* ArtisticLicenseMedicine: The blood bank as depicted, a gigantic cathedral like room with massive shelves with blood stored in test tubes, isn't exactly how real life blood banks work[[note]]Besides being kept in labelled blood bags in refrigerated conditions, donated blood is first centrifuged to separate the various components before being stored.[[/note]], but it does make an [[RuleOfCool absolutely awesome action set piece for Batman to have his fight against the vampirized Joker with]].

* InsanityImmunity: [[spoiler: Downplayed. When Dracula turns people into vampires, they typically become mindless animals who are nothing but his slaves, and can do nothing but snarl and growl. When Joker is turned, however, he retains all of his higher reasoning and intelligence, and can even ''talk''. That being said, he's not ''completely'' independent from Dracula's control; he still has an insatiable hunger for blood, and a mental block prevents him from giving away the location of Dracula's crypt.]]

* GoAmongMadPeople: The guy who told Penguin about the treasure admits that he opted for ObfuscatingInsanity, as he thought 10 years in Arkham would be preferable to 30 in regular prison. However, his stay is causing him to crack up for real, which is why he talked to Gotham's most notable villains about breaking out.

** During their fight in the rain, Joker says, "This time, I'm out for blood, Batsy." It serves as an acknowledgement to viewers that the movie will be DarkerAndEdgier than the TV series.

* NoHonorAmongThieves:
** The inmate who knew about the treasure anticipated this, as he only provided vague details about the location and wouldn't say anything more until on the outside. However, he underestimated that Joker would still take his chances doing a lengthy search rather than share the goods with him. Penguin ends up doing similarly after managing to break out, as well.
** After catching up with Joker, Penguin did propose splitting the take, as he would prefer to save himself any unnecessary trouble. He thought the business end of one of his trick umbrellas would keep Joker in line, but he got suckered by an electric joy buzzer and left to rot.

* AbsenteeActor: None of the main GCPD characters such as Bennett, Yin, Rojas or Gordon appear in this film, making it difficult to tell when exactly this film takes place in the timeline. But since Batman is still an enemy of the police and neither Batgirl nor Robin appear (as they hadn't been introduced yet), it probably takes place sometime during season 1 or 2 (after "Topsy Turvy", but before "Night and the City").
