Dooku\'s actions aren\'t What An Idiot because he knows very well he\'s going to die but that there\'s nothing he can do about it. Who do you think Anakin is going to believe? Dooku (whom he hates and who is the leader of the opposition) or his best friend/leader Palpatine? Dooku\'s very well aware of this and he would rather go out with his pride intact than beg.
