* Alternately, [[spoiler:Link's wish wasn't actually to kill Demise, but to save Zelda, which vanquishing Demise was merely a necessary step towards. * ''Breath of the Wild'' actually posits some truth toward this theory - the Trial of the Sword, designed to unleash the true power of the Master Sword, is hinted to take place inside the blade itself, and the rooms feature the same technological aesthetic as the ancient shrines constructed by the Sheikah.

* ''Breath of the Wild'' semi-implies otherwise, as a location in western Hyrule bears the name "Breach of Demise." It's a significant distance from Death Mountain, though given the game being set in the distant future, it could just be a reference.

I mean, let's look at the similarities. Batreaux retains an ugly, demon-like appearance even after becoming human. Dampé, likewise, is apparently human but has a distinctively ugly, almost unhuman-looking face. Also, they both live on the fringes of societey, next to a graveyard.

[[WMG: Alternatively, Link is autistic]]
As the above WMG points out, Link engages in some behaviors that are decidedly abnormal -- smashing everyone's pots, sleeping in their beds without permission, etc. However, "sociopath" probably isn't the right word for whatever is up with him (as this implies a total LackOfEmpathy, and many of his actions demonstrate he is capable of caring about others).

Instead, he could be autistic. In this case, the behaviors could be explained by a lack of comprehension of social norms -- it may not be normal to sleep in everyone's beds and smash their pots, but Link doesn't understand this, and most of Skyloft's population have graciously decided to tolerate the various "unique" behaviors of their most "special" resident without comment, having decided that that's just how he is, and that they're willing to live with it.

It would also explain his muteness.

* Instead of having fled to escape the sealing, maybe he escaped it be because he deserted from Demise's army ''well before'' it happened? Hylia sends up Skyloft to get the humans out of the way before she fights and ultimately seals away Demise and his army of demons. Given that he doesn't share the violent tendencies of the other demons, maybe he ultimately decided to [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desertion desert]] from the demon army and was already on the run from them when Syloft rose, and he managed to hitch a ride on it. When Nintendo was working on the flying minigame parts of TP, they probably got the idea that "hey, why don't we make this the main mode of transportation in the same manner as the horse and boat?" Thus, they took notes from how the flying worked in that game and how it worked in ''WiiSportsResort'' and came up with the flying in ''Skyward Sword''.

[[WMG: Fi was a Sheikah]]
* Going along with the theory that [[spoiler: Ghirahim was a general in Demise's army before being made a sword spirit,]] it's possible that Fi was originally a human being, perhaps someone who lost her life in the war, and who Hylia decide to preserve by [[JustForPun linking]] her with the Goddess Sword. Her style of dress shares similarities with what Impa wears, and her being so agile and graceful as a sword spirit would be appropriate for a member of a tribe of ninjas. Her being sealed in a comatose sleep inside the sword is similar to the shrine monks in ''Breath of the Wild'', and the fact that the Trial of the Sword has similar aesthetics to the Sheikah's ancient technology suggests a possible connection between the Sheikah and the Master Sword.

The pedestal might actually help speed the process up.]]

[[WMG: Some of Fi's CaptainObvious moments have an explanation.]]
Whenever you complete a puzzle, you get a cutscene showing the results of what you just did. However, it would be weird for Link to have an out-of-body experience every time he solves a puzzle, so instead, Fi fills him in on what happened BehindTheBlack from Link's perspective. It's just redundant to us as players because we saw the same thing she did.

While she was busy [[spoiler:flooding her forest, the Imprisoned nearly escaped from its seal twice without any intervention on her part]]. She is also the only one of the dragons to give Link ''[[ThatOneLevel another]]'' test after he already passed each and every test that her bosses, the goddesses, put in front of him. ''Not'' something you want to do when it's only a matter of time before [[spoiler:the Imprisoned breaks free again]]. Clearly she has control issues that need to be sorted out. I wouldn't be surprised if Farore herself turned her into a monkey as a way of humbling her so that she'd be more helpful to the hero next time around.
* Also, Faron got herself a chaperone. Remember Ordona?
* Thank goodness someone else also has their gripes with Faron. I thought I was alone!

[[WMG: The Gust Bellows doesn't just provide a gust of wind: it also sprays the Hylian equivilent of Lysol (or some other various aerosol based cleaning agents corrosive enough to flat out destroy grime.)]]

[[WMG: The reason Scrapper is such a [[JerkAss jerk]] to Link is because a previous incarnation of Link caused him trouble.]]
Link didn't do ''anything'' to Scrapper to warrant the hostility he shows towards him, and Link is also the only person Scrapper goes out of his way to insult. WordOfGod said that while this game is currently the earliest one to date, they didn't say it was the ''first'' one. Recall that in [[Videogame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime Ocarina of Time]], Guru-Guru was actually pretty nice before Link played the Song of Storms and messed up his windmill. Perhaps a previous Link did something similar to Scrapper, as he often orders Link to stay out of his way while he's lifting something.

[[WMG: The Amber Relics scattered across Hyrule's overworld are made out of the material for [[spoiler:the encasing that Zelda put herself in before she went to sleep in the past to keep the seal on Demise.]]]]
Both of the materials seem to have the same luster and colour as each other.

[[WMG: The Sealed Temple becomes the new Temple of Time.]]
Meanwhile, the old Temple of Time in Lanayru Desert gets built up into the Spirit Temple.

[[WMG: The Kokiri Sword used to be [[spoiler:Ghirahim.]]]]
After the beating it took, the sword lost all of its magic and degenerated into the small and pathetic Kokiri Sword. However, when Zubora and Gabora in ''Majora's Mask'' upgrade it into the Gilded Sword, it begins to show signs of the powerful sword it used to be (diamond patterns on blade, red markings on hilt, pointy guard shaped vaguely like bat wings, etc.)

[[WMG: Tentalus and Scaldera were residents banished from the Monster World]]
Scaldera was an ancestor of [[WesternAnimation/MonstersInc Mike Wazowski]] and Tentalus was an ancestor of Celia and this woman: [[http://i39.tinypic.com/14y1f9i.jpg]]
* Alternately, Tentalus is the long-lost mutated child gone rogue of Mike and Celia, as they were a couple in the movie.

[[WMG: The Kikwi eventually evolve into the Kokiri, and the Parella evolve into the Zoras.]]
Which makes the Kokiri PlantPeople.
* It's also possible that, being forest spirits, they just change shape on the whims of the Spirit Tree, like they did when they changed into Koroks.
* Confirmed, at least in the case of Parella becoming Zoras, by the Hyrule Historia.
** Wrong-o. HH only said they were based on the Zora, not related to them.

[[WMG: Alternatively, the Kikwi evolve into the Deku Scrubs.]]
* Or not, as there are already Deku Scrubs in Skyward Sword.
** Actually, they don't appear at all in ''Skyward Sword''. It's the ''Octoroks'' that have taken in their role, so the theory still stands.

[[WMG: There will be a game that takes place immediately after ''Skyward Sword''.]]
There are a number of gaps, holes, and other lingering questions by the end of the game. Some of them look like they'll take a while to get resolved, but some of them immediately involve Link and those he knows and thus require a game that will star this same Link. Some of the lingering plot points, in order of immediacy, are [[spoiler:Groose's role as a hero (he helped Link against the Imprisoned but did nothing after going back in time); the association of the Hylian Shield with Link; the Hylians' return to the surface; the split of the Triforce and the distribution of the pieces between Link, Zelda, and an unknown third person (Ganondorf stole the Triforce of Power); the proper introductions to the goddesses Din, Farore, and Nayru; what became of the Kikwis, Mogmas, and Parellas; and the Gorons' settlement into towns.]] Perhaps also the invention of bombs, as we see that all subsequent Links don't need to look for Bomb Flowers for their detonation needs. And the invention of the Boomerang. [[spoiler:However, as Fi and the Master Sword have been sealed in the temple, Link would need to make use of a different sword.]] Similarly...
* Actually, the Triforce didn't latch themselves to people until Ganondorf stole the Triforce the first time in Ocarina. When Link reforms the Triforce in Skyward Sword, he's seen with the entirety of it on his wrist, not just the Triforce of Courage. Sure, it's the first he sees on the back of his hand, but he eventually receives all of it. The reason it stayed together under his use is the same reason that it split when Ganondorf used it -- the Triforce can only stay together while being used if the user is pure of heart. Ganondorf, using it for his own evil gain, splits the triangles, the (possibly) first time the Triforce has granted an evil wish. That is what caused the pieces to retreat to other individuals. The most likely explanation for their attachment to Link and Zelda is [[spoiler:Demise's curse (that a reincarnation of his hatred (Ganon, other villains) would always come to face one with the spirit of the hero (Link) and one with the bloodline of the Goddess Hylia (Zelda)).]]

[[WMG: This is not the first Zelda game in the timeline.]]
I forgot where, but there was mention of this Link not being the first one, nor is Zelda. In addition to the WMG above guessing that Scrapper worked with a previous Link, there will most certainly be a game about the war between Hylia and Demise as described at the beginning of the game. As the Ancient Robots were counted among one of the races that fought during the war, this will be set during the time that Lanayru was verdant and colorful, and the Ancient Robots had not yet been deactivated.
* Jossed by Hyrule Historia, which specifically says that Skyward Sword is the first/earliest game in the timeline.
** Nope. Hyrule Historia only states that it is the first game in the timeline at the time of the book's creation. They mention multiple times that this Link is an incarnation of the hero that aided Hylia during her war.

[[WMG: The "cloud barrier" is...]]
...a layer of supersaturated air several miles thick. Thus explaining why inanimate objects can make it through just fine while still allowing for its function as a barrier: any ''living'' thing that went through would drown before coming out the other side.
* Jossed. When Link uses the Triforce [[spoiler:and the Statue of the Goddess falls through the clouds]], he falls through the clouds just fine.
** Not necessarily. As you said, he uses the Triforce, an extremely powerful magical artifact blessed by the goddesses. If it can protect him from the impact that would naturally occur when ''a floating island suddenly falls from the sky'' (as I recall, the island's momentum is slowed near the end so it can fit neatly into the pit), it would probably protect him against some other issues as well. Can't have the chosen hero meeting an early death due to something silly like the laws of physics!

[[WMG: The sealed form of Demise is a connection to Ganon]]
Stating the obvious, yes, but I'll go deeper. The sealed Demise is weaker than Demise himself, so think about it; often when Ganondorf is involved, Ganon is unleashed when Ganondorf is defeated and thus weakened.

[[WMG: Groose is the ancestor of at least one of Tetra's pirates]]
For one thing, their themes sound surprisingly similar. Also, it seems that Groose has become one of the closest friends Link and Zelda have apart from each other; his descendants probably were among the royal attendants who are implied to be the predecessors of Tetra's crew.
* Gonzo is probably the most likely of the bunch to be his descendant; it certainly would create a nice thematic and familial connection between Groose and his Groosenator and [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaSpiritTracks Alfonzo]] and his train.

[[WMG: Demise wasn’t the first enemy of Hylia.]]
After the Golden Goddesses left the world they had created, but long before the rise of Demise’s armies, several gods tried to seize the ultimate power. They would have used it to [[TakeOverTheWorld conquer]], [[OmnicidalManiac annihilate]], or [[UtopiaJustifiesTheMeans purify]] the heavens. One by one, they perished at the blade of Her Grace, the skilled guardian of the Triforce. However, and just like Demise would later promise an incarnation of his hatred, each passing god left a trace of its own. Ironically, one of Hylia’s opponents, known only as [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaMajorasMask the Fierce Deity]], was the very source of the “spirit of the hero” the goddess would then manipulate into serving her plans.

[[WMG: Hylia's first Hero was named Mattas.]]
Fi's [[SpeakingSimlish Simlish]] is not random. If you listen carefully, the same "words" show up in relation to English words. The most prominent of these is "Mattas" for "Link". Her calling him that is her acknowledging his role as TheHero.
* Addendum: Mattas was, like Hylia, a deity. [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaMajorasMask A fierce deity.]]
** But Fi usually calls Link "Master Link" or "Master" a lot more than just using his name [[spoiler:(the ending being one of a few exceptions)]]. Maybe "mattas" is hylian for "master".
*** Debatable. "Mattas" corresponds to "Link," but "Master Link" is linked with "Ma'i-Mattas." This normally wouldn't be that important, but the two "Mattas" clips are different from each other. Mattas by itself has the accent on the second syllable, but the Mattas in Ma'i-Mattas has the same stress on both syllables. This was intentional. Most likely, "master (name)" in ancient Hylian is "Ma'i-(name) and "Link" is just how the (common?) Hylian name "Mattas" is translated.
*** Fi is actually saying "Mati" and "Madas" when every she says "Master" and "(Insert name)" respectively, but the basic point stands; the consistency of those vocalizations means we know the Hylian word for master, and likely, "Madas" is the first Hero's name, since even the Hyrule Historia states not all the Heroes were actually named Link, that's just the name of legend history gives them.
*** Actually, the part says that "they may not even share the same name" in a way that suggests they do not share a family or clan name, as is typical of Japanese naming conventions. Given the context that the previous line gave (that some may be related, either directly or indirectly), it seems to merely suggest they do not all share the same bloodline.

[[WMG: The empty space in the Triforce symbol represents Hylia.]]
She had no part in creating the land or the Triforce, but stayed on as guardian. Like the hollow "triangle" in the center connects the other three together, she preserves the creation of the Goddesses.
* Or, alternately, like with the real-world "Yin-Yang", the empty space could represent "Negative Space", or a balancing mechanism; it could even represent the darkness that Demise himself represents.
** Or, Hylia is the oft-rumored "fourth goddess" who represents the upside down triangle at the bottom of [=OoT=]'s Hylian Shield.

[[WMG: Hylia's power is the [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTheMinishCap Light Force.]]]]
The Legend in ''The Minish Cap'' was inaccurate. The Minish didn't bring the Light Force; they made the Hylians aware of Zelda's sacred abilities, which also explains why Ezlo, a ''sage'' of the Minish, didn't even know what exactly it was. The rest is self-explanatory.

[[WMG: Strich did the whole "use potions to become stronger/more confident" thing long before Fledge tried it.]]
He's the most physically imposing student at the academy, even more so than Groose. He's also the bravest; note that he is the only knight in training who isn't a part of the Goddess's quest to routinely leave Skyloft, and he's the only resident of Skyloft who dared to enter the thunderhead in its current state. This points to a particularly brave personality and an impressive physical regiment, and considering he's an unskilled enough flyer to not be an upperclassman yet, he probably didn't get it through years of effort at the academy. And he's got both things necessary to obtain a healthy potion supply: expendable funds (he barely hesitates to buy from you at night) and a large bug collection.

[[WMG: The Goddess Sword.]]
It's stated in-game that Hylia created both Fi and the Master/Goddess Sword to guide the chosen hero. And based on the overall design of Demise's sword, I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest that the two are related somehow.\\
So here's my theory. Hylia forged a number of powerful magical swords to use in the war against Demise. During the war, Demise seized one and corrupted it, forming the Dark Master Sword [[spoiler:and Ghirahim, who served as one of his lieutenants]]. Hylia was forced to seal them all away, but she knew it wouldn't last, so she created Fi (perhaps she was inspired by [[spoiler:Ghirahim]]) and went on with her {{plan}} for when Demise escaped.\\
The other magical swords were lost to time, but they retained some of their power. One of them was found by the Minish and given to the Hero of Men, but it was broken by Vaati and reforged with the power of the elements to become the Four Sword. The Lokomo Sword was found by nondescript "Spirits of Good" and given to the Lokomo (who gave it to Link), the Great Fairy's Sword ended up in Termina, and perhaps the White/Magical Swords (from the original) and the Kokiri Sword (from [=OoT=] and MM) might be related too. This is a comparatively weak WMG, but I just like the idea.
* What about the Phantom Sword from ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaPhantomHourglass Phantom Hourglass]]''?
** That one is forged in game, you have to gather the materials yourself.

[[WMG: ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaSkywardSword Skyward Sword]]'' split the timeline. Again.]]
At the end of the game, [[spoiler:Demise has been defeated in his arena-realm, and his consciousness has been sucked into the Master Sword. However,
what happened to the Imprisoned, who died onscreen as The Sky Keep smushed him flat and sealed up the Sealed Grounds for good? He could not have [[RetGone poofed out of existence]], as Link, Zelda, and Groose retain their memories of the adventure (Groose's and Zelda's respective intact character development and "Thus ends a story I like to call The Legend Of Groose" point to this). Besides, time travel is additive in Zelda ([[TemporalParadox creation of items and pieces of music]] through StableTimeLoop, the extra timelines of [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime Ocarina of Time]]), and never completely destroys things. The point of all this is that, through Ghirahim's release of Demise in the past, and Link's subsequent defeat of Demise, a new timeline was created in which these events occurred. However, there will be no more games in this new timeline, the one that came about due to Demise's defeat and imprisonment in the Master Sword. This is squarely because of Demise's curse. Demise cursed those with "The blood of the goddess and the spirit of the hero", Link and Zelda, both of whom returned home to the timeline where Sky Keep fell on top of the Imprisoned. In so doing, they removed all of Demise's curse from the timeline in which he died.]]
* Alternatively, the entire game is a stable timeloop, as evidenced by [[spoiler:Zelda's crystal being in the back room of the Sealed Temple the very first time you go there, and Impa having Zelda's bracelet the first time you meet her. The events of the game already happened -- Demise was defeated, his conciousness sealed in the Master Sword and hidden in the Temple while his body was sucked back into the seal, where he rose again as the Imprisoned several more times, attempting to reach his lost conciousness at the Temple, before finally being killed.]]

** [[spoiler:The Master Sword wasn't sealed away until after Demise was destroyed in the past, but the Gate of Time (and Zelda) are still in the present-day Sealed Temple. [[WMG:The three dragons are not the same characters as the three Light Spirits from ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess Twilight Princess]]'']]
It's possible that the names of the provinces came first, and then those names were given to actual people. So, the dragons and the Spirits took their names from the provinces, but are otherwise unrelated.
* Alternatively, Faron, Eldin, and Lanaryu aren't names, but titles given to the guardian of said region.

[[WMG:Loftwings that learn the Spiral Charge technique are capable of traveling to and from the surface of the world at will.]]
Something about being able to [[Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann pierce the heavens]], I suspect.

[[WMG:Eldin is somehow related to Volvagia.]]
Either he IS Volvagia, or Volvagia is his offspring.
* Regardless of which is true, this means that Ganondorf's actions in Ocarina most likely corrupted all of the Dragons. When the Hero of Time defeated Ganon, they were "reborn" into their spiritual forms seen in Twilight Princess.

[[WMG:Demise is not only the source of all evil in the Zeldaverse, his influence is felt in others.]]
Consider: the man looks like a FusionDance of [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess Twilight Princess]]'s Ganondorf, [[{{Manga/Berserk}} Nosferatu Zodd]], [[StreetFighter Akuma]], and [[VisualNovel/FateStayNight Berserker]]. As this game is a prequel, he clearly imprinted on many other universes, establishing a foothold there so he can conquer them later.

[[WMG:The timeline split again, and in one of the timelines, Hyrule becomes the Sacred Realm mentioned in the
rest of the games.]]
In the timeline in which most of the game takes place, Demise is completely eradicated by the Triforce, and Link, Zelda, and all the humans and other races watch over the Triforce in peace (Timeline 1, or T-1). In the timeline accessed through the Gate of Time, Link faces Ghirahim and the fully resurrected Demise, and Demise curses Hyrule to face an incarnation of his hatred, who would come to be known as Ganon (Timeline 2, or T-2).

So in T-1, let's assume that Demise was never fully resurrected and never made his curse, and that the Triforce never has to be sealed away because evil has been pretty much eradicated. It follows that
this sentence?)]]Hyrule becomes a golden land blessed by the presence of the whole Triforce completely controlled by the forces of good. This blessed Hyrule becomes the Sacred Realm.

But in T-2, with Demise having been sealed in the Master Sword but not fully destroyed, and with Demise's curse, evil still lurks across the land, leading to the wars for the Triforce first mentioned in ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaALinkToThePast A Link to the Past]]''. But while the backstory states elsewhere that the Triforce in T-2 was sealed away, what might have actually happened is that the Seven Sages actually wished for the Triforce to be beyond the reach of evil, which was fulfilled by having the T-2 Triforce eradicated. Thus, by the time of ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime Ocarina of Time]]'', there is only a single Triforce across all timelines that exist by then.

Thus, the Temple of Time seen in ''Ocarina of Time'' does not actually access an entirely different dimension, but simply lets anyone using the Gate of Time access T-2. So when Ganondorf goes through to the Sacred Realm when Hero of Time Link gets the Master Sword, he is going to the Hyrule that was free from evil until he came. As a result, the golden Hyrule of T-1 is conquered by evil once again, and the Triforce is stolen.

The reason the DarkWorld is Hyrule's dark mirror is not because Ganon's dark heart turned it into that purely by magic, but because it was ''already'' Hyrule in another timeline. Because T-1 Hyrule was an evil-free utopia, there was no need to maintain any sort of army, meaning that Ganondorf conquered it rather easily. Certain gloomy aspects of the Dark World may stem more directly from the natural effects of being a subjugated realm.

As a result of all this, the split timelines that WordOfGod has officially confirmed (Adult timeline, Child timeline, Decline timeline) split off directly from T-2. However, T-1 gets split alongside it because the Sacred Realm/Dark World is confirmed to exist in all of them and gets affected differently each time as a result. In essence, there are actually '''''eight''''' timeline splits: the two from ''Skyward Sword'', and the three pairs of splits for those previous two from ''Ocarina of Time''.

On a side note, this might also result in two other effects regarding the two swords that are central to the plot of ''Skyward Sword''.

For one thing, the Master Sword of T-1 does not contain the lingering essence of Demise. It's possible that, because it is completely free from any evil, it becomes the ultra-powerful Golden Sword from ''A Link to the Past''. This would explain why it is found in the Dark World/Sacred Realm/T-1 Hyrule. And the reason it is found in the possession of the Great Fairy Venus rather than in a pedestal is because, during Ganondorf's invasion of the Sacred Realm/T-1 Hyrule, the forces of good took the T-1 Master Sword/Golden Sword from its pedestal and hid it before Ganondorf could find it and destroy it.

Also, as speculated above, Ghirahim does indeed become the Trident of Power. The Ghirahim of T-1 goes through the Gate of Time to T-2, revives Demise, gets forcibly turned into the Anti-Master Sword, and is eradicated when Link defeats Demise. However, the Ghirahim of T-2 would still exist; it's just that Demise being locked in the Master Sword would mean that his evil machinations would unfold quite differently from how they did throughout ''Skyward Sword''.

First, because the resurrection of Demise is no longer a goal that T-2 Ghirahim can attain, his efforts instead focus on either conquering Hyrule himself or making sure Demise's curse is brought about. It's possible that Ghirahim became the founder and leader of the Dark Interlopers who tried to steal the T-2 Triforce and eventually became the Twili of ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess Twilight Princess]]''. This would explain certain similarities between the Twili characters and Ghirahim (similar VillainTeleportation, strange skin coloring, over-the-top mannerisms, ultimately subservient to the vastly more powerful Demise/Ganon). In fact, when Midna talks about the ancient king who was driven mad by the same greed that she sees in Zant's eyes, she may have been referring to T-2 Ghirahim.

But due to the failure of Ghirahim's Dark Interloper plot, he falls back on Plan B: seal himself in the Trident of Power and make sure that, in this form, he can help the eventual incarnation of Demise's hatred attain the height of his magical potential. In fact, Ghirahim may have either created or influenced the development of the Gerudo to make this flow more smoothly. For one, he influenced their culture so that they would wish to isolate themselves from the other inhabitants of Hyrule, making them extra protective of their desert land and all dwelling in it, including the Trident of Power's resting place. Also, he altered their biology so that there would only be one male Gerudo every 100 years, ensuring that, among this pet race of Ghirahim's, there would be a convenient vessel for Demise's curse who would be in a position of sufficient power (King of the Gerudo) to amass an army and be on high-enough diplomatic ground with the Royal Family of Hyrule to manipulate them. Twinrova may have been a colleague of Ghirahim's who made sure all this came to pass.

[[WMG: The Hyrulean Civil War resulted in multiple genocides.]]
Skyward Sword introduces the Kikwis, the Mogmas, and the Parellas, which, being a prequel, means these races must somehow cease to exist by the time of the later games. Of what little we know regarding the Hyrulean Civil War, there is mention of the Zoras and Gorons being enemies at the time. We know that Gorons and Mogmas both existed in the time of Skyward Sword, and presumably, had some overlap in territory. While the Zoras were not present, it seems more likely that they shared a habitat with the Parellas than that they evolved from them. So, it is possible that the war could have killed off most if not all of the Mogmas and Parellas. As for the Kikwi, there are multiple possibilities, none of which stand out as most likely. One is that they were magically transformed into the Kokiri[[note]]Although personally, this editor would rather believe that this was the fate of the Minish, due to the similarity between the words "Picori" and "Kokiri"[[/note]]. Another is that they died from either destruction of their habitat, or their own stupidity by having their entire species get stuck up in a tree. Lastly, it is possible they could simply have been [[HesJustHiding hiding]] this whole time, and just not have been relevant.
* "Must cease to exist"? No, it just means they aren't around. Hyrule has ''never'' equaled the whole world in any of the games.
* The evolution possibility is not so unlikely. Both the Zora and Kokiri were shown to be evolving races throughout the series already (differently from, say, the Goron, who never change). In the Parella/Zora case, it seems like a move from boneless solely aquatic beings to more humanoid and amphibious beings would be a step forward. In the Kikwi/Kokiri case, the Deku Tree's children were always more like spirits of the forest than an actual race, and the Kikwi being weird animal/plant hybrids seems to fit well with that (specially since the Korok are also like that).

[[WMG: Gratitude Crystals only appear to one who knows about them.]]
This is why they can't be gathered before the meeting with Batreaux, and why they aren't seen in any other games.
* So it's sort of like Tulpa theory?

[[WMG: Levias is somehow connected to Ordona]]
It's just as powerful as the three dragons and knows part of the Song of the Hero as they do, and like them is the guardian of a particular region, the sky, and specifically Skyloft. When the Triforce is taken from Skyloft and Demise is destroyed it makes sense Levias would no longer be needed to protect it, so he came to guard another part of Hyrule. Furthermore, Ordona Province is stated to not be a true part of Hyrule, and Levias is an outsider to the three dragons since it is a separate creature.

[[WMG: Just like Fi does, Ghirahim gives frequent tips and tutorials [[spoiler:to Demise]]]]
The only difference being, rather than robotically churning out statistics with everything like Fi, instead his tips, tutorials, and CaptainObvious moments are filled with innuendos (particularly when it comes to thrusting and stabbing) and vaguely {{Tsundere}} complaining whenever [[spoiler:Demise]] uses another weapon.
* There isn't really any evidence of this, but the mental image is absolutely hilarious.
* I wondered about the same thing once I found out what [[spoiler:Ghirahim]] is. I like to think that right before you beat him, [[spoiler:Demise's]] game pauses and he's informed that his hearts have depleted quite dramatically, and that he should replenish them at the earliest opportunity.

[[WMG: Fi has the same sort of powers as [[spoiler: Ghirahim]], she is simply forbidden to use them in the context of this game.]]
Since Hylia planned for Link to grow into a hero of surpassing power, wisdom, and courage, HelpingWouldBeKillStealing from Fi's perspective; even in bleak situations, she is restricted from physically aiding Link, instead giving him the information he needs to get the job done himself. * Sorta confirmed by VideoGame/HyruleWarriors.

[[WMG: The Goddess Crest is based on Fi.]]
[[http://www.zeldawiki.org/File:Fi_(artwork).png Compare]] and [[http://www.zeldawiki.org/File:GoddessCrest.png discuss.]]
* I think it's a mix of that and the Loftwing theory. Although I definitely see the similarity.
** I think it's more likely that both are true to a certain extent. So, the Goddess Crest may be based on a Loftwing (obvious when looking at the complete crest, as used by the Royal Family in later games) and Fi's cape itself (as well as the Master Sword's guard) might be based on a bird's wing.

[[WMG: In the final battle, Link doesn't actually kill [[spoiler:Demise]]]]
Rather, he just re-seals him. After all, how many times is the guy blown to smithereens over the course of the game? He can't actually die, only be sealed, until the Triforce is used to break that particular rule. Killing him hard enough to re-seal simply takes a bit more effort when he's restored to full power.

[[WMG: Levias is the Wind Fish from ''Link's Awakening''.]]

[[WMG: The Timeshift Stones will have some rather scary effects on undead enemies in future games.]]
Imagine Link has to go through some BigBoosHaunt dungeon that is filled with Stalfos and other skeletal monsters. Timeshift Stones can be found in certain rooms, and when activated, they cause the Stalfos to regain their flesh. This could have two possible results: ''a)'' hostile Stalfos revert back to non-hostile humans who are aghast at the undead monstrosities that they have become, or ''b)'' the Stalfos only regain some of their former flesh, turning into the even more dangerous Redeads. The former would make good material for a PlayerPunch, while the latter would lead to interesting possibilities for dungeon navigation strategies, in that the player would have to switch the Timeshift Stones on and off while accounting for the Stalfos turning into Redeads and vice versa.

[[WMG: Ghirahim is the reason Fi has no arms.]]
Fi may have had a [[spoiler:human]] form as Ghirahim does. It's not hard to imagine him utilizing [[spoiler:his sword form]] and chopping her arms off in that more fragile state, perhaps during the Dark Ages before the game takes place. Or it could have happened in a [[spoiler:[[DontExplainTheJoke swordfight.]]]]

[[WMG: Demise's curse was broken at the end of Wind Waker.]]
Daphnes' wish broke the curse. This is supported by the fact that Ganondorf has yet to reincarnate on that timeline.
* Yet, a new Demon King appeared about a century later... Demise's curse was never about Ganondorf, but about new Demon Kings in general.

[[WMG:Rupin is an ancestor of the Happy Mask Salesman.]]

Yup.

[[WMG: In the same vein, Dodoh is an ancestor of [[LegendofZeldaTwilightPrincess Falbi and Fyer.]]]]

[[WMG:Demise is a time-travelling Ganondorf.]]
I seem to remember that Fi's scan on Demise mentioned that he was a "Master of time" or something like that. A quick leap of logic, and here's my theory://
After countless defeats by Link, Ganondorf figures out to travel back in time. He travels back in time to before Link was around, becomes known as Demise, and promptly gets defeated by Link. Then, he gets unsealed by Girahim, killed by Link, and curses Link, therefore bringing himself into existence.

[[WMG:Ghirahim is a human spirit that didn't rest in peace.]]
Going with the idea that Ghirahim and Fi are basically counterparts with certain opposite aspects. Fi and Ghirahim were both originally soldiers in the Hylia VS [[spoiler:Demise]] War. That's when Fi lost her arms. When Fi died, Hylia resurrected her and gave her the task of aiding Link, and put her in the sword. [[spoiler:Demise,]] in response, did the same to Ghirahim, except his task is to resurrect [[spoiler:Demise]] if he should die. Fi finished her task of aiding the Hero and could rest in peace, and was [[spoiler:placed in the pedestal for her endless sleep.]] Ghirahim [[spoiler:"dies" too when Demise kills him to get his sword back]]. So, basically, Ghirahim and Fi both did their job, and both got to rest in peace. This would explain Ghirahim's creepy smile when [[spoiler:Demise killed him]]. It's because he's finally free.

[[WMG:The reason [[spoiler:Demise ends up being resurrected is because Link's wish was too selfish]]]]
So Link [[spoiler:makes a wish on the Triforce to destroy Demise. You know, that doesn't seem like a particularly noble thing to do. Think about it, when Link uses the Triforce in ALTTP, he uses it for honorable reasons, to bring the people killed back to life, to return everything to normal, that sort of thing. In SS, Link basically asks the Triforce to 'destroy my enemy', which doesn't seem like a good way to use the Triforce.]]

[[spoiler:So the gods can't rescind his wish, considering he got it honourably and all, so instead they make the wish not absolute -- Demise is defeated, but he still lives through the Gate of Time. Therefore, the wish is granted, but it is not absolute. My opinion is that the Triforce doesn't make the wishes absolute if they are done for a selfish purpose -- when Ganondorf used the Triforce in ALTTP, he got the Dark Realm, but he ended up getting stopped, didn't he? And Hylia and Fi didn't know about the rule because no one had ever used the Triforce before.]]

* Alternately, [[spoiler:Link's wish wasn't actually to destroy Demise, but to save Zelda, which Demise's destruction was merely a necessary step towards. It makes sense in a way; the Triforce responds to the deepest wish in someone's heart, and Link had never heard of Demise before his adventure started. To him, Demise was just a defeated enemy from a time that wasn't his, and aside from Zelda, he had no real personal quarrel with him. On the other hand, saving Zelda was his goal from the start. The Triforce reflected this by only destroying Demise in the present, when he was an immediate threat to Zelda, but not in the past, where he was quite safely sealed until Ghirahim intervened. Remember Fi's warning to Link that he should focus on destroying Demise before touching the Triforce? Sounds like she was trying to keep this from happening.]]

[[WMG:Fledge has Klinefelter's syndrome]]
My only rationale for this is that Fledge has huge hips combined with narrow shoulders in comparison. Sure, he's feminine, but his hips are massively large, to the point of being extremely feminine.

[[WMG: The Skyview and Earth Springs are the Wind and Earth Temples in Wind Waker]]

When I realised the [[spoiler:incomplete]] Master Sword looks like the depowered Master Sword in Wind Waker, this theory makes sense. In Wind Waker, the Earth and Wind Temples are where you power up the Master Sword. Why would they it be powered up there? If they were the springs in SS, that would make them sacred to Hylia, who is long forgotten in the time of Wind Waker. But then you realise [[spoiler:who powers up the Master Sword in SS? Hylia herself. Of course you would get the True Master Sword in a place sacred to Hylia, just like it was in SS]].

[[WMG: Ghirahim is responsible for/creates Dark Link]]

How could a magical shadow possibly survive the evil-repelling might of the [[SwordOfPlotAdvancement Master Sword]]? Well, what if Dark Link doesn't just have a CoolSword of his own, but is really just the created ''puppet'' of that dread blade...

[[WMG: The Fates of the Three Dragons.]]

The three dragons, Eldin, Faron, and Lanayru have very different personalities, and live in different locations. First, we have Faron, self-centered, thinking much more highly of herself than anyone else, and also probably not as smart as she thinks she is (nice job killing all the monsters in the woods there, Faron, oh wait), Lanayru, who seems to have a jovial nature, playing games with Link even as [[spoiler:Demise is about to rise again]], as well as having, or at least letting, the robots overmine Lanayru and turn it into a desert wasteland, and Eldin, reclusive and serious.

* Of the three, it's not entirely impossible to see Lanayru dying off. Lanayru desert probably eventually becomes the Gerudo Desert of Ocarina of Time. Lanayru, the most carefree and, yes, careless of the three might have been killed (we know they can die as we think of it, even if they technically keep some [[AndIMustScream consciousness]]) as the hostile Gerudo population moved into the region, or perhaps even from carelessness (he'd already be dead if it weren't for Link's time-traveling shenanigans).
** Furthermore, in ''[=OoT=]'', weren't there giant skeletal remains near the Spirit Temple? Or am I horribly misremembering?
*** No, but in ''Twilight Princess'', there is the huge fossilized form of Stallord encountered in the Arbiter's Grounds. It's long been a fan-suggestion that Stallord could be Volvagia's remains; Lanayru works even better.

* Faron also sustained serious injuries, and Link saved her. While the woods are typically a more livable area in ''Zelda'' games than the desert, Faron could have been done in either by her own self-importance, or even displeased the goddesses when she forced Link to take her own test, after he had passed the others. Her reckless behavior could have also led to the goddesses replacing her with better guardians, such as the Deku Tree or Jabu-Jabu/Jabun. Another possibility, however, is that Faron eventually begat the original Zoras. The Parellas treat her like a queen, and Zoras typically have a monarchical government. Her scale grants the ability to swim, something only seen from Zoras up until now. In addition to this, take a look at the [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgCIaC0wlls "Tadtones,"] compared to some [http://zelda.wikia.com/wiki/File:Hatched_Zora_Eggs.png newly hatched Zoras] from Majora's Mask. Of course, if her descendants are Zoras, or she helped the Parellas evolve into the Zoras, that still doesn't explain where she is.
** Maybe she took over from Lanayru when he kicked it (or was sacked for incompetence), bringing back water and explaining why Lanayru province isn't entirely desert in later games.

* Finally, we have Eldin. He's the only one of the three dragons in the game which we never have to save from mortal danger, and who actually proves he can handle himself. He lives in a volcano which probably becomes Death Mountain, and unlike Lanayru Desert, the only indigenous population we ever see in volcanic areas are either beasts who he could handle himself against, or the Gorons, who are, well... The Gorons. He's very reclusive, which could have led to him surviving longer, as almost nothing ventures into Death Mountain to kill him. We see two other dragons who live in volcanos in the Zelda series, Volvalgia and Valoo. Now, Volvagia I don't really have a good explanation for, except that he could have been one of Eldin's children who turned evil for... Some reason? And then we have Valoo. Valoo is implied to be very old (he speaks old Hylian), and he has a similar fit of rage causing volcanic activity on the island to Eldin's during Skyward Sword. There exists a serious possibility that Eldin was living inside the same volcano for several thousand years.
** The original Volvagia may not have been as evil as Ganon's resurrection of him. All we know is that he ate Gorons, and that may have been in defense of the volcano. We've seen Faron get quite angry at invaders, and nobody's seen the Mogmas ever since ''Skyward Sword''...

[[WMG: Demise Reincarnated as Ganondorf so he could use the Triforce]]

Only mortals can wield the Triforce; that is why Hylia had to reincarnate as Zelda in order to use it. Demise wanted to use the sacred power for himself, but chances are he couldn't use it because he is also a god. This left him at a huge disadvantage in ''Skyward Sword''. As Ganondorf, Demise could use the Triforce just as well as Zelda and Link can.

[[WMG: Where the Mogmas are in later games]]

Those various holes that are found randomly throughout Hyrule are the result of Mogmas. With the exception of a few holes that were clearly intentionally made, they all lead to a small room, maybe with a few enemies, and a treasure. Those treasures are actually the treaure whatever Mogma made the hole found. Link just coincidentally happens to enter these holes when the Mogma is somewhere else. So all those treasures found in random holes are technically stolen.

[[WMG: The unnamed planet that this and most ''Zelda'' games take place on is actually Earth.]]

In the distant past, humanity was at its peak as evidenced by the remains of advanced technology in the Lanayru Desert. Creatures such as Mogmas, Gorons, etc... were either created through experimentation and/or mutations or could possibly even be aliens. Some humans also mutated to grow more elven-like features, becoming the Hylians we know.

Something horrifying happened, however, freeing Demise and other demons to wipe out nearly all life on Earth. The past version of Zelda sacrificed herself to save what was left of humanity by raising Skyloft, and sealing the demons away. The other creatures remained on Earth for thousands of years, and nearly all knowledge of the past was lost.

If Link had been able to time-shift other places aside from an automated mining facility, he'd have likely seen large cities inhabited by many people and technological wonders far beyond anything ever seen. Too bad Demise [[Film/PlanetOfTheApes1968 blew it all up]].

* Building on this, it is possible that the ''Zelda'' universe developed from the aftermath of one of the ''Franchise/ShinMegamiTensei'' games. That series frequently involves demons invading either the modern day or some future CyberPunk setting, and it's possible that Demise became their leader. The reason the ''Zelda'' universe has so many nonstandard fantasy creatures instead of the FantasyKitchenSink of real life myths like ''Shin Megami Tensei'' is that all the demon fusions eventually led to them taking on entirely new forms. Heck, this all sounds very vaguely like the set-up for ''VideoGame/ShinMegamiTenseiIV'' in particular, where a MedievalEuropeanFantasy realm supplants the old high-tech place. Maybe Tokyo is under the ground somewhere beyond Hyrule's borders?

[[WMG: Groose is reincarnated as Mido]]

Both harbor a grudge against Link, are implied to have a crush on his childhood friend, and eventually come to respect Link.

[[WMG: Zelda is a sociopath]]

Let's look at the evidence:

* She pushes Link from possibly lethal heights twice in the beginning of the game, and it's implied that this is a normal occurrence.
** In her defense, they have the Loftwings at their beck-and-call, and the point of Link meeting Zelda that morning was to go for a flight together.
* When she rescues Link the first time, she's more concerned about her Loftwing than her childhood friend that she almost ''killed''.
* Aside from Link, Groose, and her father, almost no one ever really brings up the fact that she's missing; almost as if they're trying to forget about her.
* Almost straight after worrying about the strain of carrying two people on her Loftwing, she suddenly jumps on-top of Link's with no regard for the bird.
* She manipulated Link, who I must reiterate, is her childhood friend that she may or may not be in love with. If it was just this, then it might be forgivable given the circumstances, but when you factor in the first two points, it's just establishing a pattern of behavior.
** To be fair, that wasn't Zelda doing that. [[spoiler:It was Hylia.]]

[[WMG: Related to the above, Link is a creepy sociopath.]]
He sleeps in everyone's beds without permission, even when they're standing right there looking at him! This potentially includes a lover he JUST spurned ([[spoiler:Peatrice]]). He also looks through people's closets whenever he wants and destroys people pottery and kitchenware. And no, it is not socially acceptable to break pottery in the Zelda universe because Rupin's mother charges him for it. The rest of the [=NPCs=] are just too afraid of him to call him on it when he breaks their stuff.

[[WMG: Link is the [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaMajorasMask Fierce Deity]]]]
Both the Fierce Deity Mask and the Link from this game have the ability to shoot disks of light from their swords, and the mask makes you look like Adult Link when you wear it, so...

[[WMG: Scervo's full model number]]
Is Termina Hydraulics, #0 Marine-class: Scervo, or [[IncrediblyLamePun T-0M]] [[Series/MysteryScienceTheater3000 Scervo]] for short. And in the same vein, he once had a robot bird, but instead of a parrot, it was a crow.

[[WMG: Time Shift stones and the mass desolation of the Lanayru Desert.]]
Everything in Lanayru appears to have gone south all at once and the Time Shift stones seem to rewind time to just before this happened.\\
Proof being that the robots are in the exact same positions... just damaged by time. But wait. You can also find bones of Bokoblins. When they die, they poof into darkness, they don't leave behind bones.

So here's my proposal. Time Shift stones don't turn back the clock. They restore life energy, but they also take it away. An active Time Shift pours out lots of energy, but an inactive one absorbs it until it reaches capacity. All the desolation we see in Lanayru is basically a result of draining the life energy out of an environment by using it for stuff it wasn't intended (like powering boats). The Stones are meant to take as much power as they give out and can keep life forms and other stuff from the effects of time as long as that energy remains balanced. Using the energy to power other shit took that energy out of the equation. The robots realized this, but tried to balance the equation by digging up more Stones, which only contributed to the problem. Eventually, all the energy ran out all at once. The problem was that the robots and Bokoblins spent years and years in suspended time, which caused all their life energy to get absorbed by the system at once.

Now the Stones you run into have sucked all the energy from the stuff within the radius and eventually reachieved balance of energy. Link is unaffected by the stones because all the inactive ones he bumps into are already fully charged and activating them just causes them to pull the energy they put out back in. On top of that, Link only ever spends a little while in the suspended time fields anyway, so what energy does get absorbed from him is negligible anyway and can easily be regained by sleeping outside the field.

Sad part is that eventually Captain and his crew will run down the ship's Stone again and it will deactivate.

[[WMG: Remlit Theory]]
The Remlits cease to attack you at night [[spoiler:after you complete the Batreaux sidequest]] because they were merely doing so out of self-preservation all along. With the [[spoiler:monsters gone from Skyloft for good]], they no longer need to defend themselves and can resume their naturally docile manner.

* It seemed to me that they were less trying to protect themselves as being driven crazy [[spoiler:by Batreaux's presence]].

[[WMG: Ghirahim is in love with Link.]]
No, seriously, hear me out. G meets up with Link plenty of times throughout the game, but never once actually carries out his threats to harm and/or kill him (except towards the end of the game, obviously). At one point in the game, he says he has been "soft"; if not love, then it is some form of a crush or lust that is keeping him from [[WhyDontYouJustShootHim just killing the hero and getting the job done]].

There's also the thread Ghirahim says that binds him and Link together, the one he'll stain red with the hero's blood. In the Japanese version, he explicitly mentions the RedStringOfFate, an Asian proverb that means two people who meet constantly are bound by a red string, and are meant to be together. Not to mention [[NoSenseOfPersonalSpace getting close enough to Link to make him uncomfortable]], ''on their first meeting''. Even better, during the second fight, if he hits you he'll take the time to lick your blood off his sword; either the fight excites him that much, or he ''really'' wants a taste of the hero, if you know what I mean.

Basically, Ghirahim's love for Link makes him frustrated, which is why he gets so ANGRY throughout the game almost every time they meet. He's conflicted, torn between carrying out his orders from Demise, and these newfound emotions for the hero. It's what drives him over the edge, makes him go crazier than he already is. I think the death of Demise, and Link and Zelda's reunion that made him snap. He goes {{Yandere}} and decides to just [[MurderTheHypotenuse kill Zelda]], and when Link comes to rescue her, decides he'll [[IfICantHaveYou kill the hero too]]. Oh, and bring back his master, Demise, too. Too much of Ghirahim's actions don't make sense, he's a blood-lusting maniac who loves killing, but he never just stabs Link in the gut and get it over with. The only possible thing that could hold him back so much would be love.

[[WMG:Ganondorf isn't the only being who was created by [[spoiler:Demise's death.]]]]
Note the complete absence of a certain species of bird that has been at odds with almost every other Link in the era of ''Skyward Sword''.

[[WMG:Hylia is the [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaMajorasMask Goddess of Time]]]]
Hylia made the Time Gates. Even as [[spoiler:Zelda]], she still has some aspects of time, given her ability to [[spoiler:use the Ocarina of Time to send Link back to the Child Timeline]]. Even the Seventh Sage's FanNickname "Sage of Time" lends itself to this. The Goddess of Time has roots going back all the way to Hyrule's formation, but in [=OoT=]'s time her name has sadly been forgotten by all save maybe the Royal Family, who still carries her bloodline.

[[WMG:Evil Crystals are an EvilCounterpart to Gratitude Crystals]]

And if a human gathers enough of them, they can turn into a demon! Good thing they're such a rare treasure, eh?

[[WMG:The items earned through the Silent Realms were gifts offered to the Goddesses]]

* Water Dragon's Scale: Self-explanatory. From Faron to Farore, with love.
* Clawshots: Given to Nayru by either Lanayru or his closest robot servants. This means, indeed, that like the Beetle and the Gust Bellows, the Clawshots are Lanayru technology.
* Fireshield Earrings: A gift to Din by either Eldin, an ancestor of the Mogma Chief, or the Gorons.
* Stone of Trials: From a citizen of Skyloft to Hylia.

[[WMG: [[spoiler:Demise's Hate did not reincarnate into Ganondorf immediately.]]]]

Ganondorf started out as a Gerudo King who did underhanded and downright vicious things for the sake of his people. It was not until Link pulled the Master Sword, [[spoiler:which Demise was sealed inside]], that Ganondorf became truly and wholly evil because [[spoiler:Demise's hate was unleashed upon the person attempting to claim the Triforce when the Master Sword was pulled out]]. Ganondorf was then driven insane by [[spoiler:Demise's hate]] and did not regain his sanity until after he was defeated at the end of ''Ocarina of Time''. This can also be why Ganondorf does not come back as a human in the ''[=ALttP=]'' timeline, being warped by [[spoiler:Demise's hate]].

[[WMG:The two Gates of Time operate on different time travel mechanics]]

At the start of the game, you may notice that Impa is wearing the bracelet from the end of the game, and that Zelda's crystal is visible through the doors at the back of the temple, which means that the outcome of Zelda's actions has already been determined, even before Link begins his quest. If you look to the left, you see that there's a small hole where you later plant the fruit for Lanaryu. The tree isn't there until you go back in time and plant it through the gate in the temple. When you come back, Groose acts like the tree has always been there, meaning that the outcome is not determined. This actually makes sense if you consider that Zelda used a Gate of Time that wasn't sleeping, whereas Link had to use the Master Sword to wake up the Gate in the forest, hence the reason that they function differently. This also works in the ending, where Link places the Master Sword in the temple, but it isn't there in the present until the final cutscene, after Link has already placed it in the past. This is also true of Ghirahim's actions in the past: it's clear that they don't take place until after Link has obtained the Triforce, and Ghirahim uses that gate in the forest, just like Link and Groose do.
* Or they operate the same, it's just that Link hasn't received Time Traveler's Immunity until doing some time traveling himself. To explain: The effects of Zelda's time travel are present right from the start, because from Link's perspective, that's the only reality he's ever experienced. It's not until he begins time traveling himself that he remembers different versions of events (the tree being there/the tree not being there), meaning he is immune to the shift in events caused by his own actions. He remembers what things were like before his own time traveling actions.
** That doesn't add up, though. Unless Groose has Time Traveler's Immunity from the start of the game, he wouldn't see the tree in the Sealed Temple until the end of the game when he shows up to help Link in the past.

[[WMG:Elaborating on the "all this is a dream" stuff]]
In the Additional WMG page, some tropper said that the saga it's AllJustADream by Link, who is a nerdy guy who goes to High School/College. Let's see how much can we expand this idea (I wrote this here because I'm only going to do it about SS):
* Link is a young boy who goes to the Skyloft Academy. His parents died when he was a kid, so he lives in one of the Academy's residences. He dosn't speak much, but is a good and responsable boy who cares about his friends.
* Zelda is Link's best friend, and the daughter of the academy director. She loves to play music and has a lyre that her mother gave to her before dying.
* Groose is the quaterback of the football team, and has a crush on Zelda (just like Link does). At first, he bullies Link because he's the only one who can be with Zelda, but in the end, he becomes friends with him.
* Ghirahim is an emo/goth student, who tries to flirt with Zelda. At first, she refuses to date him, but as time passes, he begins to manipulate her, convincing her that he is better than Link for her. But, actually, he works for...
** His father. Few pople know his name, but they usually call him Demise. He is the leader of a gang of criminals/murderers/contrabandists/whatever. He wants his son to approach Zelda, so he can capture her and kill or possibly rape her, all because he wants revenge on...
* Zelda's mother, Hylia. She was a policewoman who got Demise captured and arrested. However, a murderer that worked with Demise shot her as a revenge for imprisoning his leader. But now, 15 years later, Demise has escaped from jail, and Hylia's death isn't enough to satisfy him, no -- he wants to make Hylia's loved ones suffer as a payment for his time in jail.
* Fi is a new student at the academy, a few years younger than Link. She has a mental disorder, such as Asperger's sydrome or autism, that makes her cold and emotionless, in exchange for incredible intelligence and calculation skills. She befriends Link, and help him to stop Ghirahim and Demise.
** Someone needs to make a fanfic of this.

[[WMG: Ghirahim is distantly related to [[VideoGame/XenoSaga Albedo]].]]

I mean, come on, they're practically the same character! Recurring boss, complete psycho who works for the main villain, but is much more eye-catching ''than'' the main villain, to the point that he kind of steals the role (in the first two episodes, in Albedo's case), white hair and clothing while also being ''very much'' LightIsNotGood, similar personalities, alternates between wanting to kill the main characters and [[MemeticMolester trying to molest them]].... need I go on?

[[WMG: Bucha is the Great Deku Tree.]]

I'm not joking. Look at Bucha's face; all droopy, with a massive mustache, and he's a tree-person. He gives you the slingshot, which also just so happens to be the second useful thing you find in the Great Deku Tree in ''Ocarina of Time''. I theorize that, as he grew older and older (and lazier), he eventually rooted into the ground and grew into a full-blown tree, but remained the chieftain of the Kikwi, who later changed into the Kokiri. Clearly, after Link died, he has one of the Kikwi/Kokiri steal back the slingshot, threw it into a chest, and swallowed it. Machi later becomes Mido, and hates ''Time''-Link because he reminds him so much of his old friend, ''Sky''-Link.

[[WMG: Demise and his demons are from [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaALinkBetweenWorlds Lorule]].]]
His sword, [[spoiler:Ghirahim]], has the same down-pointing Triforce symbol on its blade. He was said to come from a crack in the earth, similar to the cracks used to travel between Hyrule and Lorule. And where Hyrule has "normal" enemies like castle soldiers, Lorule has monsterous creatures that had previously only appeared in the [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaALinkToThePast Dark Realm]]. This also explains why he decided to attack Hyrule: [[spoiler:Demise wanted the Triforce so that he could conquer the world, but Lorule had destroyed their Triforce to prevent it being misused]].

[[WMG:Ghirahim was Hylia's [[spoiler:creation]]]]
Specifically, he was meant to be TheSacredDarkness to [[spoiler:Fi]]'s LightIsGood. We see examples of DarkIsNotEvil in the Zelda universe with the Sheikah, the protectors of Hyrule's royal family. So Ghirahim's [[spoiler:sword form]] was forged and he became Hylia's lieutenant and [[BodyguardingABadass bodyguard]]. Long story short, pride and the Demon King corrupted Ghirahim, and he switched sides in hopes of being more than Hylia's "valet". He still remembers all this, but is certain that he made the better decision.

[[WMG:Peatrice is the ancestor of the girl chasing a chicken in Hyrule Market from ''Ocarina of Time'']]
It's all in the dance moves. Once when Link visits the Item Check, Peatrice gets up and does a happy dance -- which looks just like the dance the little girl in Hyrule Market does in ''Ocarina of Time'' when Link puts on a mask.

[[WMG:Demise's curse has no actual power and didn't do anything.]]
Because it's the worst {{Handwave}} ever and severely limits future stories. I posit that even a demon king doesn't have the power to create such an abstract curse that transcends divine intervention and the fabric of spacetime; every villain in the franchise is their own person who rose to power through coincidence and their own merits, not BecauseDestinySaysSo. Alternatively, the curse was real, but Link wished it away with the Triforce sometime after the credits.

[[WMG:Groose + Demise's Curse = Ganondorf/Ganon]]
Back nearly 2 years ago in the Fridge section, a fridge theory was posted that Groose was affected by the curse and Demise's spirit attached onto his to create the cycle of reincarnated evil that faces Zelda and Link. Now this is backed up by the factors that:
* A. Groose seems to be the progenitor of what would become the Gerudo in terms of features.
* B. It appears that Impa may have been affected, as she also is noticeably reincarnated throughout the series as someone who has ties to directly protecting/caring for Zelda, but she wasn't directly cursed by Demise, meaning the effect may have accidentally exceeded what he intended.
* C. So far, this is the first and last time we've seen a character that looks, acts, and is named like Groose.
* D. Tying into A. it's not specified why, but it's said one male is born to the Geurdo every 100 years. Implying a magic of sorts. Now this process is never elaborated on, but it's never spoken of if there was another male after Ganondorf that was born in any of the diverging timelines where Gerudos have appeared.

[[WMG:Gratitude Crystals Are Star Bits]]
They look exactly the same and have magical properties. In fact, Batreaux may be a form of hungry Luma.

[[WMG:Batreaux Fought In The Demon War]]
He is described as a demon by Fi and himself, which implies that he originated from the same world as Demise. In the introduction, one of the demons with Demise is depicted having two horns, like Batreux. He may have been a high-ranking demon that stowed away on Skyloft in order to escape the sealing, but was more of an AntiVillain compared to the rest of the demons, so Hylia turned a blind eye to him.

[[WMG: Demise and his demons surfaced originally from Death Mountain]]
The ancient story regarding the battle that saw Skyloft get lifted states that all was fine in the surface world until a great crack in the Earth opened up and monsters came forth. Although there appear to be many deep voids in Hyrule, most of them all lead to rivers. However, Death Mountain's black chasms are still open to interpretation, and would explain why Ganon reigns from there in earlier games: A sensed connection with it.

Think about it. Compared to the TP map, which is basically an updated, more realistic version of [=OoT=]'s map, Lanayru Desert looks exactly like what would be Hyrule Field.

Of course, the sand sea and a small part of the desert likely stays the same — thus creating Gerudo Desert and the Haunted Wasteland. I suppose the Temple of Time could become Hyrule Castle Town and Hyrule Castle, with the Master Sword being relocated there for the events of [=OoT=]. Since Demise's essence is sealed inside the blade, that probably explains why it has time-traveling abilities... he, according to Fi, "conquered time itself..."

And the Sealed Grounds are the actual Temple of Time, seen as the Forest Temple in [=OoT=], and the Temple of Time in TP.
* Except the fact that, as Hyrule Historia explicitly states, the Sealed Grounds is the Temple of Time, heavily suggests the Master Sword never moved. At the least, that josses the theory that the Forest Temple in [=OoT=] is the Sealed Temple in SS. If anything, Hyrule Castle town was originally located where the Faron Woods would logically be located in [=OoT=], considering the Master Sword's location. And that's not even getting into where the Master Sword is found in TP.

Based off of this, I figure his Ganon form is [[spoiler:Demise]] taking a more direct role in the conflict, and the fact that he is permanently in this form in pre-OOT games (which occur later in the timeline) can be attributed to [[spoiler:Demise]] deciding to do away with Ganondorf's human form so that he can directly act.

With Wind Waker, the two might have been separated; in the opening, we see the events that led to the flooding of Hyrule, but the figure we see terrorizing Hyrule is rather demonic-looking, whereas in-game Ganondorf is far more human than his other appearances and I believe this is the only game he does not have a beast-like form. This would serve to explain Ganondorf's rather sympathetic characterization; not knowing he was possessed, he would have tried to justify his actions to himself, claiming he wanted to help his people escape the harsh desert, despite his actions in [=OoT=] not suggesting this (as the Gerudo never actually leave the desert, despite Ganondorf ruling Hyrule.

If someone whose heart is not in perfect balance gets the Triforce, they only get one piece and the other two find their destined bearers. Ganondorf was not chosen by the Gods to get the Triforce of Power; he just stole it, and then the other two pieces sought out Link and Zelda. Think about it. It's a realm where the Triforce is kept. The Guardians are there to protect the Triforce. The entrance gate protects any who enter as giving them a last chance to escape. The Tears of the Goddesses are needed to gain access to special treasures, but since the Goddess's chosen hero needs to enter the Silent Realm, they are given the bonus effect of pausing the the Guardian security system. The reason the security system is turned back on after 90 seconds is just in case the tear was picked up by anyone who entered the Silent Realm other than the Goddess's chosen hero. That's also why the Guardians confiscate the tears when they stop you, so they'll be there for the Goddess's chosen hero. The Watchers and the Waking Water are backup systems to turn on the Guardians should an intruder be able to collect the tears. This also explains why in Ocarina of Time, behind the door of time in the Temple of Time, it looks like an ordinary chamber, but in truth, it is the Silent/Sacred Realm, since the Silent Realm looks exactly like the surroundings of the area you enter into the Silent Realm from.

The reason it stayed together under his use is the same reason that it split when Ganondorf used it - the Triforce can only stay together while being used if the user is pure of heart.

And based on the overall design of Demise's sword, I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest that the two are related somehow.
So here's my theory. Hylia forged a number of powerful magical swords to use in the war against Demise. During the war, Demise seized one and corrupted it, forming the Dark Master Sword [[spoiler:and Ghirahim, who served as one of his lieutenants]]. Hylia was forced to seal them all away, but she knew it wouldn't last, so she created Fi (perhaps she was inspired by [[spoiler:Ghirahim]]) and went on with her {{plan}} for when Demise escaped.

However, what happened to the Imprisoned, who died onscreen as The Sky Keep smushed him flat and sealed up the Sealed Grounds for good?
** Just one thing, given that the game is a timeloop, then how can the [[spoiler:Master Sword be both hidden in the Temple AND enshrined in the Statue of the Goddess in its Goddess Sword form]]?
** [[spoiler:The Master Sword wasn't sealed away until after Demise was destroyed in the past, but the Gate of Time (and Zelda) are still in the present-day Sealed Temple. Demise's consciousness dies in the past, but his body remembers how it regained its true form... so it attempts to storm the Sealed Temple in order to consume Zelda's soul (again).]]
** But if [[spoiler:Demise was defeated in the past]], why does The Imprisoned exist in the present? Unless [[spoiler:The Imprisoned was the very first incarnation of Demise's hatred or residual power or [[FridgeBrilliance OH]] okay.]]

[[WMG:The timeline split again, and in one of the timelines, Hyrule becomes the Sacred Realm mentioned in the rest of the games.]]

It follows that this Hyrule becomes a golden land blessed by the presence of the whole Triforce completely controlled by the forces of good.

[[WMG: Just like Fi does, Ghirahim gives frequent tips and tutorials[[spoiler: to Demise]]]]
The only difference being, rather than robotically churning out statistics with everything like Fi, instead his tips, tutorials, and CaptainObvious moments are filled with innuendos (particularly when it comes to thrusting and stabbing) and vaguely {{Tsundere}} complaining whenever [[spoiler: Demise]] uses another weapon.
* There isn't really any evidence of this, but the mental image is absolutely hilarious.
* I wondered about the same thing once I found out what [[spoiler: Ghirahim]] is. I like to think that right before you beat him, [[spoiler: Demise's]] game pauses and he's informed that his hearts have depleted quite dramatically, and that he should replenish them at the earliest opportunity.

[[spoiler: In keeping with Ghirahim being an evil opposite to Fi in all things, Fi's unrestricted form would be an extremely fast, graceful combination of KickChick and DanceBattler, using only her feet as weapons where Ghirahim just used his hands.]]
* Sorta confirmed by VideoGame/HyruleWarriors.

[[WMG: Fi [[spoiler:secretly eggs on your companions in every game with the Master Sword]].]]
* [[spoiler:She's not THAT dormant, and]] it certainly explains Navi...

[[WMG: The 'Unidentified Beta Enemy' from [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess Twilight Princess]] was recycled as The Imprisoned.]]
[[http://www.zeldawiki.org/File:Beta_TP_Monster.png Take a look]]. That face is hard to mistake.

[[WMG: Levias is the Wind Fish from Link's Awakening.]]

Or it could have happened in a [[spoiler: [[DontExplainTheJoke swordfight.]]]]

A quick leap of logic, and here's my theory:

Fi finished her task of aiding the Hero and could rest in peace, and was [[spoiler:placed in the pedestal for her endless sleep.]] Ghirahim [[spoiler:"dies" too when Demise kills him to get his sword back.]] So basically Ghirahim and Fi both did their job, and both got to rest in peace. This would explain Ghirahim's creepy smile when [[spoiler:Demise killed him.]] It's because he's finally free.

[[spoiler:So the gods can't rescind his wish, considering he got it honourably and all, so instead they make the wish not absolute - Demise is defeated, but he still lives through the Gate of Time. Therefore, the wish is granted, but it is not absolute. My opinion is that the Triforce doesn't make the wishes absolute if they are done for a selfish purpose - when Ganondorf used the Triforce in ALTTP, he got the Dark Realm, but he ended up getting stopped, didn't he? And Hylia and Fi didn't know about the rule because no one had ever used the Triforce before]]

* Alternately, [[spoiler: Link's wish wasn't actually to destroy Demise, but to save Zelda, which Demise's destruction was merely a necessary step towards.

First, we have Faron, self-centered, thinking much more highly of herself than anyone else, and also probably not as smart as she thinks she is (nice job killing all the monsters in the woods there, Faron, oh wait), Lanayru, who seems to have a jovial nature, playing games with Link even as [[spoiler: Demise is about to rise again]], as well as having, or at least letting, the robots over mine Lanayru and turn it into a desert wasteland, and Eldin, reclusive, and serious.

* Of the three, it's not entirely impossible to see Lanayru dying off. Lanayru desert probably eventually becomes the Gerudo Desert of Ocarina of Time. Lanayru, the most carefree and, yes, careless of the three might have been killed (we know they can die as we think of it, even if they technically keep some [[AndIMustScream consciousness]]) as the hostile Gerudo population moved into the region, or perhaps even from carelessness (he'd already be dead if it weren't for Link's time traveling shenanigans.
** Furthermore, in OoT weren't there giant skeletal remains near the Spirit Temple? Or am I horribly misremembering?
*** No, but in Twilight Princess there is the huge fossilized form of Stallord encountered in the Arbiter's Grounds. It's long been a fan-suggestion that Stallord could be Volvagia's remains; Lanayru works even better.

* Faron also sustained serious injuries, and Link saved her. While the woods are typically a more livable area in Zelda games than the desert, Faron could have been done in either by her own self-importance, or even displeased the goddesses when she forced Link to take her own test, after he had passed the others. Her reckless behavior could have also led to the goddesses replacing her with better guardians, such as the Deku Tree, or Jabu-Jabu/Jabun.
** Maybe she took over from Lanayru when he kicked it(or was sacked for incompetence), bringing back water and explaining why Lanayru province isn't entirely desert in later games.

We see two other dragon who live in volcanos in the Zelda series, Volvalgia, and Valoo. Now Volvagia I don't really have a good explanation for, except that he could have been one of Eldin's children who turned evil for...
We've seen Faron get quite angry at invaders, and nobody's seen the Mogmas ever since Skyward Sword...

[[WMG: Demise Reincarnated as Ganondorf so He Could Use the Triforce]]

Only mortals can wield the Triforce, that is why Hylia had to reincarnate as Zelda in order to use it. Demise wanted to use the sacred power for himself, but chances are he couldn't use it because he is also a god. This left him in a huge disadvantage in Skyward Sword.

[[WMG: The unnamed planet that this and most Zelda games take place on is actually Earth.]]

* When she rescues Link the first time, she's more concerned about her Loftwing then her childhood friend that she almost ''killed''.
* Aside from Link, Groose, and her father, almost no one ever really brings up the fact that she's missing; almost as if they're trying to forget about her.
* Almost straight after worrying about the strain of carrying two people on her Loftwing she suddenly jumps on-top of Link's with no regard for the bird.
* She manipulated Link, who I must reiterate, is her childhood friend that she may or may not be in love with. If it was just this, then it might be forgivable given the circumstances, but when you factor in the first two points it's just establishing a pattern of behavior.

Both the First deity mask and the Link from this game have the ability to shoot disks of light from their swords, and the mask makes you look like adult link when you wear it, so...

Everything in Lanayru appears to have gone south all at once and the Time Shift stones seem to rewind time to just before this happened.
Proof being that the robots are in the exact same positions... just damaged by time. But wait. You can also find bones of Bokoblins. When they die they poof into darkness, they don't leave behind bones.

So here's my proposal. Time Shift stones don't turn back the clock. They restore life energy, but they also take it away. An active Time Shift pores out lots of energy, but an inactive one absorbs it until it reaches capacity. All the desolation we see in Lanayru is basically a result of draining the life energy out of an environment by using it for stuff it wasn't intended (like powering boats). The Stones are mean to take as much power as they give out and can keep life forms and other stuff from the effects of time as long as that energy remains balanced. Using the energy to power other shit took that energy out of the equation. The robots realized this but tried to balance the equation by digging up more Stones, but that only contributed to the problem. Until all the energy ran out all at once. The problem was that the robots and Bokoblins spent years and years in suspended time which caused all their life energy to get absorbed by the system at once.

Now the Stones you run into have sucked all the energy from the stuff within the radius and eventually reachieved balance of energy. Link is unaffected by the stones because all the inactive ones he bumps into are already fully charged and activating them just causes them to pull the energy they put out back in. On top of that Link only ever spends a little while in the suspended time fields anyway, so what energy does get absorbed from him is negligible anyway and can easily be regained by sleeping outside the field.

Even as [[spoiler: Zelda]] she still has some aspects of time given her ability to [[spoiler: use the Ocarina of Time to send Link back to the Child Timeline]]. Even the Seventh Sage's FanNickname "Sage of Time" lends itself to this. The Goddess of Time has roots going back all the way to Hyrule's formation, but in OoT's time her name has sadly been forgotten by all save maybe the Royal Family, who still carries her bloodline.

* Water Dragon's Scale: Self-explanatory. From Faron to Farore, with love.
* Clawshots: Given to Nayru by either Lanayru of his closest robot servants.

[[WMG: [[spoiler:Demise's Hate did not reincarnate into Ganondorf immediately]]]]

Ganondorf started out as a Gerudo King who did underhanded and downright vicious things in order for the sake of his people. It was not until Link pulled the Master Sword, [[spoiler:which Demise was sealed inside,]] that Ganondorf became truly and wholly evil because [[spoiler:Demise's hate was unleashed upon the person attempting to claim the Triforce when the Master Sword was pulled out]]. Ganondorf was then driven insane by [[spoiler: Demise's hate]] and did not regain his sanity until after he was defeated at the end of Ocarina of Time. This can also be why Ganondorf does not come back as a human in the ALttP timeline, being warped by [[spoiler:Demise's hate]].

Let's see how much can we expantd this idea (I wrote this here because I'm only going to do it about SS):
* Link is a young boy who goes to the Skyloft Academy. His parents died when he was a kid, so he lives in one of the Academy's residences. He dosn't speak much, but is a good and responsable boy who cares about his friends.
* Zelda is Link's best friend, and the daughter of the academy director. She loves to play music and has a lyre that her mother gave to here before dying.
* Groose is the quaterback of the football team, and has a crush on Zelda (just like Link does). At first, he bullies because he's the only one who can be with Zelda, but in the end he becomes friends with him.
* Ghirahim is an emo/goth student, who tries to flirt with Zelda. At first she refuses to date him, but as time passes, he begins to manipulate her, convincing her that he is better than Link for her. But, actually, he works for...
* His father. Few pople knows his name, but they usually call him Demise. He is the leader of a bang of criminals/murderers/contrabandists/whatever. He wants his son to aproach Zelda, so he can capture her and kill or posibly rape her, all of that because he wants revenge from...
* Zelda's mother, Hylia. She was a policewoman who got Demise captured and arrested. However, a murderer that worked with Demise shooted her as a revenge for imprisioning his leader. But now, 15 years later, Demise has escaped from jail, and Hylia's death isn't enough to satisfy him, no -he wants to make Hylia's loved ones suffer as a payiment for his time on jail.
* Fi is a new student at the academy, a few years younger than link. She has a mental disorder, such as Asperger sydrome or autism, that makes her cold and emotionless, in exchange for incredible inteligence and calculation skills. She befriends Link, and help him to stop Ghirahim and Demise.
** Someone needs to make a fanfic of this.

[[WMG: Ghirahim is distantly related to [[VideoGame/XenoSaga Albedo]].]]

I mean, come on, they're practically the same character! Recurring boss, complete psycho who works for the main villain, but is much more eye-catching ''than'' the main villain, to the point that he kind of steals the role (in the first two episodes, in Albedo's case,) white hair and clothing while also being ''very much'' LightIsNotGood, similar personalities, alternates between wanting to kill the main characters and trying to molest them.... need I go on?

[[WMG: Bucha is the Great Deku Tree.]]

I'm not joking. Look at Bucha's face; all droopy, with a massive mustache, and he's a tree-person. He gives you the slingshot, which also just so happens to be the second useful thing you find in the Great Deku Tree in Ocarina of Time. I theorize that, as he grew older and older(and lazier), he eventually rooted into the ground and grew into a full-blown tree, but remained the chieftain of the Kikwi, who later changed into the Kokiri. Clearly, after Link died, he has one of the Kikwi/Kokiri steal back the slingshot, threw it into a chest, and swallowed it. Machi later becomes Mido, and hates Time-Link because he reminds him so much of his old friend, Sky-Link.

[[WMG: Demise and his demons are from [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaALinkBetweenWorlds Lorule]]. ]]
His sword, [[spoiler: Ghirahim]], has the same down-pointing Triforce symbol on its blade. This also explains why he decided to attack Hyrule: [[spoiler:Demise wanted the Triforce so that he could conquer the world, but Lorule had destroyed their Triforce to prevent it being misused.]]

So Ghirahim's [[spoiler:sword from]] was forged and he became Hylia's lieutenant and [[BodyguardingABadass bodyguard]]. Long story short, pride and the Demon King corrupted Ghirahim, and he switch sides in hopes of being more than Hylia's "valet." He still remembers all this, but is certain that he made the better decision.

[[WMG:Peatrice is the ancestor of the girl chasing a chicken in Hyrule Market from ''Ocarina of Time'']]
It's all in the dance moves. Once when Link visits the Item Check, Peatrice gets up and does a happy dance--which looks just like the dance the little girl in Hyrule Market does in ''Ocarina of Time'' when Link puts on a mask.

[[WMG:Groose+ Demise's Cruse= Ganondorf/Ganon]]
Back nearly 2 years ago in the Fridge section, a fridge theory was posted that Groose was affected by the curse and Demise's spirit attached on to his to create the cycle of reincarnated evil that faces Zelda and Link. Now this is backed up by the factors that:
* A. Groose seems to be the progenitor of what would become the Gerudo in terms of features.
* B. It appears that Impa may have been affected as she also is noticeably reincarnated through out the series as someone who has ties to directly protecting/caring for Zelda, but she wasn't directly cursed by Demise, meaning the effect may have accidentally exceeded what he intended.
* C. So far this is the first and last time we've seen a character that looks, acts and named like Groose.

In fact Beatruex may be a form of hungry luma.

[[WMG:Batreux Fought In The Demon War]]
He is described as a demon by Fi and himself, which implies that he originated from the same world as Demise. In the introduction, one of the demons with Demise is depicted having two horns, like Batreux. He may have been a high ranking demon that stowed away on Skyloft in order to escape the sealing, but was more of an AntiVillain compared to the rest of the demons, so Hylia turned a blind eye to him.

[[spoiler:Demise's influence must also be able to extend across time as well - -- his hatred's incarnation having received one third of the sacred triangles he wished to obtain on his own must certainly have helped.]]

* [[spoiler:Fi did say that one of the reasons she went to sleep was so that the remains of Demise's consciousness could be purged from the sword over time. But if Zelda/Hylia was having trouble keeping Demise sealed, then there's no reason to think Fi will have any better luck, other than the epic beatdown Link gave him earlier, but that may be temporary. What if Demise is getting ''stronger'' while sealed within the Master Sword, not weaker? What if each time Link defeats Ganon or some other incarnation of Demise's evil, [[NiceJobBreakingItHero some of his power collects in the sword itself, where its original consciousness is contained?]] [[OhCrap And whose body did we leave the sword stuck through in both Wind Waker and Twilight Princess?]]]]

[[WMG: Faron got [[BreakTheHaughty disciplined by the goddesses]] [[TakeThatScrappy between this game and]] [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess Twilight Princess]].]]

The reason it stayed together under his use is the same reason that it split when Ganondorf used it - the Triforce can only stay together while being used if the user is pure of heart.

However,
that- (...what happened to the Imprisoned, who died onscreen as The Sky Keep smushed him flat and sealed up the Sealed Grounds for good?

It follows that
this Hyrule becomes a golden land blessed by the presence of the whole Triforce completely controlled by the forces of good.

[[spoiler: In keeping with Ghirahim being an evil opposite to Fi in all things, Fi's unrestricted form would be an extremely fast, graceful combination of KickChick and DanceBattler, using only her feet as weapons where Ghirahim just used his hands.]]
* Sorta confirmed by VideoGame/HyruleWarriors.

[[WMG: Levias is the Wind Fish from Link's Awakening.]]

Or it could have happened in a [[spoiler: [[DontExplainTheJoke swordfight.]]]]

A quick leap of logic, and here's my theory:

** Maybe she took over from Lanayru when he kicked it(or was sacked for incompetence), bringing back water and explaining why Lanayru province isn't entirely desert in later games.

We see two other dragon who live in volcanos in the Zelda series, Volvalgia, and Valoo. Now Volvagia I don't really have a good explanation for, except that he could have been one of Eldin's children who turned evil for...

[[WMG: The unnamed planet that this and most Zelda games take place on is actually Earth.]]

Both the First deity mask and the Link from this game have the ability to shoot disks of light from their swords, and the mask makes you look like adult link when you wear it, so...

Hylia made the Time Gates.

* Stone of Trials: From a citizen of Skyloft to Hylia.

This also explains why he decided to attack Hyrule: [[spoiler:Demise wanted the Triforce so that he could conquer the world, but Lorule had destroyed their Triforce to prevent it being misused.]]

For one thing, their themes sound surprisingly similar. Also, it seems that Groose has become one of the closest friends Link and Zelda have apart from each other; his descendents descendants probably were among the royal attendants who are implied to be the predecessors of Tetra's crew.

[[WMG: Hylia's power is the [[TheMinishCap Light Force.]]]]
The Legend in TheMinishCap was inaccurate. The Minish didn't bring the Light Force; they made the Hylians aware of Zelda's sacred abilities, which also explains why Ezlo, a ''sage'' of the Minish, didn't even know what exactly it was. The rest is self-explanatory.

We didn't get the full backstory. In addition to Hylia, there were two other deities set to protect the Triforce. One embodied courage and one embodied power. The minor goddess of power's story was lost to history, but not completely: it is still known that she had red hair and golden eyes, and many desert civilizations worship her as the [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime Desert Colossus]]. The minor god of courage's name was also lost to history. He is now known as the [[MajorasMask Fierce Deity]]. The Colossus was most likely one of the first divine casualties, but she managed to pass on some minuscule part of her into a human bloodline. This bloodline eventually bore Groose, then the Gerudo. The Fierce Deity's story, though, is more interesting. He was wounded, unprepared, by a sneak attack by the [[MadGod mad demon]] Majora and her high priest, known only by his rictus grin, chilling laugh, and ability to pull large musical instruments from the ether. Knowing that if he died, his power could be used by the demons, he asked Hylia for help. He needed some way to keep his power safe from the forces of evil without eradicating it altogether. Hylia, by this time, was already formulating a plan to become mortal and use the Triforce. She took out her harp and played the [[MajorasMask Song of Healing.]] The Fierce Deity's spirit -- the part that contained his power -- filtered into another human bloodline. His soul -- the part that made him who he was -- was sealed inside a mask, which eventually fell into Majora's hands, but could not be used to its full extent, as it did not contain the power. Link never remembers who he is because he does not have that soul, only the spirit, whereas [[spoiler:Zelda]] had both. [[spoiler:Zelda]] didn't tell him because that would be a stupid idea -- we've already seen [[EldritchAbomination what happens]] when a body of demonic origin attempts to form without its consciousness. The same situation, but of divine origin, would likely be worse. So when the Hero of Time put on that mask, he knew, just for a few minutes, what was really going on. It helps to explain why he looked how he did in [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess Twilight Princess]].

** [[MadGod Majora]] said that. Besides, it all depends on how you define "evil." MajorasMask dealt with the theme of moral ambiguity a lot, especially towards the end.

** No, actually, this is confirmed. There is a prequel comic to Skyward Sword in Hyrule Historia. [[spoiler:There is a knight named Link who becomes Hylia's chosen hero; however, he dies before meeting Demise. After Hylia seals Demise away, she cries over Link's dead body, guilty that the human has been through so much suffering. But because of his courageous heart that fought to protect her people, she makes his spirit immortal, stating he will be able to be reborn time and time again, when her people will need their hero. [[spoiler:Demise's]] curse specifically mentioned [[spoiler:the incarnation of his hatred]], but who's to say that was ''all'' that happened? The backstory of ''MajorasMask'' notes how alternate worlds such as Termina came into being when the Goddesses created Hyrule, and the residual bits and pieces slipped through the cracks of creation and coalesced into separate realms. So it's possible that [[spoiler:though Demise specifically created Ganon as the manifestation of his hatred, his death led to the birth of the ''other'' villains, in that his other attributes were given their own incarnations as well.]]

Ironically, one of Hylia’s opponents, known only as [[MajorasMask the Fierce Deity]], was the very source of the “spirit of the hero” the goddess would then manipulate into serving her plans.

But in T-2, with Demise having been sealed in the Master Sword but not fully destroyed, and with Demise's curse, evil still lurks across the land, leading to the wars for the Triforce first mentioned in ''ALinkToThePast''.
