** Once the desert village is established with the help of an elven exclave, one of the players develops a system for other players to "gain favor" with the elves, which consists in therapy to withstand the constant rejection and how to "YesMan" successfully enough for an elf to give them the time of day.

* FantasyForbiddingFather: A low key example, Jaeho's dad wants him to be an MMA fighter, forbidding his non-fighting related interests. He manages to trick his father into getting the VR capsules to play in New World with the argument he can use it to train in fighting.

* GoodSmellsGood: Due to all his time spent studying plants and flowers, Jaeho now has a pleasant floral smell around him. The Elve's SuperSenses detect this and it helps him slowly win their support, as he is so far the only human who doesn't, well, ''stink.''
* GreenThumb: The result of Jaeho leveling up his plant studying and tending Skills are abilities to help them grow.

* MamaBear: Jaeho's mom has a temper, and both he and his dad fear her. When the bill for the VR capsules comes in, she starts to take it out on his dad, who turns to Jaeho for support-- only for him to slide out of frame and close the door to his room, with a caption confirming he does not regret the betrayal.

* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: The Grizzly Bears are a guild of players stated in universe to be a group of extreme racists who often end up at odds with Althea. Acting as reoccurring villains throughout the comic. [[spoiler: Especially after Althea is named the first player king by accident. Right before their leader was named king. Making him the second player king instead.]]

* TalkingToPlants: Jaeho does this a lot, and it seems to help leveling up his game skills regarding studying plants.
