''Gravity Falls'' is an animated DisneyChannel Original Series created by [[FishHooks Alex]] [[TheMarvelousMisadventuresOfFlapjack Hirsch]], that aired in June 2012.

The show concerns the adventures of twin siblings Dipper and Mabel Pines, whose summer plans are ruined when their parents ship them off to their Great-Uncle ("Grunkle") Stan in Gravity Falls, Oregon. Stan lives in and runs The Mystery Shack, a tourist trap which overcharges unlucky visitors for a glimpse at the world's most bizarre museum, but little do Dipper and Mabel know that there really is something very strange going on, and they must rely on each other to find their way in this unfamiliar town.
-----
!!This show contains examples of the following tropes:
* {{Adorkable}}: Mabel.
* AdvertisedExtra: Sort of, that zombie Mabel befriended in some early trailers? [[spoiler: He turned out to be a [[TotemPoleTrench bunch of gnomes]] in disguise.]]
* AgentMulder: Dipper is shaping up to be one of these, as seen in the early trailers.
** Soos shows hints of this in the pilot as well. He thinks the mailman's a werewolf and believes Dipper's zombie theory.
* AndNowYouMustMarryMe: [[spoiler:The gnomes in the pilot kidnap Mabel and try to force her into marry all of them so that she can become their new queen.]]
* AndThisIsFor: "Lying to me, breaking my heart, and messing with my brother!"
* TheBarnum: Grunkle Stan
* BrotherSisterTeam: Obviously. Soos lampshades it by calling them "the mystery twins".
* ChekovsGun: The leaf blower in the pilot that Mabel [[ItMakesSenseInContext uses for kissing practice]] [[spoiler: is used to defeat the gnomes.]]
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Mabel has an... interesting way of thinking.
* TheCutie: Mabel
* CreatorCameo: Alex Hirsch voices both Grunkle Stan and Soos
* {{Foreshadowing}}: In "Tourist Trapped" [[spoiler:when Dipper shows Mabel what he suspects Norman is, at first he opens the book on the gnomes article by accident.]]
* FourFingeredHands: Most of the characters in the show have four fingers, but some characters like Stan and Soos have five fingers on each hand.
** Making it stranger is how the cover of Dipper's book features a six fingered hand.
* GenkiGirl: Mabel.
* GettingCrapPastTheRadar: "Who wants to put on some blindfolds and get into my car?!"
** Dipper said "Oh my god" when he thought he was right about Mabel's boyfriend being a zombie. This isn't a problem for most other networks, but Disney Channel almost always makes the characters say "Oh my gosh" instead.
** Also in the pilot was a statue of Sasquatch wearing underwear titled "Sascrotch". Really, Disney?
** Not to mention [[spoiler:the gnomes' plan for Mabel to marry all of them.]] She's just twelve and it's mentioned that there's at least a thousand of them. You do the math.
* GirlyBruiser: Mabel shows signs of this in the second half of the pilot. She's very girly and energetic, but she's packs a mean punch. She's given Dipper a black eye and even made a gnome throw up after she kicked him in the stomach.
* GrapplingHookPistol: Mabel has one.
* HairDecorations: Mabel's hairbands
* HalfIdenticalTwins: Dipper and Mabel.
* HeroesWantRedheads: Dipper's crush on Wendy.
* HeyItsThatVoice: Kristen Schaal (Mel in FlightOfTheConchords and Louise in BobsBurgers) voices Mabel.
** Jason Ritter (Kevin in JoanOfArcadia and Sean in TheEvent) voices Dipper.
** Linda Cardellini (Lindsay in FreaksAndGeeks and Samantha in {{ER}}) voices Wendy.
* HomemadeSweaterFromHell: Mabel's sweaters. Subverted in that she likes them and wears them proudly.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Mabel, who gets props for using a leaf blower to [[spoiler:blow away a thousand gnomes.]]
* ImpossiblyTackyClothes: Mabel's sweaters can sometimes go into this.
* InLoveWithLove: Mabel.
* LimitedWardrobe: Averted with both Dipper's hats and Mabel's sweaters.
* ManChild: Soos. Disney's promotions even use that exact word to describe him.
* NiceHat: Grunkle Stan really seems to like his fez. Wendy's lumberjack hat could count as well.
* PetTheDog: Grunkle Stan gets a moment like this in the pilot after feeling guilty for insulting Dipper and Mabel and lets each of them take anything they want from the Mystery Shack. In true Grunkle Stan fashion, he tells them to do it before he changes his mind.
* PolarOppositeTwins: Smart and conventional Dipper and energetic optimist Mabel.
* ThePollyana: Mabel, who's described as a "glass half full" kind of girl.
* PrecociousCrush: Dipper has one on Wendy, the 16-year old girl who works at The Mystery Shack.
* SavvyGuyEnergeticGirl: Dipper and Mabel respectively
* ShoutOut: The gnomes tying down Mabel is very reminiscent of a certain scene from GulliversTravels.
** [[WeeklyWorldNews Bat Boy]] appears in a photograph at the end of the opening sequence.
** Pausing on that split second image that flashes at the end of the credits reveals what seems to be a page from Dipper's book that has, besides a few other unusual scrawlings, [[spoiler: [[http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m5u0egjVkE1qc0tqco1_500.png the Konami Code]].]]
* StrangeGirl: Mabel
* TownWithADarkSecret: Almost said word for word by Dipper in the pilot.
* TheUnHug: Dipper and Mabel's "awkward sibling hug."
* WiseBeyondTheirYears: Dipper. TheOtherWiki uses this exact phrase to describe him.
* WriteWhatYouKnow: Alex Hirsch based the series on the childhood summers he and his twin sister spent camping with their great-aunt.
* WriteWhoYouKnow: Alex Hirsch based a lot of the character of Mabel Pines on his own twin sister, Ariel.
* YouthfulFreckles: Wendy.
