seeing it:

* IdolSinger: Chyna and Lexi both get chances to [[TheCastShowoff showcast their natural talents.]] There is even an episode where they make to the Hollywood phase of an [[AmericasGotTalent Idol show spoof, called America Needs Talent]].
** While most IdolSinger[s] are marketed for looks over vocal ability, or that they get acting jobs due to being a good singer. But a teacher lampshades this when he says " I knew you could sing but your acting skills, wow!"
** And Lexi is known for her acting skills in high school musicals, being cast as the lead in nearly everything, even if she is cast in a role meant for a male actor.
* RecycledINSPACE: Goes along with TheyCopiedItSoItSucks. [[DoogieHowserMD Not the first show]] to have a "Genius Protagonist" who is just a child learning life lessons in an area far superior to "normal" children their age.
