** Accel World uses heavy amounts of electronic music in the soundtrack, to ear-meltingly awesome effect. Two tracks in particular stand out:

During her fight with Yellow Radio in Episode 11, it gains a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKTVbUMBeao kickass beat]] that firmly cements her reputation as one of the best Burst Linkers currently in existence.
** The second opening [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IAIB_l6jmY "Burst The Gravity"]] by Altima.
** Haru's theme, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRg_JwxR7yU "Silver Wing"]]. This theme is the immediate indication that Haru is about to mess you up, [[spoiler: try asking Noumi... oh right you can't! He doesn't remember it anymore!]]

** Haru, for some, is hated for being a whiny protagonist. Even though unlike a lot of whiny anime leads, he DOES grow out of it.

Reki Kawahara has gone on record stating that the reason there aren't any plans for a second anime season is because the studio (Sunrise), is too busy making LoveLive, which sells by the buckload. There is hope however, consider Kawahara (the author), his editor, the execs at Dengeki Bunko, the staff at Sunrise and of course, the fans ALL want another season to happen. So it may just be a matter of time.

** Which has repeatedly been debunked by the author, especially considering that Snow Black came from an unhappy, loveless family. Although many fans are convinced Kirito must've been involved in the creation of Brain Burst somehow.

Also, most of the other kings are secretly plotting against eachother to reach level 10 anyway. Kuroyukihime is just the only one being honest and upfront about it. Haruyuki also has a monologue about how a game shouldn't go on forever.]]

** Taku is either a BrokenAce who's lost his way, or did he [[KarmaHoudini got off easy]]. This is probably why he became a ButtMonkey later on.

* FridgeBrilliance: Why does Snow Black not seem to have any problem with hooking up with Haruyuki despite his physical appearance? It's because of the fact that [[OlderThanTheyLook she's older than she looks]] thanks to [[YearInsideHourOutside Brain Burst]], so she's developed past point where she judges people based on looks or cares about what others think of her taste in romantic partners.
** [[FanDumb Not that a lot people would actually understand that...]]
* FridgeHorror: More than the Neurolinker itself, ''what'' could happen if it were misused.
** The Neurolinker can effectively hack sight, hearing, touch, smell, taste and time perception. This only can happen while the Neurolinker is connected to the brain, but...
** ...they are ubiquitous, to the point that even ID checking, or photographies transfer, is done via Neurolinker. At least in daily life, people use them constantly, and rarely put them off or remove them.
** One of them is explicitly noted in the Light Novel, volume 3, chapter 6. [[spoiler:After Haruyuki's augmented vision is hacked via a virus-infected picture, he notes that he could have perfectly been killed that way, if the hacker decided to make him misread the traffic lights.]]
** And then there was the backdoor program that was installed in Chiyu's Neurolinker, which could allow the intruder to not only route his network connection through it, ''but to see and hear everything Chiyu does''.
** Short after Haruyuki meets Aqua Current, it's shown that the NL can [[spoiler:selectively delete memories, presumably permanently]]. Also, in the first chapters it's shown it can read and interpret the fears and obsessions of its owner, so it should be possible to [[spoiler:read any memory and release it to the global net, including passwords, pincodes, and criminal evidence]].
** It's suspected, with [[spoiler: the Chrome Disaster incident]], that it can [[spoiler:alter the personality of its owner.]]
** With all that said, simply removing the Neurolinker to never put it on again buffers you against all those dangers. The trouble is if you have been using it practically since birth.
*** This is probably why the predecessor, Brain Chip, is illegal. At the very least you can remove and switch off a Neurolinker. And both Kuroyukihime and Noumi shows that you can limit your Neurolinker's exposure to the outside world if you're very careful. (Noumi's case might be a bad example, [[spoiler: as he only needs his Neurolinker/Brain Chip when he requires Brain Burst, and can use the other to function normally in the Neurolinked society]])
*** Even then, literally almost all of society is based around Neurolinker interaction, from school curriculum to bank transactions to even ''unlocking the door to your own house''. Operating without a Neurolinker would be the equivalent of being physically handicapped.
** Based on Chiyu's reaction in episode 14 when [[spoiler:Seiji sadistically demands that she become his pet]] and earlier remarks that a direct NL-to-NL cable connection is regarded as lovers-level of intimate, it is completely possible to commit ''cyber-rape'' through an NL.

* NightmareFuel: [[spoiler: The Disaster Armor. Not only does it have the appearance of a monster, but when it's mouth opens, it reveals what looks like a black hole. And then there's it's sole instinct: to devour anything and everything.]]
** [[spoiler: the black hole has the same art style of the Incarnate System... at the least, when Noumi starts his for the first time in the series. Given that the Desaster Armor is first created through abuse of the Incarnate System... it appears Haru almost CREATED/REVIVED the Disaster Armor at one point. Thankfully, the time ran out.]]

* BigBrotherIsWatching: There are the [[BigBrotherIsWatching Social Cameras]], which are [[ParanoiaFuel literally]] ''[[ParanoiaFuel everywhere]]'', and keep track of your movements 24/7... approaching FridgeHorror levels for some tropers.
