* BleachedUnderpants: Rikku mentions finding the original PC version of ''VideoGame/{{Utawarerumono}}'' in Chaldea's archives, and says that she will try to find the ''UsefulNotes/PlayStation2'' version because Mash is "not ready" for the original version.

** Comic 276 has Shiki describe Souren Araya's experiment from the fifth ''LightNovel/TheGardenOfSinners'' novel, along with how one person was able to break free from the cycle and the creator of the experiment is dead.

** Once the second Mephisto shows up during the ''LightNovel/TheGardenOfSinners'' event, he mentions how he is easy to summon because he is a three-star Servant. Rikku tells him not to break the fourth wall, so the ''other'' Mephisto breaks the fourth wall because she didn't scold him.

* ThisIsYourSong: In EX Comic 026, Mash sings "[[LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya God Knows...]]", a song about someone expressing their desire to help a struggling companion who pushes others away, as a way to get through to Rikku and her GuiltComplex.

* ArmorPiercingResponse: Rikku asks Karna why all warriors are obsessed with victory and defeat, proposing to simply ''sit'' and ''talk'' their issues. While Karna admits this course of action would have saved many lives in his own story, he responds with another question: would they be remembered as heroes if all they had done was sit and talk?

* BeliefMakesYouStupid: Subverted. While its uncertain what Rikku's faith is in, she doesn't seem to deny Gods existence or have negative views on the religion. What she doesn't like is people who say God does everything, and believes people should help themselves before relying on God like Jeanne. Overall, she states she has nothing against God.

** In Comic 392, Rikku is so used to the song and dance that she uses a whiteboard and writes uses three events that are likely to be happening in the town they're at; A knightly Rouge Servant protecting the town, an Anti-Hero beating up monsters for fun, or "A wannabe idol mistook them for fans, and subjected them to a free 'concert'."

* AllMenArePerverts: During the "The Garden of Order" arc, when [[GagBoobs Artoria Lancer Alter]] gets upset at being called skinny and strips, Romani naturally wants to record it. Rikku responds with [[SugaryMalice happily locking his Magi Mari files]] when she gets back.

* BuxomBeautyStandard: Zig-zagged. Shiki suggests everyone ignore Lancer Artoria Alter's GagBoobs because their huge size will mess up their sense of scale. Rikku agrees and says that she thinks "the perfect size would be [[CannotSpitItOut Maaaaa-]]" before deciding to shut up.

* GagBoobs: True to the source material, Artoria Lancer Alter's huge chest is a source of humor. Shiki suggests to stop looking at them or they will mess up their sense of scale.

** After defeating Artoria Lancer Alter, Shiki makes a comment about how overly-huge her GagBoobs are and suggests everyone leave. Rikku agrees, and says that she thinks "the perfect size would be [[CannotSpitItOut Maaaaa-]]" before deciding to shut up.

* BareYourMidriff: Rikku wears the top from the male version of the True Ether Mystic Code as opposed to its midriff-showing female version during Orleans to avoid this, much to Da Vinci's disappointment. When entering Septem, Rikku finds that Da Vinci swapped the male top out for another version in eye-searing bright colors to encourage her to wear an outfit with a midriff, which doesn't work until Nero forces her into the alternate outfit after being convinced by Da Vinci that Rikku lacks confidence to want to wear it.

* BuxomIsBetter: Zig-zagged. Shiki suggests everyone ignore Lancer Artoria Alter's GagBoobs because their huge size will mess up their sense of scale. Rikku agrees and says that she thinks "the perfect size would be [[CannotSpitItOut Maaaaa-]]" before deciding to shut up.

** After a battle in Septem, Rikku says that she doesn't mind being pressed against Mash because she was pressed up against ''[[BuxomIsBetter Mash]]'' in particular.

* VitriolicBestBuds: Rikku and Mordred act this way during London. After Mordred gives Rikku a TheReasonYouSuckSpeech as a lecture to help with Rikku's self-esteem, Mash gets confused once her Master laughs and the two get into a friendly conversation because she thought they hated each other.

** EX 078 ("[[{{Pun}} Berserker Button]]") revolves around this. Rikku is playing a game with a weapon called the Sword of Achilles with the sound muted because hearing Achilles' name would piss off Penthesilea (who has a ''huge'' mad on for Achilles) and lead to the console and the TV being obliterated. After Rikku and Mash manage to have a conversation about the situation without saying his name through the use of euphemisms and word-swaps, Osabekihime walks in and asks what's wrong with saying Achilles' name, resulting in an angry Penthesilea barging in.

** EX 146, following up from the previous Extra Comic where Medb drinks over half of Chaldea's supply of Mysterious Divine Wine and goads Rikku into a drinking contest by calling her a lightweight, has Da Vinci force Medb and Rikku to sit seiza and tell Rikku that Mash, who has absorbed the toxins from the Wine Rikku chugged down and become drunk and clingy, can't be put to bed as her punishment is the knowledge that she can't bring herself to lay a hand on Mash even when she's acting flirty. Rikku calls Da Vinci evil in response.

* ReluctantFanserviceGirl: Da Vinci is very fond of trying to force Rikku into skimpy outfits, which she doesn't take very well.

** EX 078 ("[[{{Pun}} Berserker Button]]") revolves around this. * BrutalHonesty: In Comic 228, aptly named "Consequences of Honesty", Rikku says that it's adorable that Jeanne d'Arc Alter practiced her handwriting just to send a letter to Santa and calls her an "earnest girl". Jeanne Alter declares that she's going to kill her, and Rikku [[OpenMouthInsertFoot calls herself out for saying that]].

* RealityEnsues:
** When Rikku asks Mash if she has any chocolate so that she can deal with her low blood sugar, Mash promptly defies the {{Hammerspace}} the other characters had been using in the previous strips and points out that not only does [[ChainmailBikini her outfit]] lack pockets, but any chocolate she put in one would melt.
** TalkingIsAFreeAction, but not for Blackbeard, who Rikku tries to shoot with a cannon during his big speech despite him saying that it's common in anime to not interrupt an enemy's monologue or [[TransformationIsAFreeAction transformation sequence]].

* ShoutOut: Inevitable for a comic with a GenreSavvy GamerChick protagonist. To whit:
** During the first Servant battle, Rikku tells Mash "Fight not to win. Fight to not lose." from the ''[[VideoGame/GodEater Gods Eater Burst/God Eater Resurrection]]'', something El-Melloi points out later.
** The title of the 17th comic, "The Night, er- Hour Before" is a reference to the "night before the final battle" naming scheme for the events and skits for the ''VideoGame/TalesSeries''.
** Comic 023, the one after Sasaki Kojirou introduces himself, is titled [[Literature/IAmLegend "I am Regend!"]].
** After Sasaki mentions cutting swallows, Rikku asks "[[Film/MontyPythonAndTheHolyGrail An African or a European swallow?]]".
** Comic 033, where Rikku throws a bucket of water over Jeanne Alter, is titled "Oh, Darn. She Didn't Melt.", referencing the Wicked Witch of the West's fate in ''Literature/TheWonderfulWizardOfOz'' after Dorothy did the same to her.
** Also in Comic 033, Rikku tells Jeanne Alter not to underestimate worms, stating that "[[VideoGame/{{Worms}} Super Sheep, Bananan Bombs, and HHGs]] are terrifying."
** Upon finding out that Marie has sacrificed herself, Rikku sings some lyrics from ''[[VideoGame/GodEater God Eater Burst's]]'' "No Way Back" to soothe herself.
** In Comic 055, when wondering why Elisabeth and Kiyohime are still with the group, Rikku qoutes [[VideoGame/HyperdimensionNeptuniaMk2 Nepgear]] by saying "What the goodness?"
** During Rikku's conversation with Caesar in Comic 072 "Proper Etiquette," she quotes [[VideoGame/TalesofSymphonia Lloyd Irving]], "Who are you to ask for my name?"
** The title of Comic 077, "You're making me tired. You wouldn't like me when I'm tired.", is a riff on David Banner's line from ''Series/TheIncredibleHulk1977'', "Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry."
** The title of Comic 089, "Forget the Noobs and Let's Go!", is one of Futaba Sakura's navigation lines in ''VideoGame/Persona5''.
** The title of Comic 096, showing the fight against Altera at the end of Septem, is "Let's Get Down to Business", the first lyric from ''WesternAnimation/{{Mulan}}'s'' "I'll Make a Man out of You".
** Rikku assures Da Vinci that she doesn't need to go to the infirmary after being bed bound from Nero Fest by saying "[[Film/MontyPythonAndTheHolyGrail 'Tis only a flesh wound. ...I've had worse.]]" Emiya denies this and tells her that quoting Monty Python won't let her laugh her injuries off.
** Rikku's outfit during the first Halloween event matches the female protagonist from ''[[VideoGame/Persona3 Persona 3 Portable]]''.
** Rikku thinks that the fog machine in London resembles The Cauldron from ''VideoGame/OdinSphere''.
** In EX Comic 015, Rikku is listening to the opening song for ''WebAnimation/{{RWBY}}'' on her headphones and asks "Are you... robbing me?" when Mash gets her attention, referencing a scene where Ruby is also listening to the opening song and doesn't realize she's being held up at first because of her headphones. ** EX Comic 026 portrays a karaoke session where Rikku sings "Exec_Cosmoflips" from ''VideoGame/ArTonelicoQogaKnellofArCiel'' and Mash sings "God Knows..." from ''LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya''.

** An EX Comic arc adapts scenes from ''Film/MontyPythonAndTheHolyGrail'' with the ''Fate'' versions of the Knights of the Round Table and several other stand-ins playing out the scenarios.
** Rikku describes BB's replacement for Hawaii's currency during the third summer event as "basically TabletopGame/{{Monopoly}} money''.
