'''You'd Think:''' Gunray would say "Thank you" to Sidious, end the communication and ''immediately'' [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere get the hell out of there]]. You'd have to be TooDumbToLive not to pick up on the hint that "take care of them" usually means "kill you".\\

'''You'd Expect:''' The Trade Federation would take advantage of having a fortified position and simply wait for the Gungans try to penetrate it, firing from behind the walls which are a few dozen feet high and look sturdy.\\

Or, perhaps, use this thing called "Orbital Bombardment" to brutally obliterate the army without losing a single droid, using the massive flying spaceship that they have in orbit.\\

** Well, in possibly non-canon novellization he ''does'' try to kill Palpatine, it' s just he wasn't powerful enough to do that after Mustafar. And he stayed because Palpatine is the only option that had left. (in his mind, anyway).

'''You'd Expect:''' Given it's a ''major'' plot point that they need to force her to sign an agreement which will make this whole invasion worth it, she'd be under heavy guard at all times, and ''not'' sent to a prison camp but kept securely in the palace.\\
'''Instead:''' He sends her with a few droids who are outnumbered by their prisoners two to one, despite knowing that there are two Jedi in the area, unaccounted for and probably looking for the queen. [[ForegoneConclusion Guess what happens.]]

'''Instead:''' He sends her with away almost immediately without even ''attempting'' to make her sign the treaty, guarded by a few droids who are outnumbered by their prisoners two to one, despite knowing that there are two Jedi in the area, unaccounted for and probably looking for the queen. '''Instead:''' He sends '''everyone''' out, including ''himself''.\\
'''The Result:''' The shield is destroyed, leading to the death of Emperor Palpatine and the destruction of the Death Star. Good job, Commander Dumbass.

\n** Soem strange guy in an AT-ST tells the deflector shield commander that the Rebels have been routed and are fleeing into the woods.\\
'''You'd Think:''' Give the commander the benefit of the doubt that he doesn't know the name and voice of every single man under his command at the base, which is strange because there looks like there's only three dozen men there, tops. He would send only one or two men to go out and make sure everything is on the up and up.\\

** Anakin goes to see Master Yoda after having a terrible dream (possibly a premonition) about Padmé suffering and dying.\\
'''You'd Expect:''' That the wise and compassionate Master Yoda would explain the nature of self-fulfilling prophecies and recommend that Anakin not go to dangerous extremes even to do something so noble as save the people he cares about. At the very least, he would say something to placate him. Something like, "Always in motion is the future. Do not be reckless."\\
'''Instead:''' Yoda quite callously tells Anakin to let go of ''everything he loves,'' never mourning their loss or even ''missing'' them. As a result, Anakin stops listening to the Jedi and starts listening to Palpatine.
** Speaking of the above dream - that Padmé will, for an unknown reason, die in childbirth - Anakin is convinced that it will come true unless he does something about it. Understandable, due to him once having a similar dream about his mother, who did die.\\

'''Instead:''' He decides to join up with a Sith Lord, who claims that the Sith have the ability to save people from dying, and that if he follows his orders, which at a very early point include [[WouldHurtAChild the deaths of children]], Padmé will be saved. And Anakin remains convinced of this throughout and never asks himself what any of this has to do with saving Padmé.

'''Result:''' Anakin's actions turn Padme against him, which leads to him force choking her in a fit of rage. Both these things lead to her dying after she gives birth to their kids; he ended up [[SelfFulfillingProphecy fulfilling the very prophecy he wanted to prevent]].

** First Order Stormtrooper Captain Phasma gets apprehended by Finn, Han and Chewie at Starkiller Base. They take her to one of the control panels to force her to lower the shields around Starkiller Base at gunpoint so that the Resistance's X-Wing fighters can attack and destroy the base before it takes out the Resistance's base planet.\\
'''You'd Think:''' That Phasma would pull off an ISurrenderSuckers moment and not lower the shields at all, and instead alert the base to the intruders' presence. And since the shields aren't lowered, the Resistance can't launch their attack on Starkiller Base, and thus, the First Order can then take out the Resistance's base planet, leaving them free to conquer the remaining systems of the now-badly devastated New Republic (due to having its capital being blown to smithereens earlier).\\
'''Instead:''' She plays it all real and lowers the shield, allowing the Resistance X-Wings to begin their attack on Starkiller Base, and eventually destroy it. As for Phasma, she then gets put into a trash compactor offscreen.
