However, WCW's anti-WWE weapon would (in a similar theory by [[WebVideo/TheSpoonyExperiment Spoony]]) ultimately be phased out in favor of superior Clones without any trace of the original programming (and memories) in favor of an unaltered version of its current personality once Vince [=McMahon=] rediscovered the original blueprints during his faked death on June 11, 2007, making the original WCW John Cena the literal "Prototype". Additionally, the cloning lab is beneath WWE headquarters and contains dozens of John Cenas at various stages of development from fetus to adult, and whenever a John Cena is severly injured, they simply kill the current clone and activate a newer, superior one, explaining Cena's miraculous on-and-offscreen healing abilities.

UPW would become a talent scout for the WWE and transfer its most promising prospects to OVW, except for Samoa Joe, whose anti WWF program was too complex for Vince's best scientists to overcome. Vince still did not have have the money to overcome the government like Billionaire Ted, but his daughter Stephanie, discovered John Cena's AI was only rudimentary, eventually overwriting his initial personality with a simulation of Music/VanillaIce. Vince [=McMahon=] would later have Dr. Stevie (whose treachery was discovered after running through John Cena's memory banks and had nowhere to turn to after ECW and WCW went under) overwrite the prototype's personality with an idealized version of Hulk Hogan's. Older fans hated this, but newer female fans drawn in by the resurrected women's division and John Cena, could not help but cheer for him and since they brought their kids along with them to shows, WWE had a new audience and did not need to impress older WWF fans. The best part was John Cena's mechanical nature made him easy to repair, allowing for maximum exploitation.

Which abilities.

* This
also explains the fate of the "Prototype", as it ended up being destroyed in order to use it to mold a basis template for all the clones. Plus, it had become too costly to maintain the prototype, due to its obsolete regeneration factor.
* As John Cena has currently suffered at least 8 major injuries, this currently makes him the eighth clone of the
"Prototype".
* In a very rare instance, WWE can summon a literal army of John Cenas, as shown in ''Wrestlemania 25''. All the clones featured there have since been assimilated into society which means the army is still out there, waiting for their next command...

The only reason the carnage was stopped was so that the WWE would be allowed to remain on the USA Network (because of a rule that would prohibit women from being beaten by men). The actual original plan was to have Maria take far more abuse before she was taken out of the arena, thrown in a car and driven to an unknown location to be buried alive. Cena would then attempt revenge but would be beaten far worse than he was in his infamous Wrestling/SummerSlam 2016 match against Wresting/BrockLesnar, turning Umaga into a new kind of MonsterHeel, one that is far scarier and brutal than run-of-the-mill Monsters.

* Take off your smark goggles for a second; HHH has at least put over a guy from time to time (Angle, Batista, Benoit, even helped Jericho to an extent). Cena buried the Nexus at SummerSlam 2010, and I wish that was an exaggeration. The guy has steamrolled over all talent since 2005, and, with the exception of Daniel Bryan, hasn't really put over anyone. One can bray all they like about Triple H's reign of terror from 2002-2004, but at least it made sense and ended with the establishment of two new stars. Cena has done nearly nothing for the talent below him and he's nearly 40. Nearly every program that Cena has been in has been geared to making him look good. Now, YMMV on whether or not it reveals malicious intent in Cena, but still, it's glib and smarky to just say "lolHHH" when Cena's probably a more flagrant example.

Wrestling/TripleH doesn't want the WWE World Heavyweight Title back on Cena because Cena promised to give [[Wrestling/BryanDanielson Daniel Bryan]] a fair rematch if and when he won the title back. So the Wyatt Family is being used to not only screw Cena out of the win at ''Elimination Chamber'' (which might have led to something like Cena vs. Batista vs. Bryan at WM XXX), but draw his attention elsewhere so he doesn't pursue the title for the time being. (This may also explain why, at one point, TripleH practically ''begged'' Wrestling/TheShield not to pick a fight with the Wyatts.)
