On floor 13 of Pork City in Another Day, Neku mentions having a friend who died a few years back, and this is implied to be the reason that the main Neku is antisocial. The friend died while Neku was at a CAT mural, the same place Neku was when he was murdered by Joshua. Composer Joshua sees other humans as wastes of space, similar to Neku and in the vein of many teenagers, while his knowledge of youth culture far exceeding his knowledge of adult culture indicates that he became composer very recently, or hasn't aged emotionally in the same way he still looks 15 . He acts very different to the way he did while playing the game on Week 2, which could be interpreted as proof that his player persona was a charade. The only way to become a composer is to defeat the current composer, and while it is not known if Joshua did that or was the original, his knowledge of "Jacking Shibuya" seems to imply that he dethroned his predecessor. The fact he knows so much about Neku tells me that either his powers are much greater in the RPG than we are lead to believe, or he's known Neku for a long, long time. Combined, these details lead me to believe that Neku's friend who died on the way to the CAT mural actually overthrew the then-composer and became Joshua. Though Neku doesn't recognise Josh even with his memories, shape-shifting is a common reaper power, so it isn't unrealistic to assume that he isn't using his real body, or that, like Shiki, his most prized possession was his appearance, the one thing that tied him to his old life. Plus, Square Enix [=RPGs=] do tend to use these sort of twists based on relationships a fair amount- Final Fantasy VIII has the infamous "Orphanage" revelation, or Doan being the descendant of Crono and Marle in Chrono Trigger.
* This would also explain the {{I Never Told You My Name}} moment between Josh and Neku at the beginning of the week!

* The fact that Shiki wants to get back doesn't automatically mean she didn't kill herself. It's not uncommon for someone to commit suicide and realize that they really don't want to die once it's set in motion. The way Shiki talks about hating herself and feeling worthless is a pretty common symptom of depression, and the crash back into that thinking after getting [[HannibalLecture Hannibal Lectured]] by Higashizawa makes it at least plausible.

* Can we at least assume that Noise exist everywhere, and therefore play a role in each region's UG? (On that note, I just imagined several different uses of Noise in said games: a Pokemon-style game, a mounted combat game where you can ride various Noise into combat, and, um... MyLittlePony-type Noise. I'm going to assume the last one is the fault of having a female Composer. And of course, the Furry in me has to offer up the idea of the players becoming Noise in a game, or at least developing their own Cantus forms.)

Daten City is a UG ''and'' RG (different rules), but obviously a different type of game; one that doesn't rely on pins but instead, clothes that can transform into specific types of weapons. Judgement, being the Composer, replaced the Reapers with Demons. And I'm just throwing this out here: Corset is the GM, and the people that aren't part of the game (everyone besides our main characters) are NPCs. The Zippers are a lower level of Reapers with a lot of restrictions placed on them. Judgement herself has a Proxy, who is Garterbelt.

** While this is very good and understandable, hear me out: this isn't Neku's entry fee, but '''Sanae's'''. From the Secret Reports, it reads: "Minamimoto is my backup plan to ensure Shibuya's survival. If the Composer does not change his mind, this unique city will be lost.

I must prevent that at any cost."

It is clear that Sanae loves Shibuya '''very''' much, to the point where he became a Fallen Angel just to let Shibuya thrive once more. In all honesty, it seems like Sanae loves the people of Shibuya and Shibuya itself more than Neku.

Ok, this is mostly just me thinking this because the artstyles of both of these series are similar to each other. Panty and Stocking used to be Reapers who eventually ascended into angelhood. Judgement was their previous Producer and offered them instant angelhood in return for them to become her servants up in heaven.

Because now that Neku is appearing in VideoGame/KingdomHearts3D, ''VideoGame/KingdomHearts3DDreamDropDistance'', crossovers are in play.

With Neku confirmed to appear in ''VideoGame/KingdomHearts3D'', it's basically confirmed that TWEWY is part of the ''Franchise/KingdomHearts'' universe now. The only problem would be whether Shibuya itself (and perhaps Tokyo) would be a "world", or if the world would be Earth.

[[WMG:The sequel will be the events in ''VideoGame/KingdomHearts3D'' from the point of view of the ''VideoGame/TheWorldEndsWithYou'' characters.]]
The appearance of the ''VideoGame/TheWorldEndsWithYou'' characters in Traverse Town is actually canon - they're playing a Reaper's Game there (this is actually confirmed in ''VideoGame/KingdomHearts3D'', as an early cutscene shows a timer on Neku's hand). The next game in this series will take place in Traverse Town, and show what the ''TWEWY'' characters were doing. In ''Franchise/KingdomHearts'' style, there will be two stories to follow - one from the point of view of Neku and Shiki, and the other from the point of view of Beat and Rhyme (Joshua will probably just be an NPC). The battles will be against Nightmares, but done TWEWY-style, and instead of pins and Psychs you would have Spirits (but which, gameplay-wise, would function the same way as the pins, with different actions (touching, slashing, etc.) required to use each Spirit's attack). In essence, the whole game would be a Reaper's Game in Traverse Town, complete with walls, Reapers and everything.
