[[WMG: In "Applebuck Season," at least a few of the times that Twilight showed up to talk to Applejack were hallucinations.]]
The example I was thinking of was when Twilight used a series of TeleportSpam to maintain a conversation with Applebuck, when it would have probably taken a lot less energy and time to simply walk alongside Applejack and continue the conversation that way. The hallucinations were simply AJ's mind being so exhausted that her subconscious was conjuring up a reasonable authority figure to convince her to rest. And if that one was a hallucination... why not others?

[[WMG: Twilight is Celestia's daughter... kind of.]]
Long before the rebellion of princess Luna, and possibly before Celestia became so powerful, Celestia had a daughter who was killed in some sort of magic related accident. A dragon attempted to save her, but received mortal wounds in the process. When Celestia finally reached the two, they were already doomed. In a stunning display of arcane magic, Celestia cast their souls to be reincarnated some day. The spell could only guarantee reincarnation in some way. the time until the reincarnation, the location, and the heritage were all uncontrollable, though because she set both the dragon and her daughter to be reincarnated in the same spell, the two were bound by destiny in their next life. Fast forward at least a thousand years, and Twilight turns up in an orphanage, And a dragon egg turns up at the royal palace in Canterlot. Spike, as a dragon with strange properties, remembers his past life and retains most of his knowledge, including the events of his death and his destiny to guard Twilight, making him surprisingly intelligent for an infant dragon. Twilight is taken under the guardianship of Celestia in private, where either directly as an adoptive mother or indirectly as a teacher and mentor, she is raised by Celestia.

* The lesson will be ill taught by Celestia, wishing to keep twilight from being psychologically tortured later in life like herself. One pony will become dangerously depressed, and Celestia will forbid, in a loving motherly way, Twilight from returning, in an attempt to teach her to let go. The true final lesson will be that while you may have to break paths with friends, that does not mean you must abandon them. This lesson will be one Twilight teaches to Celestia as she escapes back to Ponyville against Celestia's orders.

* She's not skilled enough; she's still learning her magic, and it takes her a lot of effort to pull feats such as quieting down the Ursa [[spoiler: Minor]] and changing a cutie mark. But perhaps when she grows older, stronger and more skilled, she could qualify.

The series takes it's viewers at least somewhat seriously compared to most girls cartoons. The final planned episode will involve the main cast being called away from Ponyville for their own reasons, with at least a couple in a situation where they won't likely meet the rest of the group again. The episode will involve one of the ponies desperately clinging onto contact with some or all of the other ponies, before learning that her clinginess is only serving to hinder her friends own lives and making the whole process more painful for everyone involved. Lauren Faust will want to let the target audience know that friendship that suffocates is just selfishness. The ending will be "happy" as the ponies come to terms with the fact, but will still be mildly depressing, just like in real life.

[[WMG: Twilight Sparkle is an intern for some sort of government agency.]]
She receives direct correspondence with higher government, is well studied in a variety of magic, to the point of being an elite "mage." She is sent on direct assignment, and she is ordered to make strong connections out in a backwater country town. If a government agent ever needed to lay low, a town like that would be a haven. She somehow has knowledge of magic that can temporarily alter and change a cutie mark, which is a highly personal marking that could be used to positively identify individuals. Knowledge of such magic would not be so odd if it weren't for the strong personal connections to a cutie mark; nopony would EVER want to change their cutie mark unless they had a direct need to. she has an almost adept skill in teleportation, which no other unicorn has been observed doing, and she is likely highly educated, having taken the equivalent to some level of college education at a prestigious university. She has the credentials, the skills, the connections, and the orders.

[[WMG: The Aesop in the final episode (assuming the series is not cancelled mid season) will be about learning to part ways with friends.]]

[[WMG: The Grand Galloping Gala is going to play a larger role in the storyline than everybody thinks.]]

At first, we all thought it was just a story element in "The Ticket Master" that was over and done with at the end of the episode. But then comes "Suited For Success", where it focuses on Rarity making dresses for the Gala. It then lends credence to the idea that the Grand Galloping Gala is going to play a HUGE part in the story, possibly as near or in the Season Finale.

* Probably the real reason why you very rarely see written text in this show (one exception being the "WELCOME PRINCESS CELEST" banner in "Swarm of the Century" ) is to make it easier for the show to be dubbed into foreign languages.

Through careful application of her own skilled magic, which lets her manipulate the earth and heavens, she has created a rather dystopian monarchy. Under Celestia's rule, a caste system has formed; a matriarchal hierarchy has been put into place, where the magical unicorns outrank the flying pegasi, and everybody is above the average, non-magical ponies. Celestia herself is above everything: A goddess incarnate, she appears as a winged unicorn, a completely unique creature beyond the powers of nearly everything around her, save for the Elements of Harmony, a strange magic beyond her control. In this story, Celestia has groomed Twilight, a talented young bookworm, as her "student," and discreetly tasked her with analysis of the power of friendship magic, something Celestia has never controlled. At the end of every episode, a loyal, naive Twilight writes to Celestia with her findings on the magic of friendship. (It should be noted that this troper is not a follower of the older series; if this is a restatement of some other canon description of the caste system and power-hungry princess, please leave a comment.)

We're told that the world outside of Equestria does not require the maintenance Equestria does; animals take care of themselves, as does the weather. But this is not a sure thing. In case of a breakdown of the natural laws, Celestia created servants that might keep things running smoothly so she herself could focus on fixing the underlying problem. She made Equestria exempt from some of these laws so that the ponies would not forget the skills required. The ponies with mundane skills are to collect the practical knowledge of civilization so that even if all life outside of Equestria is destroyed through some cosmic SNAFU, rebuilding will be possible. They were given free will because Celestia and Nightmare needed the company.

** Maybe the public school system is a new development (at least in rural areas like Ponyville, since 80's Cheerilee was photographed in front of what looks like a high school locker room)? It seems like all the students are in the same class, there's only one teacher and the school is a single room. Apple Bloom is young enough to take advantage of the free schooling while Apple Jack, who is a little older, apparently never learned any "fancy mathematics".

Celestia, who loved her sister dearly, would not imprison her forever. She cast the spell to seal Luna in the moon, and in doing so ordained the date, time, and mechanism of her release. Knowing Luna would not listen to her, she made plans to train a protégé who could wield the Elements of Harmony and knock some sense into her wayward sister, and wrote the books of "prophecy" to facilitate that end. In essence, 1000 years wasn't a prophecy -- it was simply Nightmare Moon's sentence.

[[WMG: Nightmare Moon is a fusion of Princess Celestia and Princess Luna]]

This assumes that the tale (''Mare in the Moon'') was wrong to begin with, meaning that Luna doesn't become Nightmare Moon, and it was just a tale told by the winner of the fight. And the fight went like this: Princess Celestia was truly angry at Luna for something she did or tried to do, banishing her to/into the moon as punishment, possibly in a time Celestia was far less mature and understanding, and only had her power in her favor to prove herself right. Further proof is that Luna seemed to fear her, and was ''very'' sorry afterward; Celestia must have been a ''monster'' when mad, but Luna truly loves her big sister.

And as for how is Nightmare Moon a fusion of the sisters, it's all in Celestia's disappearance and reappearance times: she disappears after being a confirmed appearance at Ponyville for the celebration and right under their eyes, and reappears after the burst of rainbow and light caused by the elements, freeing the sun. Also, it's awfully convenient that Nightmare Moon put Twilight Sparkle and friends under the precise circumstances to produce the Elements of Harmony later on...

She's the one who stopped Twilight Sparkle from trying to prevent it, after all. If she was really the heartless tyrant some people seem to think she is, she'd have wanted to make sure her sister stayed locked up, not [[EasilyForgiven welcomed her back.]] My guess is that she sealed Luna away because without the sixth Element of Harmony, that's all she ''could'' do. After a thousand years of guilt and loneliness, she just wanted her sister back.

[[WMG: Nightmare Moon didn't ''escape'' at all.]]

Nightmare Moon had an awfully ''orderly'' escape. The stars converged exactly on schedule, at a preordained date and time, and in perfect symmetry, just as the prophecy foretold, and even foreillustrated. Now, what's a simpler explanation, that somepony had a precisely accurate psychic vision that rogue stars, acting of their own agency and for no apparent reason, would assist in the escape of a, ahem, lunatic, or that ''the pony who cast the spell'' just wrote down how it would end?

Celestia, who loved her sister dearly, would not imprison her forever. She cast the spell to seal Luna in the moon, and in doing so ordained the date, time, and mechanism of her release.
