And then ''breaking out of the Khali Vicegrip!'' Through sheer brute force! Heck, Mark Henry keeps ''running away from him!'' Originally, it was just because he had a steel chair, but now just Sheamus coming is enough to send Mark running for the locker room!

* SpikyHair: And has only ever appeared on TV once without it spiked (and that was because his hat was over it). UpToEleven when he returned in 2015 sporting a ginger mohawk about three inches high.

Yeah, Triple H could've sued Sheamus for assault or the like, but instead he picked himself up and gave Sheamus what the Irishman himself admitted to be ''the biggest arse kickin' he ever got.'' It's something Sheamus grudgingly, but willingly, respects Triple H for.

** Perhaps the biggest sign of re-promotion came when he won the Money in the Bank ladder match in June 2015, and then when he cashed it in five months later to take down the [[Wrestling/RomanReigns Roman Empire]] and become Wrestling/TheAuthority's new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. No big.
* DenserAndWackier: How did character change from the guy who wanted to destroy everyone to King of Comedy Heels? The answer may lie with HHH. He and Vince seem to have differing ideas of how their heel champs should act: Vince wants total monsters like Brock. HHH wants jobber champs like {{Wrestling/Seth|Rollins}} or pratfallers like Sheamus. A cynic might look at this as a way for Brock and HHH to put themselves over whenever it seems the last several champs [[ShooOutTheClowns haven't cut the mustard.]]

This is similar to Shawn O'Haire, an English name that is usally spelled Sean.[[note]]It's likely the reason was to make it easier for non-Irish viewers to pronounce; many ''Harry Potter'' fans expressed surprise when Seamus Finnegan's name was said out loud in the fifth film - not knowing it was pronounced that way[[/note]].

** In December 2012, Sheamus ended up presenting to John Cena a whole list of Irish victories including Johnny Logan winning the EurovisionSongContest and Series/FatherTed kicking Bishop Brennan up the arse.

Then, he does something very similar to a returning Alberto Del Rio the next day. ''[[CorruptCorporateExecutive Johnny Laurinaitis]]'' of all people calls him out on it. But when Sheamus loses the match because of a bad call by the ref, he proceeds to kick the ref in the face, too. Really?

* WriterOnBoard:
** Although it's never once been brought up in {{Kayfabe}}, he and Triple H share a friendly personal relationship, which some point to as the reason he was pushed so heavily so soon after his arrival. [[note]]Reportedly Wrestling/ChrisJericho was meant to win the 2012 Royal Rumble, but Triple H's influence spurred creative to give Sheamus the victory.[[/note]] Although, at the same time, his face run has gotten over rather swimmingly with the fans.
** Swimmingly, of course, until he [[{{Kayfabe}} decided]] to cheap-shot [[Wrestling/BryanDanielson Daniel Bryan]] with a [[OneHitKill Brogue Kick]] after Bryan had a moment with his girlfriend in order to [[SquashMatch win the World Heavyweight Championship in 18 seconds]], causing a [[InternetBackdraft pro-Bryan and anti-Sheamus shitstorm]] in Miami and all over the internet.
*** Which, of course, he was {{Misblamed}} for. Research into the matter will reveal that even though Sheamus was booked to win the match anyway, emphasis on later matches (such as [[Wrestling/JohnCena Cena]] vs. [[Wrestling/DwayneJohnson Rock]] and Wrestling/TheUndertaker vs. Triple H) and a last-minute decision to attempt to beat a completely pointless Wrestlemania 'record' few people knew about [[note]]that being the shortest Wrestlemania match, held by Wrestling/{{Kane}} vs Wrestling/ChavoGuerreroJr at Wrestlemania 24[[/note]] caused the match to be booked in the way it was.
* XtremelyKoolLetterz: His first name being spelled with an H counts as this to fans in his native Ireland, where Seamus happened to be a very common name. Then again, these kinds of spellings tend to be very popular in wrestling anyway, [[don't they Wrestling/{{Rhyno}}]]?

* CombatPragmatist: Sheamus doesn't care much if you're distracted. He came to fight, and if you're busy doing or looking at something else, he'll just nail you with a Brogue Kick as soon as he sees the whites of your eyes. [[Wrestling/BryanDanielson Daniel Bryan]] (and [[Wrestling/TheShield Dean Ambrose]]) found this out the hard way.

* BrainsEvilBrawnGood: This is how his feud with Wrestling/DamienSandow is going. Sandow brings puzzles like the Shell Game to the ring to try and humiliate Sheamus; Sheamus in turn just kicks him in the head. Partially subverted as it's shown Sandow as violent and aggressive, and Sheamus as clever and crafty.

** Been reverted recently, he's now fighting ''Mark Henry'', who's become an AxCrazy BloodKnight that no one else is willing to fight. One of the first things he did, ironically, was beat Khali.
** He won the Royal Rumble, so we will see him as one of the co-main eventers at ''[=WrestleMania=]'', fella!
*** Ironically, he faced Daniel Bryan for the championship.

* HoistByHisOwnPetard: At Wrestling/MoneyInTheBank 2013, he set up a ladder between the ring apron and the announce table and attempted to drive a smaller competitor through it. He's used this spot a couple of times, including 2011, where the victim was SinCara and it caused a storyline injury that shelved Sin Cara for several months. Fast forward two years later, where an attempt to do the same backfires. Sheamus goes through the ladder himself and severely bruises his thigh.

* He came back from getting [[OneHitKill the Punt]] from Wrestling/RandyOrton in ''one week''. If any more needed to be said, look at the end of his match with Mark Henry at ''Summerslam 2011''. Henry ''smashes him through the barricade around ringside!'' Sure, he didn't make the 10 count, but the fact he was still conscious enough to try deserves mention. He misses absolutely ''no action'' from this and comes back that Friday seemingly unhurt.

* MeanCharacterNiceActor: Like most {{Heel}}s, he was a much nicer guy out of the ring than in. Now that he's a {{Face}}, he's nice both in-character and out.

* SelfDeprecation: Sheamus meets [[Franchise/TheMuppets Beaker]], and immediately talks about the upcoming family reunion.

* WhenSheSmiles: As a face, Sheamus does ''a lot of'' smiling. Not SlasherSmile either, honest-to-goodness happy smiling. It makes him look so friendly.
