* SMW: Carryable Hammer, a reference to the cutscene in the original where Mario destroys a castle by smashing it repeatedly with a hammer. Functions similarly to SM3DW's Builder Mario suit's hammer ability, but this can be picked up and dropped at will, and it has the limit of Mario not being able to pick up other things, like shells or P-Switches, while carrying it. For added effect, have Mario pant after using it.

** I wouldn't say Jossed just yet. Goombrats in other styles are round and stalkless because Goombrats are based on persimmon fruits, which lack mushroom stalks. Moreover, they have the same frowning, downward-looking eyes as NSMBU Goombrats do, while the ones in SMW stare forward with big, furrow-less eyes. Also worth of note is that the SMB3 and NSMBU styles have the color of the sepals black, red in the SMB1 style, but oddly enough, ''green'' in the SMW style. Plus, there's the whole lighter-colored muzzle the SMW Goombrats share with the Galoombas.

* ''VideoGame/SuperMarioBros2'' Style will, like Super Mario 3D World, be completely different from any other style. The mechanics will function similarly to the original game (duck jumps, riding enemies, lifting things up over one's head, etc). Unlike many other styles, there won't be power-ups in the same sense. The player starts with two hit points, displayed on the left side of the screen. Mushrooms, the only power-up aside from Stars in this style, will add one extra hit. Keys need to be carried and will get a Phanto after you. Potions, as in the original, will open a door taking the player to a flipped version of the (somewhat larger, due to screen dimensions) area it is used in, and some items can be made only accessible in this subspace. Pipes are replaced by jars for vertical pipes and mask gates for horizontal. All of the regular enemies from SMB2 will be there, and many of the enemies common to all other styles can be there, as well. All the bosses are replaced, though. Rather than Boom-Boom, Bowser Jr., or Bowser (or Pom-Pom), Birdo (changeable between pink, red, and green, Mushroom transformation makes it a Robirdo version of that color) Mouser (changeable between colors that take 3, 5, or 7 hits), Triclyde (red, pink, and gray variants with similarly increasing hits), Fryguy (maybe the same), Clawgrip, and Wart. Additionally, Mask Gates will get a variation where they will attack the player upon the crystal ball being picked up. The key difference between this style and its original game will be that everyone will have the same physics, as with every other style.

within.
** Half-confirmed for the December 5th update in the form of Frozen Coins, which are basically just ice blocks that react to fiery Parts.

** Half-confirmed; the P-Balloon makes it in for the April 22nd update, but works more like the [[VideoGame/SuperMarioGalaxy2 Blimp Berry]] in that it releases a limited amount of air to propel the player in the direction they move the joystick.

** Mostly jossed; however, ''2'' Mario still makes it in for the April 22nd update as a Super Mario Bros. theme exclusive powerup. He can perform a CraniumRide on almost all enemies and throw them.

[[WMG:Part of the rewards for the second page of the Ninji Stamp Card are Luigi's cat suit.]]
The first item, for 11 stamps, is a hat with ears and cheeks that look identical to the Cat Mario Headgear, and the final item, for 20 stamps, appears to be a suit with paws for feet, like the Cat Mario Suit. However, the background for the Stamp Card's second page is polka-dotted, [[http://www.mariowiki.com/File:Cat_Luigi_Artwork_-_Super_Mario_3D_World.png matching Cat Luigi]]. As for the middle two items, I've got no good ideas, but they don't look like cats to me.

[[WMG: Additionally, actual Mario characters will become available with power-ups.]]
Starting with an all-new Super Crown that [[AscendedMeme turns anybody into Peach]] not just Toadette. Call it the “Hyper Crown” or something. While Yoshi is already a mount, maybe his gameplay from his own series could also be obtained using a similar item; either allowing players to still ride a Yoshi with things like egg-tossing or fusing players with him. More hype, however, will come with Wario and DK, who come in bigger updates with content from their series. While Daisy could simply be a variant on Peach (maybe if Luigi uses the Hyper Crown?), Rosalina could also be worth this kind of transformation item.

[[WMG:[[Franchise/{{Metroid}} Samus]] will eventually become a character accessed through a powerup, like Link.]]
Of the first-party Nintendo characters, she seems to be the most likely next candidate for a costume promotion, especially considering her NES debut is also part-platformer. She already has several suits that could be used as alternate costumes in multiplayer, between more than 10 games and the ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros'' series. Samus also boasts unique abilities including her beams, Missiles, Screw Attack, and Morph Ball and Bombs, and potentially several other things if they want to incorporate items from later games, like the Spider Ball, Speed Booster and Shinespark, Space Jump Boots, X-Ray Visor, Grapple Beam, Spring Ball, and Melee Counter. Overall, Samus as a character could be a long-range master with more tools for exploration without needing powerups to access them. If Nintendo wants bonus points, they could drop this powerup alongside new information for ''Metroid Prime 4''.

* ''VideoGame/CaptainToadTreasureTracker'': In Nintendo's typical way of throwing the unexpected in our faces, this lovely little puzzle platformer would be added as a new style in an update. Not only would Toad and Toadette be given their trademark backpacks that prevent them from jumping, but Mario and Luigi would also gain huge backpacks that prevent them from jumping too. New enemies would be added, with Wingo taking Bowser's place. And goals would be replaced with a star at the end. Now for the level themes:

** Underground - Mine Cart Tunnel Throwdown
** Underwater - Briny Bowl Swimming Hole

** Sky - Drop Road Dash
** Forest - Tie between Piranha Creeper Cove or Stumpy Springs Sanctuary
** Ghost House - Spooky Specters at Shadow Manor
** Airship - Goomba Galleon
