[[LampshadeHanging Nate points out]] that all such plans are doomed to failure--but in a subversion, Cody reveals he ''wants'' the plan to fail, because the point isn't to genuinely convince the Frosts he and Sam are an item, it's to have her break up with him in front of his parents, so as to get them off his back about finding a girl and leave him to date Doug in peace. Further subverted when the appearance of Jake and Becky as [[SpannerInTheWorks Spanners In The Works]] causes the plot to collapse--with the exact end result Cody had hoped for. The downside? [[InnocentBystander Jake gets hurt in the process]], and Cody is [[WhatTheHellHero left to wonder for the first time]] whether keeping his orientation a secret is really worth it, if it just keeps hurting his friends, and if he'd really rather be thought a HandsomeLech (or worse a LeisureSuitLarry) instead of gay. And the crowning bit? [[spoiler:Like almost all [[ZanyScheme Zany Schemes]], it wasn't even necessary because his parents end up being perfectly fine with him being gay, and one already suspected.]]

''[[http://www.hirezfox.com/isoarchives/ i.s.o.]]'' is an [[strike:ongoing]] completed gay-themed furry comic book series by artist Vince Suzukawa. A follow-up to his long-running webcomic ''TheClassMenagerie'', it also follows the lives of characters at the fictional [=DeMontfort=] University. However, it is not a sequel; though ''i.s.o.'' even takes place in the same dorm as the former series, it focuses on the residents of a different floor of the building. Likewise, while ''TCM'' shows events through the eyes of several characters, ''i.s.o.'' concerns itself primarily with a tiger named Cody Frost, a freshman at [=DeMontfort=] who struggles with his new relationships, his homosexuality, and his desire to be "normal."

So according to me, the lack of Rule 34 occurrences on this comic comes from Vince being very friendly and accessible to his fans and collaborators, whether he personally knows them or not. Or to put it another way, because people interacted with Vince on a regular basis, they came to respect him too much to disobey his request for no ISO porn. (That, and if people had disobeyed, he might well have discontinued the comic, which not even the most porn-loving fan would have wanted.)

* AccidentalInnuendo: Yes, believe it or not, by WordOfGod one of these exists in a gay furry comic--a ''very'' large number of readers gave an entirely different meaning to Maureen's words in issue 10 about her car.

* BadassDecay: Subverted for CharacterDevelopment. In Doug's BackStory, he was the Hangout's bouncer, but never had any aggressiveness, managing to expel troublesome patrons based on his intimidating size alone scaring them away. When he got glasses though, it made him less intimidating, and useless as a bouncer, which is why the Hangout hired Cody to replace him. The glasses also had an effect of making Doug ''[[{{Meganekko}} sexier]]'' to Cody.

* CrowningMomentOfAwesome: "Psychobitchaphilia".
** Cody's feigning interest in a threesome with Doug and Steve (to the stunned shock of the entire Hangout) so as to trick the druggie into going to the police precinct has to be his CMOA for the entire comic--seeing as it combines him admitting his orientation in public (something he never could have done even six issues previously), some very clever improvisational thinking, and getting a real asshole his comeuppance. This even leads eventually into [[spoiler:Maureen's CMOA: agreeing to be the judge on Steve's case. Seating herself at the bench, she only smiles at him. Steve thinks this means Maureen likes him and he can charm his way out of jail. [[LaserGuidedKarma The reader knows better.]]]]

* FanYay: Most of the characters. But it's a comic for a gay audience, so this is a no-brainer.
** An in-story example would be Nate, who after hearing that Jeff has feelings for Cody and the tiger just might act on them, [[CrowningMomentOfFunny begins openly drooling and fantasizing about them making out, to the chagrin of Todd]].

* HardGay: Cody overcompensates into this so that no one will think he's gay -- or rather, CampGay (his original mental picture of what constitutes). But to his [[GayBestFriend Straight Best Friend]] Todd, this puts Cody squarely in the TransparentCloset.

* StraightGay: Cody, Doug, Jeff, Robbie, Tyrone.

* WhatCouldHaveBeen: A number of characters were thrown out in development, such as: the dragon groundskeeper Duncan (see ViolentGlaswegian); a moose named Monty (who was originally intended to be TheVoiceless [[TheMentor Mentor]] for Cody, but was replaced by Boris since his being a BigEater provided the excuse for silence); a dumb cowboy (literally) named Rusty (dumped because the author realized he was far too stereotypical and the comic already had two [[BrainlessBeauty Brainless Beauties]] and didn't need another); a rhino and ram couple named Rex and Silvius who were meant to be two more examples of HardGay to show Cody his prejudices were wrong (dumped because [[LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters the cast was big enough already]], the point had already been made elsewhere, and them being a demolitions expert and fireman was a little too VillagePeople). Additionally, at one point the entire Hangout crew was meant to be composed of felines (Ty was a panther, Becky was a Siamese, and there was to be a cheetah DJ when the Hangout was a club instead of a college sports bar) so as to make Cody being hired out of nowhere seem more plausible--but that was dropped in order to make the crew less close-knit (and thus more open to co-worker dating). Rex and Silvius, however, later make appearances as background characters in some scenes, while Rusty has a cameo in Sam's memories of the sort of [[IncrediblyLamePun beefy]] guys who hit on waitresses and which she doesn't care for (having [[TestosteronePoisoning far too many such men in her own family]] and being more interested in {{Bishounen}} guys anyway).

* BatmanGambit: Once Cody learns the full truth about [[spoiler:Maureen]], as well as [[spoiler:Thor's]] intentions towards her, he comes up with a very clever plan--after [[spoiler:the breakup with Doug]], and with it no longer being an issue for him to avoid [[ThoseTwoGuys Jake and Zach]] any more, he decides to quit his job as a bouncer at the Hangout...and see if he can get [[spoiler:Thor]] the job in his place, so he can then [[spoiler:pay off his debt to the school, no longer feel like a golddigger, and propose to Maureen, which will get her off Jeff's back.]] It looks like, no matter how hard [[spoiler:Thor]] tries, Sam will never forgive him, let alone give Tyrone permission to hire him. But then, thanks to [[spoiler:the fire at the Hangout [[NiceJobFixingItVillain accidentally caused by Steve]], [[spoiler:Thor]] is in the right place at the right time to help save Doug's life]], and Sam gives her blessing after all.

* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Todd's CD which Cody borrowed for Doug but admits (reluctantly) to liking himself features an artist who is an amalgamation of various female pop stars, such as Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, etc. Her name? Diane Salinas. (Switch the names around and sound them out...)
