\n* If Satoko knew that Rika had gone through 100 years of constant death and rebirth to save her and Hinamizawa from being gassed, she would have been much less receptive to putting her best friend through all that again. Satoko's old troubles can hardly compare to those of Rika's, right?

Nowhere did it say that Rika told anyone else about her powers and even if she did, it would fly right over their heads. Akasaka was as close as it got.

[[WMG: We're going to at least get 36 episodes out of this]]

Given how the image song for "Irregular Entropy" appears to show a fire behind Satoko, and how she absolutely loathed the academy, it isn't out of question that she started a fire as her way of getting back at Rika for not honoring their promise. Rika would have either died in the fire, or Satoko could have lured Rika out to kill her before starting the fire to kill the snobbish girls.

We've always operated with the assumption that Takano and Lambda are connected, Satoko could very well be Lambda as well -- plus it would explain why Bernkastel and Lambdadelta have that kind of relationship. Bernkastel and Lambdadelta are just the result of Ikuko corrupting them.

This means that by the time the new scenario of Higurashi Gou was triggered, [[spoiler: Bernkastel was already born]].

The OP showed Featherine in a shadow. Wherever Featherine is, Bernkastel is not far behind.

[[WMG: Higurashi Gou may firmly connect Higurashi with [[VisualNovel/UminekoWhenTheyCry Umineko]].]]
So I'm sure by now anybody who has been following the 2020 anime is aware that this is not a straight remake. Between episode 2 starting with [[spoiler:teen Rika having to go back to June 1983 and a non-physical Hanyuu fading out of existence among the kakera]] and the fact that instead of Onikakushi-hen, we're starting with the totally new Onidamashi-hen (Demon Decieving arc). But aside from all the obvious differences within the story, there's also the intro. The new intro [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soQjR5_GHXI]] includes brief flashes of what may be either Hanyuu or Featherine Augustus Aurora at 0:46, as well as what appears to be Rokkenjima Manor at 1:17. The speculation about Featherine comes from a difference in the appearance of the horns and hair, which granted is in sillhouette.

So, could we about to get confirmation of what exactly happened to Hinamizawa in the meta world? The creation of Frederica Bernkastel beyond the brief scene at the end of Saikoroshi-hen? Is this all misdirection and misinterpretation? Who can really say? FWIW, [[spoiler:teen Rika in episode 2 was wearing a uniform from St. Lucia Academy, the school that both Shion Sonozaki and Ange Ushiromiya went to.]] And in 1986, Rika would be somewhere around 13-15....

[[WMG: Miyo Takano [[NotMeThisTime is not the killer]] in ''Gou'']]
Given how ''Gou'' had noticeably changed events from the first anime, it could be very likely that Takano being the mastermind won't be repeated here and rather someone else will be the suspect.

[[WMG: Gou is [[VisualNovel/UminekoWhenTheyCry Bernkastel's]] origin story.]]
As mentioned above, there's some clear links to Umineko.[[labelnote:spoiler]]The silhouette that is implied to be Featherine who's Bern's miko, and what may be the Rokkenjima Chapel or St. Lucia which Shion, teen Rika, and Ange atteneded at.[[/labelnote]] This season may finally tell us how Bernkastel came to be and how she ended up on Umineko's gameboard, as well as her relationship with [[spoiler:Featherine]].

[[WMG: Hanyu is to [[VisualNovel/UminekoWhenTheyCry Featherine]] as Furudo Erika is to Bernkastel]]
Hanyu has been long-thought to be connected to Featherine, obviously, but there is a chance she's just a double with her own independent will placed down in Hinamizawa as a piece to influence the game, much like Erika was. Maybe not directly Featherine herself, but possibly another servant modeled after her.

** Rika and Satoko died together at Rika's house and their bodies were found by someone. They were both killed with the same knife with multiple stabs to their necks. The police believe it was either a murder or a suicide. It is doubted by Mion and the police that it was a suicide and believe it was likely something such as a robbery gone wrong.

** Teppei's hand is in a strange position after Keiichi "kills" him. It's also the hand that would've had his watch, but it's missing. If Teppei had raised his hand to protect his head from something, it could’ve broken his watch, which would’ve then been stuck on the time it was broken, i.e. when Teppei was ''actually'' killed. Satoko could've removed it because of this.
