Adding theory.

Peter Burke was born August 25, 1951. On August 19, 1980, just six days before his 28th birthday, he took off with the crew of Probe Six. The spacecraft went through a wormhole that took him to the year 3085. After the events of the TV series, he managed to get back to the 21st century, but ended up in c.2002-2003. Since he looked younger than he should have been, he changed his birth year to 1974 and joined the FBI. FridgeHorror: Five centuries after ''White Collar,'' the apes will take over the world.

[[WMG: Mozzie is Gerard Hirsch from Hawaii 5-0]] Gerald states that he is from New Jersey, which is close to New York, and has a background in art theft. He also seems to know about other types of white collar crimes. After leaving New York at the end of the show, he re-took an old alias and moved to Hawaii, where he unfortunately slipped up and was caught.

[[WMG: Neal is [[HelpfulNotes/HighFunctioningAutism autistic]]

It explains his eye for detail, especially when it comes to forgeries, his occasional immaturity, and why he is a con-man in the first place. To learn more about people. Plus, autistic people have an outsider perspective on normal people and ''particularly'' their emotions. He could thus easily use it to his advantage.
* In "Controlling Interest", Dr Summers mentions that he lies to himself, through "smiling a lot" to hide vulnerability. Like, for instance, a heightened emotional state?..
* Autism and PDA(Pathological Demand Aversion) are two related conditions, and a mild form of the latter could explain why he constantly goes back to old ways, while showing that he cares for Peter and has a connection to the "good side". It's not just a dual morality, the conflict is constant, tense, and shifting. Specifically, Neal feels ''guilty'', while at the same time doubting whether he truly is. (All the times he's confessed to Peter, points to yes)

*** Near the end of "Deadline", there's a glimmer of hope that Neal will stay when [[CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming Peter says that Neal is officially part of the family]]. After he says that, there's a look on Neal's face that shows that he might not want to leave. And if you pay attention during "On Guard", Neal does seem a bit hesitant on leaving.
