* BreakingTheFourthWall: It'd hardly be an ''WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy'' movie without it, and they waste no time at all getting to it--one of the first gags in the film is that Eddy's brother has a fire-extinguisher-esque box on his bedroom wall marked "in case of movie break glass."

* BlackAndGrayMorality: The parties involved are, in order of appearance: a trio of con men running away to avoid being lynched for their latest scam, the kids who want to beat up/kill the aforementioned con men, three bullies/molesters and ''a sociopath beating his own younger brother for kicks''.

** TheMovie also deconstructs the AmusingInjuries trope. First it's deconstructed with the injuries all the kids had, which were horrifying, and rightly so. Second, with Eddy's brother's beatings on Eddy having resulted in his inferiority complex and jerkassery. It wasn't rare for the cul-de-sac kids to pick on the Eds, but considering they were the same age and had more-less comparable chances, but Eddy's brother is definitely older and physically stronger than Eddy. The cruel way he beats him up just because he asked for protection from the enraged neighborhood kids revolts even [[EvenEvilHasStandards Sarah and the Kankers]]. Now we know why Eddy can [[FridgeHorror take so much punishment]]...
** It deconstructs the nature of Eddy's scams. There was only so much the Cul-de-sac kids could take, and only so much the Eds could do before, in Edd's words they "WENT TO FAR!"

** TheMovie also deconstructs the AmusingInjuries trope, with Eddy's brother's beatings on Eddy having resulted in his inferiority complex and jerkassery. It wasn't rare for the cul-de-sac kids to pick on the Eds, but considering they were the same age and had more-less comparable chances, but Eddy's brother is definitely older and physically stronger than Eddy. ** ItsAllMyFault: It's eventually subverted entirely, when Eddy in anger tells Edd to go ahead and leave (who is already justifiably angry enough to face the kids rather than travel with Eddy another second). Eddy then shouts "Fine! Go Home! I don't blame ya! Cause everything WAS my fault!".

* SayMyName: After Edd gets beaten by Eddy's brother, Ed and Marie both shout "Double D!" in shock.

The basic plot of the film is simple--Ed, Edd, and Eddy flee the neighborhood after their latest money-making scheme flies horribly off the rails, wrecks the neighborhood and maims most of the supporting cast. The three seek refuge at the home of Eddy's ever-elusive brother, but are hindered by the fact that they have no idea where it is, and as a result spend most of the movie aimlessly wandering. Pursuing them are their victims--Kevin, Nazz, Rolf and Jonny--and pursuing ''them'' are the Eds' AbhorrentAdmirer[=s=], the Kanker Sisters, irked by the idea of anyone pummeling their "boyfriends" [[HypocriticalHeartwarming but them]].

The plot of the film is simple, but it's held in high regard amongst fans of the series for providing long-absent depth and karma to its protagonists and managing to put some of the show's longest-running mysteries to rest in a satisfactory way.
